Chapter 126: Fight with tongue and Sword (a)

The copper statue felt shocked to its very core because an attack from a magician in the magical realm threw it around like a ragdoll. The thing was that it also felt surprised to notice that the force behind his previous attack was far greater in comparison to the ones before, making it realize that Elliot hasn't been using all his strength to fight him.

"I didn't expect you to be able to play me to this extent. Compared to before, your strength is several times greater. Have you been hiding your power?" While saying those words, the statue pulled its wings out of the floor and stood up straight to face Elliot.

"Hide my powers? I've never hidden it. It's just you who are too weak now and no longer a match of a youngster like me! True, a thousand me won't be enough to defeat you if you were in your prime, but now that's no longer the case, and you know it. Your glory has already faded so had most of your strength. So, why don't you just give up and admit defeat?" With dim fire-like lights gracing his body and illuminating his figure, Elliot appeared to look like a regal in the eye of the statue as he spoke with utmost confidence.

Of course, he was confident that he had already won this battle, and he had reasons to back it up.

The seven magic matrices weren't what truly makes the copper statue powerful. Instead, it was spirit energy. Yet, it only had less than twenty units of it in its artificially created energy core, an item used to store different types of energy, including but not limited to electricity, spirit energy, and magic energy.

With this measly amount of spirit energy, it couldn't even realize 10-100th of the true powers of its magic matrices. So, what were the chances of it winning against him?

None!

No matter how great a magic matrix is, if its user is unable to provide it with an ample amount of energy, it's no different than a treasure that is used only for the sake of showcasing. Consider owning an electric car but having no electricity to charge it. It won't run. At most, the only thing one can do is watch it, nothing more!

Elliot and the copper statue both understand that although it has seven magic, each with its supernatural effect, the necessary energy required to use them to the 2-100th of their limit was missing. Thus, they were all useless!

"I do know that with little to no spirit energy left in my artificial energy storage, I, the guardian of the winged spirits, truly am unable to reveal the brilliance of my magic matrices. I know that I might fail to defeat you. I know that if I keep on fighting, I will waste all my spirit energy in minutes and breathe my last. I know all that, but I wish to fight till my last breath, and that's what I am going to do."The statue said while giving him an adamant look.

Suddenly, it jerked its hands, and right after his hands finished moving up than down once, the outstretched feathers of the wings gathered close to each other, which resulted in its wings appearing off as twin swords that were of silver color and reflecting extreme sharpness.

"Fulfill my selfish wish, human!" It stomped its feet on the ground and leaped towards Elliot, eyes burning in the color of abyssal night.

Damn! Elliot sighed as he didn't want to fight the copper statue. Fighting it meant wasting more of his essence of life, after all. But now, he had no choice but to squander his hard-earned essence of life, so that he won't get killed by it and fight it to its last breath.

Since he had no choice but to fight, then he might as well enjoy it.

"If it's a sword fight you want, then a sword fight is what you will get."

He knew that defeating it and crushing its pride would make him feel an odd sense of satisfaction, which would double if he best him in a sword fight.

That's why he decided to best him using swords.

"Heavenly Berserk Slash!"

The copper statue crossed the distance between them with a single leap, and then it brandished one of its silver swords at him. It came cutting through the air, slicing towards the right side of his body, seven inches above his thighs, and Elliot didn't doubt that it was sharp and strong enough to cut through his waist as easily as a hot knife passing through butter.

Before the sword could reach him, Elliot created two golden swords of his own and brought them to his right to parry the incoming sword.

The divine matrix absorbed seven hundred units of the essence of life to create each of the divine golden swords, costing him a total of two thousand units. Thus, they were ridiculously strong. However, he was now only left with a hundred units of the essence of life that he could still use.

"Ting!" When his swords clashed with the statue's sword, each sword vibrated, creating a slight buzz. Both sides didn't budge even a single step away from their position, which just goes to show that their attacks were equals in strength.

"Cool name for such an ordinary attack. You sure you aren't high?" Elliot taunted with a smile.

"When I was in my prime, this very move was enough to stop the advancement of an army of ten thousand strong men!"

Feeling taunted by Elliot's words, the statue scoffed and pushed its sword forward using only one arm as it looked at Elliot with an inky, black gaze that seemed to be saying that it will crush him without using his second sword.

Arrogant!

Its behavior was emitting an extreme level of arrogance!

Elliot humphed but did not say anything.

In his mind, he scoffed at the foolishness of the statue. If it wasn't foolish, then it wouldn't be holding back. However, because it was prideful and stupid, it didn't bring its other sword into the fight, and that will be the reason why it would once again be treated like a ragdoll by him.
