195 I’ll Make You Pay For That!

CHAPTER 195

"Master, are you alright?" The little white Tiger-Phoenix asked, feeling worried about her.

"I am fine. My body is healing on its own. And you?"

"I am okay, my body would expel the poison when I spit out my flames," the little beast replied to her in a confident tone as it snarled at the incoming danger.

"Fine then, stay back. I would handle her."

Before the little beast could reply, Astrid's shadow was all it could see as she sprinted to the side, away from it and drawing all the possible danger to herself.

Several dark pink light balls were hauled at Astrid as she ran, but she dodged everyone of them effortlessly. Due to her breakthrough, her powers had increased and her speed doubled.

She now had better and sharper reflexes than before, making her on a different level with Lorelei but the wicked mage also had several tricks up her sleeve.

She too had upgraded her game as well.

She threw more waves of attacks at Astrid and Astrid repelled and sent her own strikes at her.

Snow who had been waiting for an opportunity to use its flames, found the perfect opportunity when Lorelei was left wide open in her defense and focused on attacking Astrid.

The moment its flames touched her cloak, it burnt the material and part of her leg. She quickly used her powers to extinguish the flames and glared daggers at the little beast.

"I'll make you pay for that."

She turned her head towards Astrid and raise several boulders of magic at her. While Astrid was busy with dodging and destroying the magic boulders with her flame, Lorelei fixed her gaze back the little beast.

"Shade my day, light by night, make my will in full bloom light. Het merche sier, God of storms, aid me to conjure Weatherly forms, winds that sweep, like non untold, make them swam!!"

By the time Astrid destroyed the magic boulders and directed her gaze at Lorelei, her whole body stiffened for some second before she got herself back.

Immediately, Lorelei finished chanting her spell, she directed her hand at Snow and a terrible huge storm rushed up to the animal.

Astrid who has just finished destroying the magic boulders returned her gaze back to Lorelei. Her whole body stiffened for a second when she saw the huge storm Lorelei created and directed it at Snow.

Snow flared his wings as it stood its ground against the incoming storm. Astrid knew it wouldn't make it against such storm, before she knew it, it was engulfed by the storm and started to shift backwards due to the shear force.

Swoosh!

A shadow flashed passed Lorelei's eyes and the next thing she saw, Astrid was already in the midst of the storm with the little White Tiger-Phoenix beast in her hands.

Locked in with no way out, Astrid used her other hand to shield her eyes from the dirt the storm carried with and before she knew it…

"Aahhhh!!"

She was swept up by the storm. Lorelei tried controlling it to hit her against a block or something and make her pass out. Unfortunately, she lost control and the storm swept Astrid and the little White Tiger-Phoenix beast into the mist.

At the very same moment, Jareth arrived, not too far from them.

"Nooo…"

With outstretched hands, Lorelei screamed at the top of her lungs. She had failed again. There was no way she could get back Astrid without waiting for her to either come out of going in herself.

She was not going for any of the options as both possessed a great treat to her.

"Astrid!"

He yelled her name, not believing his eyes with what had happened.

Quickly, he increased his speed and before it was up to a minute, he was already down, charging towards Lorelei. All she could see was a shadow flashed passed her and he was already within a few feet away from her.

He took his bow and an arrow and aimed it right at her.

Swoosh!

"Meddling elf, you should accompany her as well."

She used her magic to destroy the arrow shot at her. She turned on her heels and began raining dark pink magic balls at Jareth.

He kept on dodging her attacks and shooting his arrows at her.

"Just die already!"

She screamed at him and sent several magic boulders on him. As he dodged them, she used her powers to form a hand and grabbed Jareth, flinging him into the mist as well. Before he was thrown into the mist, he aimed at her one last time and released his arrow.

"Good riddance," she said to herself as a triumphant smile spread across her face.

Her smile dropped the moment she felt a sharp pain at her thigh. Jareth had managed to land a hit.

Her eyes popped open when she noticed the wound around the arrow darkened.

"He poisoned me. Damn that elf!"

***********

~ELVEN FOREST – TUNNEL~

It had been a day and some hours since General Aelfedene and the others ventured into the tunnel. Fortunately for them, they weren't injured, so they were faster on their journey than Astrid and her friends ever was.

"No sign of them yet!" Borak lamented to himself.

He had got to admit, but with the way they were going, it was as though they weren't making any progress.

"We must persist. I believe that the hybrid and that traitor took this path," Aelfdene said with a firm resolve. He narrowed his eyes as he looked ahead.

"True, General Aelfdene, but what if they have gone and we couldn't catch them in time?"

"Shh!"

Aelfdene placed his finger on his lips to hush them, making everyone stop dead in their tracks.

Their eyes darted amongst themselves before coming to land on Arelfdene's back in front of them.

"What is it?" Lyklor asked.

Aelfdene took a long sniff, before exhaling gently and turned his head to look at them.

"I smell something."
