What else did Nathan know? Mandy's lungs constricted as panic surged through her veins. Mandy was afraid that Nathan would find out more about her secret. If Nathan started to believe that she had hidden everything away from him intentionally, then she wouldn't be able to explain herself.

"I don't know what you want to say and what you want to hide from me, but I have always known everything." Nathan's cold eyes peered into Mandy's face.

"Nathan, I didn't mean to hide it from you. You need to understand what I'm going through." Mandy was exhausted and wanted to curl into a ball and sleep until all her problems faded away.

"Mandy, I don't understand. He hurt you. How could you be kind enough to forgive him?" Nathan was shaking with fury as the blue vein on his forehead popped. He wanted to send Daniel to jail right away, but he would be truly satisfied only if he crushed Daniel's bones with his bare hands.

"Nathan, we cannot afford to retaliate. It's entirely the Zhou Family's fault." Mandy's eyes turned red. She looked at Nathan with helpless eyes that were begging him to understand her situation.

"All right, your family owes him. But why should you pay him back? It's a grudge between the people of the previous generation. It had nothing to do with you. Stop carrying their burden on your shoulders." There was a murderous look on Nathan's face.

"Don't everyone have secrets? I know that even you have your darkest secrets, Nathan! Both of us have had previous relationships, and they are in the past. We have moved on and come a long way. Despite all the hurdles and heartbreaks, Mandy had fallen in love with Nathan. She didn't want to admit that she was in love with him as she wanted to keep her last touch of dignity intact. She was devastated when he broke up with her.

Her relationship with Nathan had not only hurt her, but he had also endangered her sister. Perhaps it was good for her to break up with Nathan. Then, she would go back to living a normal life at peace.

Mandy's vision was gloomy as her eyes were brimming with tears. She turned and walked away when a tear drop escaped from her eyes.

Nathan didn't go after Mandy. He hopped into his sports car that growled loudly and swept past her like a gust of wind.

Mandy had never thought that her relationship would have a bitter ending like this. She was walking aimlessly in the western suburbs.

Tears were streaming down her face.

Mandy felt dizzy under the blazing sun. Suddenly, her vision turned black, and her legs couldn't carry her any further.

She tried to stretch her hand and grab the nearest tree for support, but she lost her balance and fell on the ground with a sudden thud.

Her skin burned when it came in contact with the scorching road.

She fluttered her eyes shut, and her mind flitted in time to see Nathan storming towards her.
