Chapter 239 Pretend Not To Know

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
No one was perfect–everyone made mistakes, just like Nathan and her. They would quarrel and butt their heads, but when they were away from each other, they would calm down and realize that their love for each other was stronger than these petty fights. It worked the same way with friendship as well. As long as one remained loyal and was ready to own up to their mistakes, with the willingness to change, it was worth forgiving them.

Mandy decided to give Cassie a chance. She believed that Cassie would realize her mistake and change her ways. Until then, Mandy would pretend like she knew nothing about it.

"Mand, why are you talking like this all of a sudden?" Cassie tightened her fist and bit her lips so hard that she could taste her blood. Her face turned pale.

'Did Mandy find out the truth? Were her words secretly revealing her disappointment with me?' Cassie couldn't help but think that Eve had betrayed her.

'It is impossible. I'm still of great use to Eve. She wouldn't sell me out, would she?' Cassie thought.

Her mind was spinning, and she tried to calm down. She couldn't let Mandy find out the truth–she would lose a precious friend if she did.

Cassie had done a terrible thing, but the consequences were trivial. Guilt was consuming Cassie, and she couldn't look Mandy in the eye.

"What do you mean by why? Didn't you say that your life wasn't good? It was a casual statement. I just hope you always remember that we are good friends. Don't forget it."

"Of course not. How can I forget it? I am incredibly lucky to have a friend like you." Cassie meant every single word she said.

Although she had agreed to work for Eve by giving away Mandy's information to her, she had always considered Mandy as her best friend. She was like a sister whom she could rely on.

Cassie was aware that she had been betraying her best friend, but she was left with no choice–she needed the money. Fortunately, Cassie had not spent the money and, therefore, had decided to return it to Eve.

The daughter of the restaurant's owner came at the right time–putting an end to Cassie's reverie–by serving their food. The awkwardness in the air was lifted for

, I don't know you personally. I don't think there would be any need for us to meet. Why don't you tell me over the phone, Miss. Su?" Bruce knitted his eyebrows. He felt that Eve had contacted him only to talk about Nathan and Mandy.

"You are a wise man, Mr. Xu. I will come straight to the point. I think we should work together to get what we need; what is ours." Eve's eyes were glinting with malice as an evil grin settled on her lips.

Bruce was a man of principle. Although he hated to see Mandy with Nathan, he would never do anything to hurt her.

"What is it?" Bruce replied hesitantly.

"Well, I haven't planned anything yet. It depends on the choice you make. You can meet me tomorrow if you are willing to join hands with me. I will wait for you at the Starbucks at No. 57, Anya Road, around nine in the morning. Does that sound good to you?" Eve asked sincerely.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow," Bruce confirmed. He was eager to find out what Eve was up to.

"Mr. Xu, you are outspoken, I like it. I'm sure that I've met the right person." Eve grinned happily.

It was late at night, and the air was stuffy. Mandy ran into the shower as soon as she returned home. When she walked out of the shower, she saw Fiona talking with Nathan over the phone.

Fiona's face broke into a happy grin when she saw Mandy. "Brother-in-law, my sister is here.

Hello, Sister. It is brother-in-law," Fiona said, waving the phone at Mandy.
