Ningyan’s back stiffened. Was she threatening her with severing all ties?

To force her to marry an old man who tended towards domestic violence?

Qin Nanyu saw Ji Ningyan stop in her tracks, and a dark look flashed in his eyes. He said in a low voice, “If you regret it, you still have a chance.”

Ji Ningyan raised her head and met his incomprehensible gaze. Did Qin Nanyu think she was scared?

“Let’s go; why not?”

“Ji Ningyan, you …” Only now did Qin Min begin to panic. Why wasn’t Ji Ningyan afraid of even severing ties with her?

Ji Ningyan turned her head, looking disappointedly at Qin Min’s face. She softly asked, “Mom, you said that you’d cut off all ties with me after I leave. But, do you see me as your daughter?”

She was not only asking Qin Min this question, but she was also asking herself.

Did Qin Min treat her as her daughter?

She and Ji Yunzi were sisters, but Ji Yunzi had uncountable pocket money. She had the best food and clothes, and her wardrobe was always full of the season’s branded new products.

Then, she walked into the elevator with Qin Nanyu without hesitation.

The elevator doors closed, shutting Qin Min’s out-of-shape face. Only then did Ji Ningyan realize she was still holding Qin Nanyu’s hand. She blushed and quickly let go. “Thank you for just now. I’m sorry for the embarrassment.”

Qin Nanyu smiled and said reasonably, “You’re welcome. It’s what I should do.”

“Ah?” What kind of answer was that?

He looked at her confused expression and added faintly, “Who asked you to be Mrs. Qin? I can’t watch my wife get bullied right under my nose, can I?”

Even though the person who had bullied her was her mother.

However, it was rare for her biological mother to be so outrageous—no wonder she was unwilling to accept her mother’s arrangements.

“Don’t tease me. You know that we’re in a cooperative relationship. If you don’t mind, you can call me Ningyan.”

After spending an afternoon with Qin Nanyu, she felt he was reliable.

Especially when he appeared in time and stopped her mother, he was so overbearing and handsome!

At this moment, the elevator doors opened with a ‘Ding!’ sound. Only then did Ji Ningyan realize that they had reached the first floor.

The sky was already dark when the two of them came out of the elevator. The neon lights outside kept flashing, and the night scene was beautiful.

At the car, Qin Nanyu opened the door and signaled her to get in. “Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride.”

“No need. My place isn’t too far away. I’ll take the bus back.”

She had already troubled Qin Nanyu a lot today, so she didn’t want him to come again.

“Get in the car!” Qin Nanyu said concisely.

Ji Ningyan continued to shake her head. She even took a step back, indicating no need for that.

Qin Nanyu didn’t like wasting time, and the car beside them was honking. He immediately grabbed Ji Ningyan and forced her into the car.

“You …” Ji Ningyan came back to her senses. Seeing him skillfully activate the engine, she instantly didn’t know what to say.

Helplessly, she could only tell him her address.

She had long guessed that her refusal to agree to the marriage would anger Qin Min and Ji Dongting, so she was fully prepared. She first found a house and moved out of the Ji family.
