Chapter 270 Goodnight, Nathan

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Mandy was standing under the streetlight, lost in thought. Her mind was a jumble filled with thoughts about Nathan. Mandy felt that she and Nathan were like parallel lines. They could only look at each other from a distance but would never connect.

There were two kinds of happiness in this world. One was to be happy with the person you loved, and the second was to see your loved ones happy. Not many were fortunate enough to be happy with the person they were in love with. Sometimes, love was all about letting them go and being happy with the fact that they were somewhere in this world, living a happy life.

A gust of cold wind brushed across Mandy's face when she stepped forward. Her gaze settled on the silhouette of a man standing under the streetlight. It was dark, and she couldn't see the man's face, but she had a faint feeling that he was looking at her.

A lump had formed in Mandy's throat as she was afraid that it was a bully who was waiting to attack her. She shuddered at the thought and decided to go home.

Mandy's movement caused the figure to move. The tall, dark figure was running towards her. Before Mandy could react, strong hands had swept her into a tight embrace.

Mandy's heart began to race in her chest. But her breathing became normal when the familiar scent reached her nose. She felt relieved.

It was Nathan, the love of her life. He nestled his face in the crook of Mandy's neck and wrapped his arms around Mandy's waist without saying a word. He was hugging her so tight that it began to hurt Mandy, but she did not complain. She had missed him so much.

Mandy trembled under his hold. Her nose twitched and tears welled up in her eyes, streaming down her cheeks.

"Please, Mand, let me hug you for one last time. I won't badger you anymore," Nathan mumbled against her neck. He had missed her, her voice, this closeness, and the warmth of her body. He had come to see Mandy as he couldn't stay away from her any longer.

When Nathan got back home, after work, the empty villa drove him insane. He wasn't used to living a life without her. Every corner of the house reminded him of Mandy. Unable to contain his emotions anymore, Nathan drove to the MC Garden, hoping to see Mandy. He stood outside the building of the Zhou Family and peered up at Mandy's room. He found that the lights were off. She usually slept around t

room safely.

Nathan was leaning against the gate of the MC Garden the entire night. He kept glancing at Mandy's room from time to time.

Mandy was sitting in the corner of her room, hugging her legs. She peeked at Nathan through the gap of her curtain. Nathan was standing at the same spot while staring at her room.

Mandy grabbed her phone and was about to call and beg him to go home. But she didn't dare to talk to him again. She was afraid that her concern would build up hope in him and ruin all her effort.

She switched her phone on and off, shuffling it in her hands until the battery was completely drained.

It was almost dawn when Nathan left the place. It was four in the morning, and Mandy was sitting on the floor, her eyes were bloodshot and swollen. Her hair was a complete mess. She was dying inside.

People couldn't be in love if they don't hurt each other. Love was not just a bed of roses–it was also the thorns in it that pricked them. Nathan and Mandy were crazy about each other, and that's why they were hurting inside.

Nathan felt empty when he walked to his car. He neither drove back home nor to his company. He just hopped into the car and opened the sunroof. He looked up at the starlit sky.

His thoughts flitted to the time Mandy had admired the stars. "Nathan, let's go to the stars," she had said, laughing happily. They were still under the same sky and stars but had been separated by fate.

He had been mad at her then. He regretted the times he had been angry. Perhaps she wouldn't have left him if he had treated her better.
