23 Blushing?

"Are you settling in nicely?" Bai Sheng asked. While in China, that was actually the thing he worried about most. That she might feel as if she doesn't fit in or that she might be uncomfortable with anything.

Thinking back to the words Nathan said to him about his worries, he quickly shakes his head.

'Impossible....totally!'

Anna played with her fingers and didn't stop staring at them, she didn't know why her face was still burning up.

"It has been good" she said in a low voice. She has actually been settling down quite nicely here, enjoying the company of Shola and Chesa everyday.

Although she had officially made a new enemy by just doing nothing.....well, she is too busy to care about all of the deathly glares Efya has been giving her.

"That's good" Bai Sheng breathed a sigh of relief. He remembered how hard it was for him to get used to this place when general Duan brought him.

He was worried her case would be the same.

"I....have to go now" Anna said not waiting for a reply before leaving. Of course remembered that she had to ask Nathan a few questions but, they looked so happy at the moment and she didn't want to ruin it.

And then there was the second reason she left, she was blushing.....

Nathan stared at the retreating figure of the girl intently, her face looked so familiar and she also knows who has father is...is she another spy sent by him?

"Anna isn't a spy if that's what you're thinking" Shola said to the man noticing that he was deep in thought.

"We can't be sure" he replied. His father would go through great lengths just to make him regret leaving the organization, even with a girl that looks as innocent as her. But that name.....that face.....why did it feel like it came with a memory?

Nathan's brows furrowed 'That's impossible!'

He quickly pulled out his wallet, he stared at the picture of him, Ella and Shola for a few seconds before bringing it out.

Underneath was another photo, it looked really old. Why wouldn't it be?, it was taken 17years ago after all.

It was a picture of him and his sisters. It was taken when he was still a teenager, his mother was standing in the middle no traces of a smile on her face and so was everyone. Except for her.....he was holding a toddler that looked up to a year old, she was smiling so brightly that it made the entire picture seem like it was really a happy family.

His hands reached for the toddler's face and a bitter smile appeared on his lips.

"I've never seen this photo before...." Shola said as she stared at it, she pointed at the little girl Nathan was carrying.

"Who is that?.....you have another sister? "

Nathan looked at his wife, "Had...." he forced out staring at the direction which the girl left from.

Yes.....he once had a little sister, when the old madam gave birth to her, she brought alot of color and joy back to the family. Everyone loved her so much, but unfortunately she died...his father just decided to spend a day with her that day and in the end....her little body was not found after the car was found below the cliff.

"Sorry" Shola said, she also wondered why he never mentioned this sister of his before.

"What was her name?" Bai Sheng asked taking the photo from Nathan's hands.

The old madam sure was lucky, all of her children got their eyes from her.

After hearing that question, Nathan realized how foolish he had just been.

That day, she went out alone with his father, the car mysteriously fell off a cliff although he had like tens of bodyguards in similar cars both in front and behind him.

He was too heart-broken to think about it then but.....her body was never found so does it mean that...that girl.

Nathan smiled, startling everyone. They only asked him a question, why is he smiling like an idiot?

"What way did she go?"

"Who?" Shola asked confused, Nathan shook his head and just bolted out.

He looked in all directions before following the route he knew she must have taken.

"Why is he in such a hurry?" Su Chen asked scratching his head.

"Beats me" Shola replied staring at his retreating figure.

"Phew!.....that was close " Anna breathed heavily as she held her chest.

"Stop beating so fast...its just a simple feeling of admiration ok!"

Chesa looked at her with a ridiculous smile on her face. "Nope, that is just the feeling of falling in love with brother Bai" Chesa coughed lightly before holding Anna and looking into her eyes with a serious expression.

"Do not worry though, all of the girls at base have gone through what you're going through now so don't worry" Chesa patted her shoulder "You'll live!"

Anna scoffed and turned away "What nonsense are you saying, I told you it's not what you think okay?!!" Anna touched her flushed and hit it twice.

"Snap out of it!.....snap out of it!" Chesa couldn't help but laugh at her little actions but soon there was a look of pity on her face.

"Too bad though, even with everything you feel for him, he will never be with any one"

"What do you mean?" Anna asked and quickly added "Not that I care who he dates, I am just asking"

Chesa smiled, the girl was totally infatuated with him.

"But there might be hope for you though,you are the first girl he has been so close to in years"

Anna couldn't stop herself from smiling, that means she was special to him.....

"But why will he never date anyone?"

Chesa looked at her with a serious expression "Heart break!"
