299 Cyrena's Order

CHAPTER 299

~CYRENA'S ROOM~

At another part of the palace, Princess Cyrena is seen sitting on one of the chairs in her living room facing a figure standing at a dark corner of her room, hidden by the veil of the night.

"What has been happening, Amelia? I rarely see you these days." Cyrena voiced out her complaints.

"Nothing princess. You just have not called for me, so I felt I was of no use to you for now."

Cyrena chuckled at her statement. Both of them were grown-up ladies and knew more than anyone the main reason why they had not seen each other.

Ever since she caught Amelia and Void fucking their brains out, she had kept a low profile and tried to contain her anger about the issue.

She was the least pleased about it. She felt Amelia should have known by now that she wanted Void for herself and not still go after him but what did she get?

She felt like she was stabbed in the back by her most trusted assassin.

"Is that so?"

"Pardon me, princess. But what do you mean?"

"Do not act dumb Amelia. How is Void?"

'So this is what this whole thing is about, huh?' Amelia thought to herself.

"He is doing fine, I guess."

"Hmm. Where is he?"

"Forgive me, princess. I believe I was not called here to ask about the whereabouts of Void. Besides, if her highness wants to really know about how he is doing, then her highness can summon him or visit his weapon shop. I believe you would not be disappointed when you go there."

Cyrena's voice changed as her brows creased. Amelia was playing her card so well and it was mega annoying. She had wanted to make her feel intimidated by her status as a princess but Amelia's sharp tongue would not let her succeed.

'Slutty slime!' Cyrena cursed inwardly.

"Fine. I did not call for you to discuss Void. Since you do not want to play, I would go straight to the order of business."

'Finally. I wonder who has angered her this time around.' Amelia took two steps forward but she was still clouded in the darkness, away from the light.

"Your order is quite simple."

'Thank goodness. The sooner I finished it, the quicker I can report back and disappear for some time.' Amelia concluded in her mind.

She knew Cyrena's jealousy was about to take over her and she was not willing to stick around to find out what would be the outcome of that jealousy.

"You are to kill the young general."

"What!"

"Did I stutter?" Cyrena's voice suddenly became very cold and distant.

Amelia blinked several times in the dark at the princess's weird request.

This was what Lorelei warned her about. Cyrena was nothing but trouble and Cullen went to anger the wrong set of people and this was the outcome.

And once Cullen is out of the way, Owen would be a free target and easy to plunder.

All these were too much for her right now. She needed to inform Lady Lorelei before something terrible happens.

"No, you did not stutter but may I ask why you want the young general dead?"

"Since when were you allowed to think, Amelia or ask questions? Your work is to follow my order, simple."

"It is not as simple as you make it seem, your highness. This is the youngest general we are talking about. In skills, he surpasses so many. He is highly liked by his majesty and he is the ward of her ladyship, Lorelei. Kindly reconsider your words."

Amelia could only plead on Cullen's behalf right now. She would say anything for Cyrena to recind her order.

"My order remains unchanging, Amelia. Kill the young general and I can relieve you of your service to me after that."

An eerie silence enveloped the room and no one spoke again.

Amelia knew that from that point onwards, she had to choose her words carefully or else this crazy princess order something stupid.

After some time, she could no longer keep silent and decided to speak her mind.

Taking a couple of steps forward towards where Cyrena sat down, Amelia stepped feom the dark and unto the lit part of the room till she was just a few inches away from Cyrena.

Cyrena had an Indifferent expression on her face as she stared at Amelia, silently wondering want the other girl was up to.

Right before her eyes, Amelia knelt down on one knee and bowed down to her.

Cyrena who was not expecting this display of loyalty or whatever it was, was stunned by what Amelia did.

She quickly composed herself after letting her surprise show for some seconds and arched her brows at her.

"What is the meaning of this?" Cyrena asked, lifting her chin up as she spoke.

It took some seconds before Amelia finally voiced out her words.

"If your highness would not recind her order, then I am afraid I, Amelia would not be able to serve you and do according to that which you have ordered."

"Amelia, what is this?"

"I have my principles, Princess Cyrena. I would not kill except I see reasons to. Secondly, I would not kill the innocent and lastly, I do not want His Majesty and Lady Lorelei to be after me."

"Amelia!" Cyrena stood up in anger. Her face was blazed with rage as her hands balled into fists and hands started shaking.

It was at this time Amelia raised her head to look at the angry princess.

"My apologies but I cannot carry out your order. I do not think you should do this, princess."

"And what makes you think that if you do not do it, someone else won't?"
