"Back off! Get away from me!" Mandy turned her head. She didn't want to look at Madeline and Fiona. She felt guilty and didn't really want to face anyone right now.

"Mand, don't say that. I'm your mother. No matter what happened, we'll always have your back." Madeline was truly terrified to see her daughter just wrapped in a towel.

"Mother, I beg you. Could you please go out first? I will... I'll be out soon," Mandy said, her voice trembling.

"Okay, we'll wait for you outside." Madeline felt so helpless, her heart twisting in pain. She wished she could share the burdens of her daughter.

Fiona grabbed a broom to sweep the floor, which was littered with shards of broken glass. She was afraid that Mandy would get hurt. Only after she'd cleaned the floor did she leave with Madeline.

After they left, Mandy decided to wash up again. She put on clean clothes before leaving the bathroom.

She knew how worried they must have been about her, but she really didn't know what to say. She had no idea how to face her own mother and sister, especially Nathan.

Madeline and Fiona sat on the bed restlessly as they waited for Mandy. They collectively heaved a sigh of relief when they finally saw Mandy walking out of the bathroom.

"Mother, Fiona, I'm sorry to have worried you," Mandy apologized, her face turning pale. Her skin was still reddened.

"Are you trying to scare me to death, Mand? What on earth happened? We can figure it out whatever it is," Madeline said, sounding upset as she stood up to pull Mandy into a tight embrace.

"Last night... I... I slept with Bruce last night," Mandy finally said after a long pause.

Madeline's eyes widened in shock, and she was unable to utter a word.

Fiona was just as shocked. She thought to herself, 'What? She slept with Mr. Xu? Why? I thought she loved Nathan? They've been talking to each other every night since Nathan left.'

"Mand, tell me, what on earth happened?" Madeline was confused, but at the same time, she felt relieved, as she had thought Mandy might have been raped. At the very least, even thoug

work now," Madeline said angrily.

Mandy was at a loss. She needed to do something. She stood up from the bed and said sternly, "Mother, I slept well last night. I'm fine. Just let me go to work."

Madeline was silent as she crossed her arms and looked at Mandy.

Fiona shook Madeline's arm and tried to persuade her. She spoke softly, "Aunt, she's right though. Just let her go to work. It's not a big deal. I don't think she'll do anything to mess up."

"Okay, go ahead. You just take care of yourself." Madeline waved her hand, sighed helplessly, and walked out of the room.

Taking the car key, Mandy rushed to the hospital, first driving to No. 520, Haibin Road.

In the villa, Lillian had been waiting for Mandy anxiously. That morning, she had gotten up early to cook breakfast. She had waited until half-past seven in the morning. When Mandy still hadn't come down for breakfast, she decided to go to her room to check. However, she was surprised to find that Mandy wasn't there.

Lillian tried calling Mandy, but she soon found that her phone wasn't with her. She was so anxious that she almost called the police. However, she knew that the police wouldn't entertain a missing person's report unless the person had been missing for 24 hours. She didn't want to assume anything, so she held off calling Nathan too. She decided to just wait for Mandy at the villa patiently.
