250 Avery's Plea

"My decision is final, Avery. No." Queen Aelinor finalized her decision, her eyes firm and held a strong sense of authority in them.

When Aelinor was like this, no one could change her mind. Seeing she had gotten to the dead end with her mother, Avery turned around to face her only hope. As she did her white and green flowing gown moved along with her.

Puffing her cheeks, Avery stumped her foot hard against the ground and made her way over to where her father, King Regin sat on his thrown with one hand supporting his chin and the other leisurely tapping away in silence.

"Father!" Avery called out raising both hands and letting them fall at her side carelessly, causing her dress to lift up a bit.

"Yes, dear?"

"Father, do something. I want to go too. If you give the word I would catch up with General Aelfdene and the others. Say okay to this request too."

Knowing fully well that as the only female child, her father could not refute her plea, Avery put on her best pleading performance in front of her father.

She looked extremely cute just standing there in her lovely V low cut dress. Unfortunately for her, the days were by her father was moved by such had gone.

Not that he did not fall for her quirks, anytime she used such pleading voice and look, this was different. One wrong move and choice and his wife and queen would never forgive him.

It took him twenty years and more to get her to forgive him and open her heart to him as he did too.

Twenty years filled with guilt of the death of his son. Twenty solid years of loneliness. He could not venture into that life again just because his daughter asked for something risky, ignoring her life in the process, just so she can prove herself to her brother.

No, just no… There was no pleading that would make him break.

'Forgive me, Avery. We do this because we love you."

"No, I won't forgive you, father. Just let me g and I would do all you ask of me. You need a royal there." She pleaded again, bringing up the same line as before.

"Yes and we have one sent already," King Regin replied.

Both Aelinor and Avery eye's shot open at the same time. "What! We do?"

"Yes."

"Oh you mean brother? Blade? But Blade is stalking or tracking her from the shadows, what happenes if he is being found out?" Avery questioned her father.

King Regin sighed at his daughter's behaviour. "Look baby girl. It is not Blade I am talking about."

"Then who do you… wait a minute. Father!" Her mouth hung agape as her brain processed everything.

"What? Regin? You sent Terrence too?"

Sigh

"YES. I did."

"How could you do this to me?" Both of them asked in unison.

"Like you id, we needed a royal to lead the troop."

"And he is the most skilled, second to Blade. With Terrence, they would have an advantage. The hybrid won't see this coming."

"Oh no. How can you do this?" Both ladies lamented again, but for different reasons though.

Avery was angry that her father had sent her brothers and left her behind. On the other hand, eelinor could not believe her husband sent the only sosn she had to capture the dangerous and most powerful being.

"Father!"

"Regin!"

"Calm yourselves, you two. Why are you lamenting like it is the end of the world?"

"You promised not to allow such a thing to ever happen again," Aelinor countered him. "Why did you do this? Haven't I suffered enough?"

"Nothing would happen to either of them. I give you my word. This is war, not a child's play. Who better than Terrence to lead it as the Crown Prince?"

Regin got up from his seat and walked closer to both of them. He held Avery's hand and a small smile spread on his lips as he gazed lovingly at her.

Then he proceeded to where Aelinor was and did the same. " You all are my joy, my jewel and my life. I cannot shield them from the dangers of the world because we lost one. I cannot prevent their destiny. Terrence wanted to go and as Crown Prince, he is to lead troop this way."

"And Blade?" Aelinor cut in, asking.

Sigh!

"He needs to find his way and let go of his anger and guilt. Both of them need this, to let it out," Regin explained, his eyes darting between them as he spoke.

"Terrence would kill himself if anything was to happen to you, Avery and you won't think twice about risking your life for Blade."

"But father…"

"Let me finish. Blade won't hold back in going all out to take revenge and he would further be plunged into guilt and forever lost. At the end of it all, I would have failed as a father and King and lose all four of my children. Is that what you both want?"

None of them could answer him. As much as they did not want to believe or admit to it that it was true, it was the sad truth.

They both knew it deep down in their heat. Avery knew she would go crazy because of Blade and would not know what she would be doing anymore which would only end up causing a problem for Terrence who doted on her so much.

"No. So let them find their way. Terrence needs to do this to prove himself to his Kingdome. Blade needs this to let go f his rage. I have said this a lot today. I hope you try and see things from their point of view?"

Regin averted his gaze to his wife and gave her a questioning look, waiting for her answer. She simply nodded at him. He could see the look in her eyes. He knew it wasn't easy for her and she had her heart in her mouth now.
