Chapter 282: Straight!

The clouds covered the sky. As it was night, they glowed beautifully as moonlight cascaded down the air. The beautiful moonlight passed through the windows and poured into a room with many bookshelves, a firehouse, multiple sofas, and tables. It spread outwards, appearing no different from twinkling light streams that illuminated the entire place. It adorned the black hair of a person who was rummaging through the bookshelves in blinding silver.

"Start by memorizing all of these books." Pill Emperor said after placing dozens of books on the table next to Elliot.

Then, he turned to leave.

"Teacher, where should I look for you after memorizing them?" Elliot asked formally.

Pill Emperor took out a piece of paper, ripped it in two halves, and threw it to Elliot.

"The paper will guide you to me." After throwing these words at his new student, Pill Emperor opened the door, stepped out of the study, and closed it.

After seeing his teacher treating him like an outsider, Elliot clicked his tongue, "Sigh; it is hard to clear misunderstanding but easy for people to misunderstand others as evil."

Although it was an illusion that would end once he learned alchemy or after three years passed, he still felt bitter getting treated like the wind by another person even though he did nothing wrong. Still, he knew that if he were in his shoe, he would do the same. He shrugged negative thoughts off of him, thinking that he would prove with his actions that he genuinely was here to learn and not plot against or harm the celestial mountain.

He picked up the books one by one and flipped through them. The pill emperor thought it would take Elliot a year to learn them all. If he was diligent, then three or months. What he didn't know was that Elliot only needed one night to learn the dozens of thick books with tens of thousands of pages he had selected to keep him busy.

Why did he want to keep him occupied? The pill Emperor didn't want to teach his alchemy to Elliot as the pill emperor suspected that the other party came here with ill intent. He wished to determine whether he was a good apple or a rotten peach. For that reason, the pill emperor needed time, time to investigate, time to collect information about Elliot. By the time he would get all information about him, he would only finish reading the books. If he were here to study, he would teach him his skills. If he were here to plot, he would fight him.

The books he chose for Elliot explained a lot about alchemy. It also revealed highly guarded information related to unique fires and spiritual ice that one can find on different planets.

After Elliot memorized them all, he stood up, patted his butt, used the person finding paper to walk towards the Pill Emperor.

Of course, the pill Emperor didn't accept that the moment daylight hit the floating palace, Elliot would knock on his door.

He told him to come inside.

"What is it? Why are you disturbing me so early in the morning?" Pill Emperor asked after Elliot stepped inside and looked at him.

He was wearing pajamas and seemed to have just woken up.

"I came to inform you that I have memorized the books you gave me yesterday," Elliot answered after getting him with a smile and wishing him a good morning.

"Really?"

Unable to believe that someone could possibly learn around 150000 pages full of context in a single night, Pill Emperor started questioning Elliot.

Elliot gave answers to each of his questions, leaving the Pill Emperor in a state of perpetual shock. After three hours, he stopped testing Elliot. His eyes were as wide as the eyes of the many people Elliot had shocked back on Xavier when he looked away from Elliot.

After taking a few moments to think, the Pill Emperor came up with two plausible explanations as to how Elliot was able to do something that only those who have memorized those dozens of books could do. The first was that Elliot had already leaned them before coming here. The second was that Elliot was truly a genius with a brilliant brain.

"Teacher, is there something wrong?" Elliot saw that his complexion was somewhat pale, and to score some point, expressed some words of concern.

"Come here." Pill Emperor motioned him to come near him.

Elliot took a few steps and now stood beside him.

"Give me your hand."

Elliot: "…" ???

"Hurry up."

Because of the urging of the Pill Emperor, Elliot extended his hand towards him.

The pill emperor grabbed his wrist and closed his eyes. Then, he started using a mystic technique to determine Elliot's bone age.

"Around 17 years old, too young, too young! How is it possible? He is already as strong as me, but he is only 17?! This doesn't make sense, no sense at all!"

The Pill Emperor screamed in his mind, his complexion turning even more ashen.

Was this what they meant by there is always a mountain beyond the mountain?

He had to struggle for numerous years to attain such a state.

Yet, the person behind him climbed up to the emperor's ranks before even becoming an adult!

The pill emperor felt as if nine heavens were playing a joke on him, telling him that what he achieved in his entire life was achieved by a person who hadn't even become a world.

He felt his word flipping beneath his feet.

"Teacher, can you let go?" Elliot asked, feeling that something was wrong.

Otherwise, why would a full-grown man grab his wrist for so long?

Pill Emperor turned to look at him with the most intense gaze Elliot had ever seen in his life.

It was at this moment that he realized what was going on!

"Teacher, you're handsome, but I am not interested in men," Elliot said.

Pill Emperor nearly choked to death on his saliva, "What nonsense are you spouting! I am as straight as an iron pole!"
