194 We Meet Again, Hybrid

CHAPTER 194

Immediately Astrid turned around and left Jareth, she hurried in her steps, urging the little White Tiger-Phoenix beast to do same.

By the time they had gotten to a considerable distance away from him, she stopped abruptly. Her eyes watered with each passing second as the tears threatened to break free from the constraints holding them.

Slowly she reached up with her right hand and allowed her fingers to lightly brush over her lips as her mind drifted back to the kisses they just shared.

"Do you really love him so much?"

It was the little White Tiger, its voice ringing in her head loud and clear. Its gaze went up to her face, awaiting her answer.

"It doesn't matter anymore," she replied the little beast absentmindedly.

"If you love him so much, then why did you part with him?"

"It is not like I can stay or go back with him, so why are you asking like you do not…"

Just then she stopped talking and her eyes drifted away to the side. Snow who was not looking at her face was waiting for her to complete her sentence.

"Master, when I do not know what?"

It didn't get any reply.

He called out to her again, but nothing. That was when he lifted his head to look at Astrid's face and noticed she was looking in a certain direction.

They had no noticed it since because they were occupied with talking about her and Jareth. Right now they were standing beside another entrance to the Valley of lost souls.

Astrid's gaze was completely fixed on the white mist covering the entrance. When Snow saw this, it tugged on her gown relentlessly, all the while screaming her name in her mind.

Seconds later, she blinked and immediately pulled back in shock. Her eyes moved down to her dress and it met with Snow's.

"Master! Master! Can you hear me?" It called out again.

"Yes. What just happened?"

"I do not know. I should be asking you. One minute we were talking and the next you blanked out, staring at the mist so intently," Snow quickly explained to her, his mouth still held unto her dress as it blinked at her.

"I heard a voice and the minute I turned to look at who was calling me, I noticed the mist and that was it."

"We need to leave this place quick, master. Jareth was right. It is dangerous."

"I agree, let us leave," Astrid said out loud to the beast and it nodded in agreement.

"You are going nowhere."

Both of them turned their heads at once to the direction the voice was coming from.

"You really are a hard one to find but I found you irrespective."

Standing not too far away from them was a hooded figure on one of the huge stones around. From the voice, Astrid could well guess it was a female.

"Who could it be? The Elven Princess?" Snow asked through their mind link.

"Contemplating where you have met me before?"

Astrid frowned at her correct guess, her right leg moved forward as her fist formed into a ball by her side and her eyes squinted to look at the person through the hood.

"No need to frown. It is written clearly on your face."

With that, she pulled her hood off to reveal her face to them.

"Ahh!"

As soon as Astrid saw the face hidden in the hood, her eyes widened in shock for a split second and were quickly replaced with a deep frown.

"You!"

Her voice came off loud and laced with malice. She knew this lady, she just didn't know her name. It was the very same lady who had kidnapped her and Snow when they got close to the forest peak and subsequently got thrown into the mist which was used to test her intent and further went to complicate things for Astrid as she became scared of Jareth.

If not for White Wing and Glacier, she would not have been able to overcome her fear and put every one of them at risk. She really had a deeply rooted, hatred for this lady.

It was because of this lady that all of those problems had happened. Astrid didn't know her or what she did to offend the lady and considering she was a mage, she shouldn't be trying to harm Astrid, rather she should try to help her.

Little did Astrid know that she was deeply involved with the human king, thereby making her an enemy to the sorcerers. It was none other than Lady Lorelei.

"Yes, me. We meet again, hybrid. You are coming with me." A sinister smile flashed before her face as her hands glowed a dark pink, ready for an attack.

"You wish!"

Her frown deepened when she noticed Lorelei brought out something from her gown. Before she could react, she threw it at them.

Astrid and Snow, dodged backwards before the vial she threw hit the ground. Immediately it broke, a purple smoke rose from it and slowly moved into the air, diffusing with it.

Immediately Astrid and Snow breathed normally, it went in as well. They had thought that she missed and was safe, unknown to them it was her plan all along, all she wanted was for the vial to get close to them.

Astrid and Snow began to cough, she covered her mouth with her hand as the situation got uglier. Feeling a wet patch on her hand, she removed her hand from her mouth, only to be face to face with a red liquid.

"Poison."

"Fret not. It won't kill you, it would just weaken you for me to easily capture."

"In your wildest dreams," she replied to Lorelei and straightened herself. "Little Snow…"

Her eyes darkened as she spoke.
