Chapter 187: I alone Don't Level Up!

Elliot sighed. From the way they were barking at him, they almost fooled him into believing that they were going to summon Cthulhu or an Arch-Demon from Hell! However, what he got to face was utter disappointment.

He saw that these fools were planning to use the same tactics again to deal with him, and he sighed once again, an exasperated expression vivid on his face.

"I'm honestly so damn disappointed that I would've disowned all of you if I were your father. Serpentine Devils?! You guys should change your name to something that suits you. I believe "Pigs that only know how to Oink", "Ugly Bastards with no morals", "the eighth wonder of the world as in disappointment" would suit you. Actually, I have a thousand more recommendations for you guys. It will take an hour to list them all. So, how about you take a chill pill, lower your bows, and stop doing something so disappointing? I mean, you guys are using arrows! Arrows? Seriously? Are we living in the stone age? Or you guys are so damn poor that you can't afford modern magically engineered weapons of mass destruction?"

'Not once in their life had they seen a person as considerate as him. They were trying to drill a thousand holes in his body, yet he was kindly recommending great names to them. Was he some kind of saint or the reincarnation of Buddha?!' This was all in Elliot's head. He felt so smug with himself that he flashed a grin towards Benjamin and his low-level underlings.

The serpentine devils were also looking at him with intense murderous desires, almost as if they were staring at their worst enemy, one they refused to live with under the same sky. If looks could kill, Elliot would have already died with a thousand holes in his body. Meanwhile, Lucy and the others speechlessly stood behind him, silently watching the ongoing event as if they were watching a drama.

"Release!" Benjamin lowered his hands, signaling them to shoot him down.

"Rip that mother fucker apart!"

"Die, you dirty rat!"

Whoosh!

A thousand arrows once again shot towards him. What happened before happened once again. After the same thing happened five times, Benjamin gritted his teeth, looking quite vexed. The arrows had a price to their name. Each one costs a lot to produce. They had already wasted 5 thousand on him, incurring a huge loss. If he continues to shoot arrows at him, then even if he completes the mission, the higher-ups would find trouble with him. Instead of a promotion, he might get a demotion.

"Are all Serpentine Devils the same?" Elliot said in a voice filled with annoyance. He had been doing the same thing for the past five minutes, and that was enough to bore him to death. "Don't you guys have eyes?! Does having scarlet eyes make you blind? Can't you see that shooting me down with some playthings isn't going to work?! Could it be that worshiping the serpent caused you guys to lose your brain cells?! After all, only stupid bastards would do something like what guys had done. Your parents must really be ashamed of you all. If they knew that they were going to give birth to disgrace like you, they would've settled for abortion."

His words were poisonous, overflowing with venom. One must know that serpentine devils raped, killed, and did everything evil, and that's how they prayed to their God. So, no sane parents would want to have a child like such.

Among them, some were disowned by their parents; Some were almost killed by their parents; Some had to kill their parents to join the evil organization. One could say that their parents were their sore points, and Elliot had intentionally poked said point to make them go furious.

"Y-you bastard! Don't get cocky! We're thousand in number. What do you have? Among you guys, only you can fight. The rest don't even have magic energy to manifest their superpowers. They are only a few times physically better than human meat. We will keep on attacking you, and soon, you will have no magic energy in your body! Then, you wouldn't be able to use your superpower. That's when you'll die. You're all alone, you dirty dog! Y-"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Before Benjamin could out in the classic villain line "You will die," Elliot started laughing at the top of his lungs. His laughter was out of place. It should be them laughing right now, not him! What the heck was wrong with this world?! Simply bewildering!

"Alone? Who told you that I am by myself? Are you crazy?"

"Huh?!" Benjamin's eyebrows raised.

"Can't you feel it? The trembling of the land! The cries of the wind! Can't you see it?" Elliot said in a voice filled with happiness, madness, and joy surging in his bright eyes, "The approaching army of beasts?"

Those words had just left his mouth when a mighty roar reverberated throughout the forest. The trembling of the land intensified. One could even hear the sound of stomping. The eyes of the thousand serpentine devils, as well as Lucy and the others, widened to complete circles as a snake with two wings roared and descended next to Elliot.

"ROAR!"

"AWOOOOO!"

"OINK!"

"KI KI!"

At the same time, the trees behind them crumbled to the ground, and out came hundreds of thousands of beasts. At their helm stood a 5-meter tall and 3-meter wide monster with a pig head, an 8-meter long Dire wolf with grey furs and red eyes, a Tiger with Silver wings, and a Hobgoblin with two horns on its head.

They came to a halt several steps behind Elliot, acting as if they were waiting for his command.

The mouths of the onlooker dropped to touch the ground, and their eyes popped out of their sockets. They were so shocked that they made the impossible possible. Standing on their spot, with legs shaking uncontrollably, they looked at Elliot as if they were looking at a monster and not a human.

Elliot's eyes squinted, a sly look appearing on his face. He wasn't confident enough to fight a thousand magicians all by himself. In all honesty, he wanted to buy time for Grae to appear with her army. Who would know that those fools would keep on using arrows that he could easily break again and again instead of making a move by themselves? Well, their arrogance just made things easier for him.
