Chapter 100 - Light

With a sigh, Tsubaki saw as the others quickly hunted the few Minotaurs that were left down. Thinking about what to do, she knew it was better to return as the danger of an even stronger monster spawning was rather worrisome.

While she was deep in thought, the adventurers were talking among each other as they looked at Ethan as the latter went in [Mind Down] state.

"Did you see that spell? It was..."

"Yeah, I heard his chant, and it wasn't even that long"

"..We truly are lucky to have him between our ranks, even though he's just a level 2, he managed to substantially harm it"

While Ethan acquired other people who favoured his entry into the Familia as a core member, Tsubaki shouted

"Let's retreat for now! We will wait for others back in the 18th floor. We can't be sure that another monster like the one we just killed may not spawn again"

These words, brought Raul to look at Ethan from the distance as he had Aki next to him.

"That Minotaur's aim.."

Nodding, Aki replied

"It looked at Ethan even before dying, as if it didn't care about anything else.."

Even though most adventurers didn't notice as they were busy dealing with other Minotaurs, the few ones who noticed, were thinking about it but, they found nothing able to explain why a monster of that level should target a level 2.

This line of thought, brought Raul to flinch as he added

"Wait, if the Dungeon's aim is Ethan, and he is defenceless right now, doesn't that mean..that the Dungeon will likely try spawn strong monsters even now?"

His words, brought Aki to sigh as she answered his question.

"I don't think so. Even if for the Dungeon, Ethan is plague, it still needs time to make such a Monster spawn again. Because it probably was comparable to a Monster Rex."

'I hope that the situation won't degenerate any more..'

Realizing that he was thoughtful about something, Aki decided to scare him a little. Slowing down her pace, she found herself with him continuing to walk while she was now behind him.

Approaching him, she clapped her hands right next to his ear as he twitched while quickly moving away from her. This actions, brought her to laugh as she added

"You shouldn't distract yourself while I'm next to you. Serves you right!"

With an expression that clearly cursed her in his mind, Raul returned his attention to where he was walking as she returned next to him while he inhaled and exhaled a few times. Chuckling, she wanted to add something before he replied

"Yes..by the way, I was thinking about his actual power.. it's really incredible if you think about it"

His words, brought her to sigh as she patted him on the shoulder while closing her eyes as if she was about to give him the wisest words he would be able to hear in his whole life, but..

"Keep at it, life is like a Minotaur in the Dungeon, there are those who come out powerful and there are those who do not."

Realizing what she was implying, Raul had a surprised expression on his face while Aki chuckled. Releasing him, she saw as he looked away without saying anything. Knowing that he was actually hurt by her words, brought her to sigh as she added

"You shouldn't compare yourself with him, even if you don't have magic, that doesn't mean you aren't strong. I was just joking to lighten the atmosphere"

Knowing that her words were true, made Raul nod as he understood from the start that she was joking. Deciding to put this matter aside, he smiled at her

"Yeah, I know that you were joking. he is a core member, so he should be in a position higher than mine..."

Trying to give himself this excuse, Aki decided to not add anything more while the two continued to walk like this until they returned to the 18th floor..

While being transported by Ais on the 18th floor, Ethan 'woke up' again in the same space he had visited when he passed out during the event.

Looking at his surroundings all he could see was emptiness as he tried to call Light but, he quickly understood that she wasn't...

[Ethan]

Hearing her voice, he furrowed his brows as he was confused

'Light? How can you be here?'

Staring at it, he didn't say anything as she replied

[Well, it's difficult to explain, but I had to hide in you. While you passed out, I was attacked by a strange power, similar to a Lower Goddess' one who tried to launch a mental attack at me. Obviously, I wiped it out, but I felt that if I didn't hide, the Dungeon would have decimated your whole party..]

Her words, brought a shocked expression on his face as he didn't know where to look at to reply at her, or if he would have to think or talk to have a conversation with her. Understanding this as well, Light sighed as light began to 'separate' while a girl's silhouette quickly formed.

Now quite hurt from the contrast between light and dark, made Light move her hand upwards while, as if at her command, all the darkness that was before in the space 'disappeared' while Ethan could not help but gulp.

This because, after the light took over all the darkness in an instant, he could see a girl with grey hair, almost tending to a sort of dark white. The eyes, however, were of different colours. The first was the same colour as her hair, and the other, had an intense scarlet red colour that shone slightly.

Slowly looking down as if brought by instinct, he saw that she hadn't any clothes. Staring at him, she didn't cover herself or anything like that as she added

"...I guess I have to form clothes"

While saying this, as if nothing had happened, she made a dress appear that covered her up to the upper part of the t.h.i.g.hs of dark blue and light gold colour as, for her lower t.h.i.g.hs, she decided to go for black and gold stockings.

Although he would have liked to comment that this setup made her even more provocative than before, Ethan had other thoughts in his head right now while he slowly nodded.

'So..this is Light..? Or maybe she formed this body, but she doesn't have a real form.. If it is, she's actually very beautiful..'

Thinking about this, he forgot that she could actually read his thoughts as she replied

"My mother made me like this so yes, this is my real form, but I couldn't form myself while I was bounded with you.."

Her words, made him flinch as he wanted to facepalm but, without doing so, he replied

"Wait, what does that mean? Now aren't we bounded as well?"

Nodding, she knew she had to explain herself better.

"Yes, our bond didn't change. What changed, is that I hid myself in you right before you fell into the [Mind Down] state, allowing me to enter your 'Domain' if it can be called as one.. maybe it's still too soon to be called a Domain"

At her words, he looked down as he actually remembered that when he entered this space the first time, there wasn't something that could be called a 'floor' but, he decided to put this matter aside as he sarcastically added

"Isn't this space..like endless? I mean, I can't even see the actual size of it"

Shaking her head, she added

"This is just your Domain related to your mind. You know, a real domain is what created the differences between Gods. We do not call the Lower Gods as such because we want to discriminate them. No matter how much Lower Gods try to use their divinities, or how large their actual Domain is, because the quality of it can't even be called as Divine outside their world. I would like to manifest mine, but I don't want to risk shaking the whole World by accident."

Her words, brought him to nod as he pointed at himself

"I am curious about this as just now, you mentioned that I have a Domain. Am I some kind of.. Lower God?"

Sighing, she replied as if she was looking at an idiot

"Obviously not. You are equal to me in body alone. If there was no actual limit, You would have manifested your Divinity without knowing how to use it, and that would bring you to, if you used your power incorrectly, to destroy the world and everything else related to it. I was created by my Mother with her residual experience. That means, I am able to use my Divinity as I wish, even suppress it to just be in this space as you can see."

Even though he felt overloaded with information, Ethan tried to understand everything as he couldn't help but add

"So I'm indeed some kind of God as well? That's..."

Nodding, she sighed as she added

"Yes, you can be classified as an Ancestor God. Your body, was created by me, and modified by my mother, bringing you on the same level as me. Her power, lies precisely in this ability that she used to create us. The fact that everyone else does not have the power to create souls or to create a body capable of acquiring this level of power, is precisely what led her to be so avoided by others, this because, if she wanted, my mother can create an army of beings powerful enough to compete with the stronger Gods like nothing. Being in this position of absolute power, she is respected and called [Absolute Ruler]"

Her words, brought Ethan to place a hand on his forehead as all the information he received from her speech made his head hurt...

'I am an Ancestor God, and I don't even know what it is, but, now I can easily understand why the Dungeon was so frightened of me to send that kind of monster for my head..'

Thinking about the fact that Gods weren't allowed in the dungeon, he felt everything was clear before Light shook her head as she pointed at herself

"No, in reality, the problem was me. When you are in the Dungeon, I have to hide myself in you while suppressing my Divinity. You know, I was quite surprised that a Goddess was able to detect me, even though Lower Gods shouldn't be able to feel my Divinity if I don't want them to...I think this Dungeon is what is really close to have a good Divinity.."

Her words, brought a surprised expression on his face before he couldn't help but stare at her.

"You were the problem, all this time?"

Nodding without a care in the world, she added

"Yes, I understood it was actually me the moment I was attacked"

Sighing, he decided to not think about it as he focused on the rest of what she said as doubts claimed his thoughts.

'Wait, I don't understand, is she talking about a Goddess or about the Dungeon?'

His thoughts, brought Light to clarify

"The Dungeon is what found me, the Goddess is someone who is connected with the Dungeon"

Even though he wanted to ask her to stop reading his thoughts as it was quite annoying, he decided not to as he wanted to return on more important matters.
