A chat record was sometimes a sad thing. She looked at it and sighed. 'Once upon a time we were so close yet we are like strangers now!' she thought. Her mind drifted to the time when Nathan said she didn't need to thank him for anything.

Knowing it wasn't nice to dwell on such thoughts, she opened the drawer, put the brooch inside, and closed it slowly. An eerie feeling emerged in her heart. She realized it was time for the game to end.

At the JR Hospital, Mandy was sitting in front of her desk.

Her eyes were casually looking at the computer screen. She rested her head on one hand and gripped the mouse with the other hand. An outsider would have thought she was busy with work. However, her mind was wandering. Concentrating on work had become extremely hard for her.

Throughout the day, Mandy's mental state was disturbed. She sat still in one place, absentmindedly. During her morning meeting with the doctors of the Cardiology Department, she spoke very little. Everyone noticed that there was something different about her manner. However, nobody dared to ask her.

The fact that Mandy and Nathan had broken up had spread like wildfire around the JR Hospital. It was said that someone caught sight of Mandy and Nathan quarreling outside the operating room. As the saying went, 'Bad news has wings.' The news of their breakup was known to everyone.

The doctors and nurses in the other departments continued to talk about them. This was the hot topic of the week. Some argued that Mandy and Nathan were not from the same class of world, which was why they broke up. A few of them brought in Nathan's reputation with women and said he had just played with Mandy. They guessed he eventually got tired of her; hence, he decided to break up. All in all, nobody would stop discussing her in the workplace. Mandy seemed oblivious to their gossip. Her mind was recalling everything that had happened in the past.

She vividly remembered that night with Bruce. It was just like a nightmare for Mandy. Just the thought of it made her shiver.

Suddenly, a middle-aged woman broke into the doctor's office. In an agitated state, she began to criticize Mandy viciously.

"Director Zhou, my husband has serious coronary heart disease. Why didn't you identify it in your medical report? You are not good at your job! Who made you the director of the department? You are young

roses. In some ways these flowers represented her life. It silently played the role of pureness.

"Sharon... I have come to see you." Mandy began to choke as she sobbed. Then she squatted down and placed the flowers on her grave.

"Sharon, today is your birthday. Let me keep you company. Are you having a good time over there? I miss you so much. I have broken up with Daniel. He went abroad. Perhaps we will never see each other in this life." Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke. Her eyes had turned red from crying.

Just like the grave atmosphere in the cemetery, Mandy's heart was heavy. Some people were scared of this place, however, Mandy wasn't. She knew one day everyone would sleep here.

Sharon had been her best friend. They were of the same age. At the age of five, Mandy met her in a competition at a concert hall in the city. Both of them appreciated each other's talent in music. And that was how their journey began.

Since then, Mandy and Sharon practiced their music instruments together every day. Mandy played piano, whereas Sharon would be her accompaniment. They were in the same primary school, middle school, and high school...

But something happened, and their inseparable friendship had to come to an end. Not long after graduating from high school, Sharon had met with a car accident and died. Mandy couldn't accept the fact. For days, she cried. And once she recovered from this trauma, she decided to not play the piano anymore. Every time she tried to touch it, she would think of Sharon. And the thought of Sharon made her weep like a baby.
