Chapter 28 - The Spiders' Food Reserve

Chapter 28 The Spiders’ Food Reserve

Light footsteps echoed in the dark cave.

The sounds of the footsteps were moderately paced and seemed to be full of confidence as if they were deliberately made.

The footsteps attracted a light source, and a petite figure was revealed.

The girl’s short silver hair glimmered in the firelight, and she was wearing a light black leather armor that covered her chest. Her slender but smooth waist was exposed in the firelight.

She was wearing a pair of shorts and over-the-knee socks, revealing a large chunk of her fair thighs. Her left leg was wrapped in two circles of bandages, and she was wearing warrior shoes.

“Hey, little fellow, did you see a cloaked kid and a purple girl?” The man with the torch asked.

Although the girl’s figure was petite, her posture was straight. After looking up and sizing up the newcomer, she pouted and said in disappointment, “I thought it was a monster. It turns out it’s just a lizardman.”

“What did you say, you bitch?”

“Double Dragon Legs!”

Bang! Bang!

Two rapid muffled sounds.

Before the black-robed lizardman could pull out his sword, the girl had already leaped and kicked the other party’s lizard head on both sides with her long legs like two dragons emerging from the sea.

“Too weak.”

The girl commented on the lizardman who had fallen to the ground, then turned and continued to walk into the depths of the cave. In the darkness, she muttered to herself, “I heard that no one has ever been to the depths of this place before. so. came here. It’s really disappointing that there are only ordinary spiders and rookie adventurers here…’ The silence in the darkness didn’t last long before another set of footsteps could be heard.

The fire illuminated the lizardman on the ground, as well as the teeth that were scattered beside him.

“Harman, who attacked you?”

The unconscious lizardlike man slowly opened his eyes and said weakly, “Over-the-knee socks… legs… A girl…”

Then, he fainted again.

“Lord Shaffer, it seems to be a long-legged girl wearing over-the-knee socks who attacked him.”

Shaffer’s face darkened.

“Go after her!”

After sending a descending spider flying with a single punch, Celia heard hurried footsteps coming from behind her.

“Lizardmen, three of them. Are they that guy’s companions?”

From the sound of the footsteps, she had already made a preliminary judgment of the other party’s identity.

She moved her wrists, and a confident smile appeared on her delicate lips.

“Come, I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

Two scimitar-wielding lizardmen rushed out from the corner. Without any unnecessary words, they swung their scimitars, and a subtle but rapid sound of something whistling through the air came from the darkness. Without the need for vision, Celia could sense the trajectory of the two scimitars. She pulled off the brass knuckles hanging from her waist and threw them into the air. As she dodged the blades, she crossed her palms at lightning speed and accurately inserted four fingers into the holes in the brass knuckles. Then, she clenched her fists tightly.

Immediately after, there was the sound of metal clashing, and intense sparks constantly burst out in the darkness.

Celia relied solely on her pair of brass knuckles to block the attacks of the two steel scimitars. She could accurately block the blades, dodging and moving as if she was dancing between the blades.

“That’s it. Crushing Fist, shatter!”

Ding!

The two scimitars were broken by her fists almost at the same time, making a clear and sorrowful sound.

While the two lizardmen were still in shock, Celia rushed forward, her fists turned into palms, and she struck out with both palms.

“Double Palm Attack!”

The lizardmen, who were two heads taller than her, were hit by her petite palms and immediately flew out, breaking the spider eggs in the corner. After a symbolic struggle, they went limp.

Celia let out a small breath and adjusted her breathing. Then, she extended her arm and pointed it firmly at Shaffer, who was the only one who had not made a move.

“It’s your turn next.”

The other party was exuding a faintly discernible aura of an expert, which made her slightly excited.

To continuously battle with strong opponents and hone her combat skills was her pursuit. Shaffer’s expression was grave as he slowly drew the blade at his waist. It was a beautiful scimitar that glowed like the moon, making it especially eye-catching in the dark cave.

The light of the blade shone on Celia’s face, and her expression became serious. She restrained her aura, relaxed her arms, and got into a fighting stance like a tiger ready to attack.

Both sides were looking for each other’s flaws, but both were experienced warriors, so how could they easily reveal their flaws?

The confident Celia broke the stalemate first.

Her relaxed body suddenly tensed up, and her fists were like fire as she threw them at Shaffer.

Shaffer swung his scimitar to block, but his opponent was agile and dodged every attack or blocked with her brass knuckles. That pair of brass knuckles was definitely not made of ordinary materials. To think they could actually block his blade.

Not only that, but she was also constantly looking for the gaps between his blade slashes, preparing a thunderous attack. Even though she was only wearing a pair of brass knuckles, her entire body seemed to be a weapon.

Celia’s fists were like tigers and her legs were like dragons. Her knees, elbows, shoulders, back, and even her charming face were all sharp weapons, waiting for the opportunity to strike.

If he was not careful, he would definitely be severely injured by her seemingly weak body. Fortunately, Shaffer’s blade skills weren’t bad, and his scimitar attacks were continuous. He danced with his scimitar as if forming a full moon of defense, blocking his opponent at a safe distance.

Intense sounds of metal being struck rang out incessantly in the tunnel. The two were engaged in an intense battle, and Celia was completely excited. Her punches and kicks became increasingly smoother as if there was an endless stream of power surging in her body. Every punch and kick was accompanied by the whistling of the wind.

At this moment, she heard rustling sounds coming from both ends of the passage. The sounds were very dense and made her scalp numb. It seemed that a large number of cave spiders had been attracted over. Shaffer’s expression changed, “You brat! If we keep fighting, we’ll attract even more spiders.

We might even attract the beings in the deepest depths. By then, we’ll all die!”

“Hehe, you’re scared? Then let’s decide on the winner as soon as possible. Before that, I won’t stop!”

In contrast, Celia’s aura rose, and her attacks became even more ferocious. “You’re crazy!” Shaffer’s thoughts of retreating were immediately suppressed.

With the light of the blade, he saw a dense number of spiders swarming out from the tunnel behind Celia, collectively spewing out spider thread. At the same time, a strange sound came from behind him.

At that moment, his perfect saber attacks revealed a flaw. Celia seized the opportunity and her right fist broke through like a drill, sending him flying.

Shaffer fell to the ground and looked at the dense horde of spiders at the top of the cave. As he watched in horror, a large amount of spider threads fell from the sky, and his body was instantly submerged in pure white. After the punch, Celia missed the chance to dodge and the spider threads from behind wrapped around her as well. The spiders were like well-trained soldiers.

Under the heavy attack, she couldn’t avoid them. In a few seconds, her body was covered in spider thread.

Soon, the thick spider thread completely isolated her from the outside world.

She struggled with all her strength, but the sticky spider thread stuck to her body, tough and elastic. No matter how much strength she used, it would disappear.

“Damn it, what’s with those spiders? Not only did they ambush me when I couldn’t dodge, but they even fought as a group!” Initially, Celia had planned to quickly finish off her opponent before charging out. She did not expect the seemingly stupid spiders to ambush her at the same time.

“At a moment like this, if I had already understood the realm of coupling hardness with softness that master once told me about, I could’ve broken free from these spider threads. But there’s no chance now…”

After this, she would probably be stored as food by the spiders until she starved to death.

She had heard that some spiders would even lay eggs in their prey’s body… Ugh, that was too disgusting. At least let her die a quick death.

Thinking of all kinds of terrible endings, the usually fearless Celia couldn’t help but feel nervous.
