57 Crime Scene 1

Alyssa and her friends tagged the detective team till they have reached the Hotel Morrison and successfully checked in.

Alyssa then reserved a car under a false name and drove it to her villa in the heart of the King's Town where only houses of the royals are built.

"Whose house is this?" Jake asked surprised.

"Mine," Alyssa answered.

"So did you hack into their network or something to buy this land here?" He asked curiously.

Alyssa blinked her eyes in confusion but was unable to understand his question.

"Yes," Alyssa answered, thinking that maybe he was talking about the hacking she did just now into the camera feed of the area.

"Okay everybody, suit up," Alyssa instructed, passing a bag to Noah and Jake.

Noah was used to makeovers. He hurriedly put on his wig and Royal detective suit. This time his wig was of black color. Royal detective suit was made of leather pants and a leather jacket. It is of chocolate brown in color with a single gold stripe on both sides of the body, running from the armpit to the waist. There is a golden star made on the chest on the left side, near the heart. And a small royal emblem on the right side of the chest.

Noah used a green colored contact eye lens to match with Detective Jack. And drew a small brown-colored mole on his chin. He looked very handsome even with the mole.

Alyssa too did her makeup. Just like always, she made her skin look pale and used a sandy brown wig for her hair. She then gave herself a sickly and drunk look just like Detective Hector. She used a blue contact lens for her eyes and a black colored thick-framed spectacle to hide many portions of her face. The spectacle's lens had a black undertone so that her features were not seen clearly.

When Jake came out of his room, both Alyssa and Noah erupted in laughter. Alyssa was reminded of the time when she had first seen Noah after his makeover. She nudged Noah and said, "You were like him once, remember."

Hearing this a pink blush tinted Noah's cheek. "I was not." He said in mock anger.

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever you say to make yourself better." She said smirking ar him.

Jake was feeling very uncomfortable under their screening gaze. He coughed a little to hide his embarrassment.

"Don't mind him," Alyssa said, coming to his rescue. "He looked exactly like you when he did a makeover for the first time." She continued. "Now he has become better. You will become better too. Later." She said comforting Jake.

"Come on Allie, I was better than him." Noah protested.

"Whatever you say Sir Noah" Alyssa said sarcastically.

He was wearing a square rimmed spectacle and looked very much like a doctor.

"Ok, now perfume time," Alyssa said.

"Sorry, I am not wearing any perfume." Jake protested. He never liked wearing werewolf perfumes. The natural pheromones secreted by a vampire in itself works as a perfume. Their alluring smells are used to attract their prey.

"It's not just a perfume buddy. It will help you to mask your smell." Noah explained it to him.

"Oh." He said in acknowledgment of the fact. Then he looked at Alyssa and said, "Do you always wear this perfume?"

Alyssa was taken aback by his sudden question.

"Why would you ask something like this?" she asked in shock.

"It is just that, you don't smell like werewolves. You kind of smell like us, the vampires. So, I thought that maybe you were using this perfume to make my guard down."

This was a piece of news to Alyssa. She knew her smell was addictive and was not like any other werewolves, but she never thought it like this. Without Jake pointing out this to Alyssa, she would have never phantom this idea.

For the first time in her life, she doubted her birth. A werewolf having magic. A werewolf having the same pheromones that is of a vampire. Both of them were strange to her society. What is she? A witch, a werewolf, or a vampire? She didn't know the answer. But she knew that she was not ready yet to find them. Because all of her answers will take her away from the normal norms of the society. She will become an abomination to society and probably she had to give her life because of this.

Now is not the time to think about it.

She shook her head to let go of her unnecessary thoughts and focused on the problems in hand.

She gave a strained smile to Jake and said,

"No. no, I never used the perfume when I was with you. And this is my natural smell. And I am a werewolf, by birth. Both of my parents are werewolf." She said denying all the possibilities.

Jake felt strange with this information. He was confused. To him, Alyssa was a mystery. A very difficult yet interesting one. He thought he would be repulsed by her after what she did to him. But the more he knew her, the more he wanted to be with her to unlock this mystery. He knew deep down in his heart that Alyssa had not poisoned him, but even though after knowing it, he was willing to be with her and help her.

After applying the perfume, all of them got into Mercedes. After driving for half an hour, they arrived at the Street W.

****************************

They alighted from the car and approached the local police inspector placed on the crime scene.

"Hi. This is Detective Carlson from Royal Investigation Bureau and this is my teammates, Detective White, she said introducing Noah and there is Dr. Jake. We are here to take the case further from here. Thank you for keeping the crime scene undisturbed." She said.

Alyssa then showed them the document which stated that the case will be further taken by them.

"Hi, I am Inspector Fudge from Crime Bureau of King's Town. We were waiting for you. If you need our assistance just give me a call or visit our station." Inspector Fudge said drawing his name card from his wallet and giving it to Alyssa.

Alyssa took his visiting card and put it in her pocket. "Thank you for your assistance." She said politely.

After exchanging greetings, the local police vacated the place and Alyssa and her team members spread out to sweep the area.

"Why didn't you give me a fake name too?" Jake questioned Alyssa who was looking for the clues.

"Is Jake your real name?" Alyssa questioned

Jake remained silent.

"Thought so. That's why." Alyssa answered Jake's first question.

It is dumb to give a fake name to someone who already had a fake identity. He was a vampire so even if he tells them their real name, no one will detect him, unless and until they check the citizen file of Westeros, which is a difficult task. Nobody gets permission that easy to check the citizen file of some other country.

Alyssa and her team members were looking closely at every detail. They could see a heavy bloodstain at one place where the victim's throat was slit down. They could find a few drops of blood where the killer had drunk the blood of another victim.

"Look, here is blood too," Noah said pointing at the bloodstain on the leaf, away from the crime scene.

Both Jake and Alyssa rushed to the spot.

"How can be the bloodstain present here?" Alyssa said in wonder. The place was far from the crime spot and the victims were killed on the spot. So it was not possible for them to move around.

"Is this the killer's blood?" Jake questioned.

"Maybe. We will find out about it. Noah collect it." Alyssa said.

She had an instinct that she will find something related to the killer from this evidence.

Noah collected the leaf and put it in the clear plastic bag.

It was good that this evidence was slightly hidden and was far from the crime spot so it has not been tampered and had not caught anyone's attention.

"Spread out, we will surely find something related to the killer. I think this time the killer had made a mistake." Alyssa said gleefully.

They spread out and searched the area for about two hours, but to their horror, they couldn't find any concrete evidence against the killer.

They were tired.

"Let's go. We will again come tomorrow and do the sweeping with a fresh mind." Alyssa said and all of them got into the vehicle.
