Chapter 5.2 That Filthy?

The designated Qingcheng hospital is very close to our unit. Every year, we go there for the annual staff physical examination. The senior management of our company have good relationship with them. Qingcheng hospital still didn’t issue a sick leave.” Xu Zhixin stumbled, “Will I lose my case if I get a sick leave slip like this from a hospital that is not a designated hospital?”

“You won’t.” Bai Duanduan didn’t even raise her head, “Whether or not you went to the designated hospital to diagnose your condition, or to review it, it doesn’t necessarily result in losing the case.”

“Firstly, Qingcheng Hospital is only a second grade hospital, and orthopaedics is not a department they are famous for and specialise in, so it is perfectly reasonable for you to go to first class hospital in Sanjia City for orthopaedics. Third, although Qingcheng hospital is close to your unit, it is actually far from where you live according to the mailing address you provided before. You have a leg injury. It is unreasonable and inconvenient to go so far for review.”

She smiled at Xu Zhixin, “At present, most of our arbitration cases do not support the enterprise’s request for sick leave from the designated hospital. You can rest assured.”

Xu Zhixin let out a sigh of relief, and only then he left the law firm.

Bai Duanduan finished preparing Xu Zhixin’s arbitration documents before returning home from work.

She called it a home, actually it was just a house she rented in the high-end community near the law firm. Although she is a native of A City, she lives far away from her parent’s home. Although it was a single apartment, Bai Duanduan doesn’t feel lonely. There was an orange cat who was very sticky and close to her in the community. Every time Bai Duanduan came home, the orange cat would come out of the bushes and nuzzle in her legs, mewing ingratiatingly as if to welcome her home.

“The cat food I bought arrived today, do you want to come home with me and eat some?”

Bai Duanduan squatted down and picked up the orange cat, “If you don’t say anything, I’ll take that as a yes.”

The orange cat found a comfortable position in her hand, gave a couple of glances and lay peacefully in Bai Duanduan’s arms, and was carried all the way to her door.

Bai Duanduan had often fed the orange cat downstairs, but it did not want to come home with her. Now after a while, it was finally familiar enough to let her hold.

Bai Duanduan tucked the cat in her arms and thought with satisfaction that she could now rightfully adopt the cat.

“From today onwards, you will be called Bai Mimi!”

Soon, she opened the door and let the cat in. There were two households in the building. In fact, on her floor there was another one, on the opposite side to her. However, although there were people living in that one, the residents seemed to go out earlier and return later than her every day. Bai Duanduan has lived here for a week. She was stunned that they had never seen each other’s faces. She only knew that the other party worked very hard, just like herself,  and also often ordered takeout.

After feeding the cat food to the orange cat, taking a bath and placing the nest, Bai Duanduan finished her takeaway and sank down on the sofa, fiddling with her phone in boredom.

There was still no new missed calls and no new text messages from strange number.

The man really did not contact her again.

He was dressed so well that he looked like he could walk down the runway. When Bai Duanduan looked at her own unkempt home clothes, she almost subconsciously opened the door and dodged back inside.

Mom! He was her neighbour! The heavens had once again given her a hint that she and this man were truly a match made in heaven! What kind of destiny could it be to have such a high frequency of chance encounters one after another?

Bai Duanduan thought with chagrin, Duan Yun said that women should live exquisitely, even if they go out to throw away the garbage, they should have perfect and bright makeup on.
