Chapter 135: Spirit Tree (b)

Why? It had realized that he wasn't someone it could mess with without suffering heavy consequences. If it could easily kill him, it wouldn't have retreated so easily. But now, it didn't want to fight him anymore. After all, it didn't have the determination to fight to the death.

"Do you think you can come and go as you please? Since you've attacked me, you better give up your life!"

Stamping his feet on the ground and moving his body around the trunk of the trees, he chased after the branches.

The spirit tree that was camouflaging itself in the center of the trees that looked like it sensed him chasing after its branches.

It knew that if he founds out where it was hiding then things won't end well for it.

Left with no choice but to fight, it directed the spiritual energy into the azure spirit marks at the center of its trunk.

The very next instant, it brightened up, and a clear, crisps noise sounded out, echoing far and wide, reaching even Elliot's ear.

Vroom!

Before he knew it, a green circle with countless speckles of light appeared below his feet.

In the blink of an eye, each of these bean-sized speckles turned greed, and when he noticed that, the hair on the back of his neck stood on edge. It was as if terrifying things were going to burst out of the green specks of light.

Trusting his basic instinct, he pressed his feet against the ground and jumped backward, leaving the circle in the split of a second. Right after, his instinct proved to be true.

The specks of green burst into several dozen green vines, and each of them charged towards him. A weird liquid oozed out of them, looking similar to a person's puke.

When that liquid dropped to the ground, it melted the leaves and also the rocky surface, creating a depression of 3 meters.

Elliot saw numerous of such poisonous vines coming towards him and he realized that the spirit tree had abandoned all ideas of hiding itself and was instead coming at him with all its strength, and this made his lips thin into a murderous smile of excitement.

Now, as long as it keeps on attacking him, he would eventually be able to trace one of its attacks back to it. When that time comes, he will repay everything to it tenfold.

As the vines came closer to him, he leaped back. He didn't believe that the poisonous biles secreting out of the vines could hurt him because he had immunity to poison, but the murky and grayish bile was hot and corrosive. He didn't have any immunity against toxins and heat! He would be injured if they landed on him. Of course, he could waste his essence of life to create a shield. But why use that when he can outrun the opponent's attacks?

Although the spirit tree was far away from Elliot, it could still sense him. Naturally, it's because it didn't use its eyes to locate him. Instead, it used its spirit senses to feel where he was and what he was doing.

As it saw it retreating from its attacks, it poured more units of its spiritual energy into the spirit mark, which increased the speed of the vines.

The vines speed doubled, and they moved towards him very quickly, and this surprised him.

Several vines came towards him, but he jumped to the right, causing them to miss him by a few inches and stab the trunk of a tree that was unfortunate enough to be behind him.

The vicious vines branched out of its back and swept towards him from the right. At the same time, dozens of vines swept towards him from the right.

He didn't have any other choice but to activate one of his two powers. Without a doubt, he chose to use the one that consumes more time to create but uses less essence of life.

<You've entered Super God Mode>

<All your stats are doubled>

<Your agility has surpassed 100 points>

The moment fifty units of the godly energy in his body melded with his body, veins, and internal organs, causing his agility to surpass a hundred units, his entire world changed.

The vines that were whipping towards him from both sides seemed to slow down considerably in his eyes, enough for him to determine their trajectory.

As the vines inches closer to him, he started to move. He maneuvered his body to the right, evading three vines before maneuvering his body to the left, causing seven more to miss him and slap the ground right next to his feet.

He brandished his swords at them, cutting them down but also causing the murky, grayish to burst outwards towards him.

Although caught off guard, he was still able to react.

Elliot simultaneously raised both of his hands in a defensive position, and at the same time, he released golden energy from both his hands that turned into a shield with a single thought.

The poisonous, corrosive, and hot gushes of murky liquid splashed on his shields, melting them at a rate visible to the eyes.

Before they could melt entirely, he jumped forward, saving himself from the liquid that splashed on the each he was standing a moment ago.

He didn't even get the time to breathe when a total of fourteen vines came towards him from the left and right the moment one of his feet touched the ground.

He pressed that very foot on the ground and jumped upwards. The vines clashed with each other beneath him and generated winds that burst outwards and upwards, winds that he used to push himself upwards and away from the vines while slashing his swords towards the vines.

His swords pulsated, releasing a golden arc of sharpness that charged towards the vines, reaching them in a moment and cutting them apart as easily as a hot knife passing through butter.
