34 Awkward Staying Next To Him

"Bai Sheng?" Anna called out again, he had been standing there staring at her for over a minute now.

"Ahem!" Bai Sheng cleared his throat awkwardly, he still didn't know where to start.

"Uh...About last night.....I..."

"About last night....." Anna sighed before she continued "I think we should both forget it happened and I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable last night. I promise that it won't happen again" Anna said with a forced smile. 'I have to move on, move on Anna'

Bai Sheng sighed "Anna, I wanted to apologize about last night, I....shouldn't have raised my voice. I know I hurt you yesterday which is why I can't forget it like you asked, I would like to...."

"Would you please stop giving me hope?" Anna suddenly said confusing Bai Sheng

"Wh....What?"

"I beg you...." Anna looked down, hiding her tears "Please stop being so nice to me it confuses me!"

Bai Sheng heard her shaky voice and he knew she was crying.

"Anna....." Bai Sheng squatted down to see her hidden face clearly.

"Do....do you know why I always avoid women?"

Anna looked up at him, he was right in front of her yet she felt so awkward being next to him. What was he trying to say? that she repulsed him?

Still she shook her head, she wanted to hear him out. She didn't really have a choice, he looked so gentle this morning...'Ai! Anna! Focus!'

"There was a woman.....she was the most beautiful, that was what I thought though..." Bai Sheng sighed, whenever he saw her like this, his walls always came crumbling down. He wanted to tell her everything, he didn't know why but he felt that he needed to explain everything to her.

"I trusted her....very much and she betrayed me. She was the person I was closest to, the person I gave all my trust to but.....after so many years, it turned out everything was a lie" Bai Sheng had a bitter smile on his face, he didn't want to explain in detail but he was still going to clear this misunderstanding.

"After she....left, I got really sick. It was a very traumatic experience for me and that was when I started avoiding women, because I didn't trust them, because to me....all of them are the same"

Anna's heart felt heavy, so this was why Chesa told her not to confess.

He must have been so hurt, to have the person he trusted the most betray him. She knew that feeling.

"But I am not like them....."

"I know that Anna, you're not!" Bai Shengstared into her green eyes and came to a decision, he wouldn't let his past continue to define his future.

"I know.....you're different Anna, you're special" Bai Sheng cupped her chin, Anna was surprised by his actions. 'What is he trying to do?' she thought, her heart beating faster every passing second.

"Everything I said last night was because I was scared, because I was afraid of going through it again....Anna I...."

Anna's eyes widened, she quickly covered his mouth with her palms in panic.

"Bai Sheng?" Li Chen stared at the two people who were currently in an awkward position.

Bai Sheng looked at Anna in confusion, he would never really understand women, he thought.

Anna took her palm off Bai Sheng's lips and smiled brightly and Li Chen.

"Li Chen, you're here?" Anna said distancing herself from Bai Sheng.

She felt so stupid at the moment, why didn't she think about this in the first place.

She was trying to get into a relationship with Bai Sheng when she knew that Li Chen liked her, if something like that happens....she would end up ruining a beautiful friendship.

Seeing her smile, Li Chen forgot all about his crazy thoughts and walked up to her "Jason said you didn't come for your exercises, is something wrong?"

"Ah..." Anna laughed "That was exactly what Bai Sheng came to ask, am I right?"

Bai Sheng looked at the girl in confusion 'Whatever just play along'

"Hmm" Bai Sheng nodded before standing up.

"Like I said, I'm fine. I just didn't feel like leaving the room today "

Anna said explaining herself 'again' to Bai Sheng.

Li Chen nodded "If that's the case then....I guess I should be heading back then, I only came to check on you" Li Chen smiled at the girl. He turned to look at Bai Sheng "Are you coming?"

Bai Sheng looked at Anna one more time before nodding "Sure let's go"

Anna saw his confused expression and she face palmed internally.

'Isn't he supposed to be smart enough to notice the situation?'

"Bye" Anna said waving at them, while Bai Sheng was still quiet and confused, Li Chen was waving back.

Anna sighed and went back in and that was when...she blushed.

"Was he really just about to confess to me?" Anna whispered to her self 'Omg! Omg!' She wanted to scream and jump and hug someone but....

Anna smiled so much that her face hurt but she didn't care 'He feels the same way, he does...'

Anna got back on her bed and closed her eyes, she wasn't planning on sleeping but to imagine their wedding instead...

And then she fell asleep with a huge smile on her face.

It was 9:00pm when it all started...

Anna was woken up by loud noises and screams.

Opening her eyes she realized that, the entire room was on fire!

"What the heck?" she got on her wheel chair and quickly went for the door.

''Crash!!''

Her path was blocked by a flaming wood falling from the ceiling.

Anna moved back to make sure she didn't get burnt but it was already too late for that.

Anna hissed in pain as she stared at her burnt arm, she was beginning to panic.

"Just what the hell is going on?"

Just then the door flung open.
