Chapter 127: Fighting with Sword and Tongue (b)

"Let me see if you got the strength to back up your arrogance." Elliot's feet pressed on the floor, and the muscles of his arms bulged as he also used all his strength to push the swords against him.

A few moments passed by, yet both sides didn't gain a visible advantage.

Elliot shoot it a glance and spoke the following words, "Why don't you use both of your swords?"

"Because I don't think I need to (use both my swords to defeat you as just one is enough)." The statue said in a voice overflowing with arrogance and confidence as the glow in its eyes turned a shade darker.

From the changes in its eyes, Elliot determined that it was about to use the power of one of its seven magic matrixes. So, he also came up with a picture in his mind and channeled the essence of life into his divine matrix to materialize it.

"Divine Spirit Burst!"

An instant after saying those words, as it channeled ten units of spirit energy in its first magic matrix and lost half of its remaining lifespan, an emerald energy burst out of its silver sword.

"You aren't the only one with powerful sword moves!"

Right at that time, a huge amount of golden energy burst from Elliot's swords and clashed with the incoming emerald energy.

The two types of energies clashed with each other in mid-air, creating a buzzing sound that echoed throughout the far reaches of the corridor.

Bomb

Emerald and golden waves burst out as an explosion occurred at the point of impact after a few moments, and both parties took a few steps backward.

A smile crept on the statue's face as it said gleefully, "It's been too long since I met someone so amusing, and now I want to defeat you at all cost. I will be giving my all to achieve my last wish."

Elliot also smiled, as thanks to his godly right eye, he found out that the statue only had around a dozen units of spirit energy left in its body, and once it uses it all, it would breathe its last.

He brandished his swords at it, saying quite blatantly, "Like hell I would let you do that."

The copper statue did not take well to his words and immediately responded by stepping up and using both of its swords to slash at him. Not only were its attacks too fast and sudden, but Elliot was also in the reach of its swords. Thus, they reached his chest instantly. Just as the swords were about to give him fresh scars on his chest, a wave of golden energy flooded out of his chest and smashed on the tip of the swords, tilting them to the sides. To Elliot's surprise, the copper statue instantly rotated its wrist and tilted the swords sideways, swiping them down towards him once again.

Clank!*

He managed to use his swords to block them at the very last moment, but the force behind its attack was so strong that he got lifted off his feet and thrown backward. While still in mid-air, he spun around and landed one of his feet on the ground, still sliding backward. He landed the tip of his swords on the ground, which resulted in sparks fluttering about and him coming to a halt quite gracefully.

"Clumsy." The copper statue taunted Elliot by using a single word.

Elliot smiled back, but this smile was anything but friendly. He thought about achieving God Mode, and the God's Qi in his magic matrix entered his body through the back of his right arm and integrated with his skin, veins, flesh, and organs.

<You've activated God Mode>

<Your physical capabilities have doubled>

<Strength: 42 (temporary)>

<Stamina: 32/44 (temporary)>

<Agility: 50 (temporary)>

"Come at me before you end up breathing your last. Let me give you an unpleasant memory to accompany you through your walk in the netherworld," Elliot said while giving it a middle finger.

"You'll be accompanying me."

The two sides rushed towards each other, entering the range of their weapons in the blink of an eye, and then they exchanged several moves, each causing a clanking sound and leaving behind blurred flashes.

In a total of nine exchanges, the copper statue didn't manage to land a single hit on Elliot's body or push him back. However, Elliot landed a hit on the copper statue three times. The rest of the exchanges ended in dodges and parries.

The copper statue's eyes widened in surprise because Elliot had suddenly become so much more powerful and faster than before.

Simply Unbelievable!!

Just how the heck is something so incredulous possible? It has never seen a person becoming strong and then even stronger in a single battle in its entire life!

Yet, that something was now happening right in front of its eyes!

"Consecutive strikes!"

The copper statue used the sword in its right arm to slash at him and use the sword in its left hand to thrust at him, but although its moves were extremely fast and eccentric, Elliot managed to see through them. He managed to determine the path they would take to reach him, the path that they would take to reach him, and he maneuvered his body to its extreme limits to step out of their trajectory.

Some of the attacks went completely off the mark, and some missed him by a hairsbreadth. However, he dodged all of them. Maybe it was because he was far faster than the statue or maybe it was because he managed to determine their trajectory, but what he managed to do left his opponent shocked to the core.

As it overexerted itself, the copper statue lost several units of its spirit energy and became sluggish. The moment its attacking speed decreased, Elliot stepped to his right to dodge the sword slicing straight down towards him, stepped up, and counterattacked.

The copper statue was hit by his swords and got pushed off its feet. It came to a halt a moment later as its back crashed on the left wall of the corridor with a loud bang, then dropped to the ground with a dull thud.

Once again, Elliot managed to throw it away like a ragdoll.

"Clumsy," Elliot said while looking down at him.

The copper statue puked out an imaginary mouthful of blood.

It stood up and charged at him like a ferocious tiger.

Both moved as quickly as lightning, fighting with all of their might.

Of course, the weakened copper statue didn't stand a chance against the God Mode Elliot!

He used his sticks to give it a good beating, and with each strike that connected with its body, the copper statue lost half a unit of its spirit energy.

"I allow you to take my corpse as your reward."

After about thirty exchanges, Elliot's golden swords were so near its neck that its copper skin reflected them. Yet, it didn't budge even by a single inch. The dark glow in its eye sockets had already disappeared. With one sword in his hand and the other on the ground, the copper statue had lost its artificially created soul.
