35 Attack!

Anna covered her nose and tried to see who it was.

'Is it Bai Sheng?' She felt happier than she had ever been but it wasn't him though.

"Anna..." Li Chen ran towards the girl and hugged her tightly "I thought I lost you...."

He said before raising his head to examine her.

"Are you hurt anywhere?"

Anna shook her head "No, no I'm fine" she said before she began to cough, she couldn't stand the smoke anymore.

"I'll get you out of here so don't worry" Li Chen said, there was sadness behind those eyes, it made Anna scared.

"What exactly is going on?" Anna asked, Li Chen smiled sadly "The Duan base is under attack!"

"What?!" Anna was shocked, that was totally impossible!.

There was no way the Duan base would go down like this except if their opponents were like exceptionally strong. But who would want to attack?

"Who is attacking?"

Li Chen shook his head "We still don't know"

Li Chen covered the girl with his jacket before carrying her in his arms, "The building is going to collapse soon, when we get outside, I will tell you more" Anna nodded.

Anna looked at the once nice looking building, it was filled with smoke and some rooms had already burned down completely.

Her grip on Li Chen's neck tightened and he knew she was scared "Don't worry, it'll be fine"

Once they reached the main door, Li Chen groaned in frustration. The door was already blocked.

"What do we do now?" Anna stared at Li Chen's face.

Li Chen looked around the hallway, when be spotted what he was looking for he calmed down and stared into her eyes.

"Anna...." he smiled at her, Anna didn't know why he was being like this now. This isn't really the time to confess your feelings.

"I love you...." he said while walking towards the open window.

"I've been meaning to tell you, its quite unfortunate it had to be under these circumstances "

Li Chen sighed as he looked about the window, it was small but Anna's petite size could fit through, he nodded in satisfaction as he got ready to throw her out the window.

"Li Chen..." Anna clutched on his sleeves as she realized something

"You're not coming?"

Li Chen laughed and stroked her hair.....this might be the last time, he would be able to do this.....

"This style really suits you...." He say before kissing her forehead. "Don't forget me Anna....no matter what happens" Li Chen quickly took off the bracelet from his wrist and gave it to her.

"Li Chen n...." Anna fell into the bushes in front of the window so her landing was not that painful.

Anna didn't care about anything at the moment as she kept calling Li Chen's name.

She didn't get an answer, she began to panic. 'Did he just sacrifice his life for her's?, but she isn't worth it! he should have just left her to die....why would he?...' Anna sobbed uncontrollably, she passed out not long after silently calling out his name.

"Where's Anna?" Bai Sheng asked su Chen who was currently standing at the entrance of the dorm.

He had just finished fighting off at least 5 guys and although he was exhausted, she was his first priority.

"Li Chen went in there to get her...." Su Chen said, he looked unsettled.

"Li Chen has asthma Bai Sheng, and I couldn't stop him....."

Bai Sheng clenched his fists, their opponents really planned this attack. They came when everyone was vulnerable and tired. He was really angry, he wanted to rip all of the attackers to shreds!

"I'll go get them....wait here!" Bai Sheng instructed before going in.

"Bai Sheng don't...." Su Chen sighed, no one was listening to him at the moment....what the heck!

Su Chen saw a shadow falling from the small window.

He went towards it curiously..."Anna!"

The girl's face was pale and her eyes were closed shut. She seemed to have injuries all over her body, he looked up at the window, he couldn't see anyone.

Su Chen carried the girl back to the front of the dorm and tried to wake her up.

"Anna!....Anna!...dolly...."

"Stop calling me a doll..." Anna said in a hoarse voice, she coughed a few times while Su Chen helped her to sit up and continuously patted her back.

"I thought Li Chen went in there to get you....where is he?"

hearing his name Anna began to panic again.

"Right!...we have to go in there, he will die in there. This is all my fault....if only I could walk....I wouldn't have slowed him down..." Anna said sobbing.

Su Chen tried to console her but she still refused to stop.

"You shouldn't worry, Bai Sheng went in there to get him....he'll be fine."

Just when he finished his words, Bai Sheng came out with Li Chen next to him.

Both men looked exhausted but they were both staring at the same person at the moment, not worrying about their states at all....

"Anna....."

Anna raised her head and stared at Li Chen's smiling face.

SLAP!

"...." everyone looked at Li Chen dumbfounded, Li Chen held his aching cheek and looked at the girl in confusion

"Do not ever do that again!" Her eyes were cold as she stared at him. She didn't like that feeling.

Someone did that same thing for her.....on the day of her accident, that man died for her. She had been blaming herself till this day, she didn't want anyone to die for her...

"I am not worth it....." Anna said.

Li Chen shook his head "Anna of course you're..."

"Shut up!.....I said don't ever do it!" Anna grabbed his shoulders.

All three of them became confused at the girl's sudden outburst. Normally people should be saying thank you right?....

"I can't have another person die because of me...I can't! " Li Chen got startled when he saw her tears.

"Ok.....Ok Anna. Just stop crying"

"It's good you don't want anyone else to die because of you....it will make things much more easier for me....."

That voice...Anna shivered, he was here?.....how did he know he was here?.....

Expecting her silence the man spoke up again "Come on Anna.....That is no way to greet your father.....My darling daughter, I've come to take you home!"
