Chapter 69 World Pond

"The Godkiller…"

'What an edgy name.' That was the first thing that came to Xuan's mind. Then, he realized his own nickname wasn't much better, and decided to stop thinking about it.

"You know of the Ten True Gods, correct?" The skeleton asked, to which Xuan nodded and the bony figure continued. "Thousands of years ago—entire eons, even—we managed to seal that monster away. Well, more accurately, we banished him from this world, but… in the process, eight of us were taken down with him, myself included. That is how powerful he was."

"To be able to fight the Ten True Gods at the same time and take down eight with him… just what was he?"

At this, the skeleton let out a dark chuckle. "Hmph. Well… if we're called 'Gods', then you can call him the Devil itself. I've known my share of evil in my life—hell, one of us, Divine Asura, was a sinner through and through. But even he was frightened of this man—this true demon. He had reached a level above even Gods, boy—we call it the 'Nirvana' stage."

'Nirvana… Nirvana Incorporated…?' Xuan thought, narrowing his eyes. 'Can't be a coincidence, can it?'

"This… Nirvana stage. It contains a power even Gods cannot stand against?"

"Yes," the skeleton replied, as its voice began hazy. "But unfortunately… my time is running out. What you see here is just the final remnants of a Soul fragment I left behind, and cannot last long. I know you're confused and have many questions, but…"

"Wait, senior-"

"Look in the breast pocket of my robes, boy. Take that and seek out Burning Moon… deliver him a message from The Prophet: The Godkiller is back."

"…"

Xuan fell quiet, as the skeleton continued in its last breaths (?).

"In return, you can have full access to the Sealed World Pearl, and everything I left behind… given that you're strong enough to handle it, of course. A pretty good deal if I do say so myself, right, kid?"

With a sigh, Xuan nodded. "So this was your true intent in telling me all this, huh…"

"Haha, don't blame this old geezer. After all, in my current form, it is hard for me to reach my former comrades."

"Why can't the Prophet just deliver the message himself?" Xuan asked.

But there came no answer.

The last of Dimension Transcender True God's Soul had faded away.

—and in the end, even Gods could not escape death.

Shaking his head in disappointment, Xuan retrieved the robes from the skeleton, dusted it off a bit, and then took out the item hidden in its breast pocket.

"This is… a talisman?"

A wooden talisman, to be particular. Oddly enough, it had what looked like a planet etched onto its surface, and Xuan naturally assumed it was some kind of item to prove the True God's identity. Dimension Transcender—it made sense.

After some thought, he stashed the talisman into his inventory. Unfortunately, the robes were far too worn-down to be used anymore, so taking it would just be a waste of space. Hell, with all the dust and grime on it, it wouldn't even sell for a half-decent price just as a normal article of clothing, much less an artifact.

Still, Xuan took it with him just in case, and with that, left the chamber where a True God spent his final moments.

After Dimension Transcender True God's spirit disappeared, Xuan made his way up the mountain, heading towards the World Pond where Yuxin was. On the way, he checked his Map, and unsurprisingly, all the fog around the edges had cleared away, revealing locations unable to be seen before.

The reason? This small world had now accepted him as its new owner, since its old one had passed. Not only that, but Xuan found himself being able to teleport freely inside the small world, which only made sense considering this place was created by the 'Dimension Transcender' True God, who specialized in the Dao of Space. This made getting around quite a lot simpler, and also saved a lot of travel time as well.

A few points of interest came to light on the map—a strangely-shaped old temple in the east nicknamed the Tesseract, a hidden cave in the west, and a normal-looking house slightly beyond World Pond at the top of the still unnamed mountain. Unfortunately, upon teleporting to each one, Xuan was stumped to find out that all of them were locked behind a barrier only breakable by the Law of Space.

In other words, Xuan had to at least reach the Origin Transformation realm before being able to discover what was inside those three locations.

'So that's what he meant when he said 'if you're strong enough', huh…'

Whether this was to protect or annoy Xuan, he didn't know, but either way, he felt the latter right now. Snorting in distaste, Xuan teleported back to the World Pond—but just as his vision focused… he saw a figure of wondrous form, stark naked, within the waters.

She was not particularly well-endowed or beautiful, but her fair light skin glistened with the water drops on it and reflected the powerful sunlight hanging above. Her body gave off a scent of the wild, perfectly complimenting the nature all around her as her long white hair swerved in the wind.

It was quite the exquisite sight. Unfortunately, just at that moment, the figure—Ye Yuxin—spun around.

Their eyes met, and neither of them said a word for a brief moment of shock.

Then, the huntress immediately crouched down and hid herself in the water, covering her body with her arms and yelling with flushed cheeks.

"W-W-What are you doing here?!"

"I'm visiting the World Pond, of course," Xuan replied. "What, did you think I'm here to look at you?"

To be fair, he had been doing exactly that, but thrust into that same situation, any other man would do the same. It was simply instincts.

"H-How did you get here so suddenly?" She asked, calming down a bit. "I didn't even hear you approach!"

"I can teleport freely in this small world," Xuan explained, eyeing her up and down with disdain. "But that aside… why are you naked? Did you mistake this for a hot spring?"

"Stop looking at my body!" The girl cried in embarrassment. "Are you not supposed to take off your clothes when entering a pond?!"

"If you're planning on going swimming, sure. But uh… this place is used for cultivation." Xuan pointed at the edges of the pond. "You see those lily pads over there? You're supposed to sit on them so you can float above the water… not take a bath."

"…"

Yuxin, utterly shocked at her own stupidity, could do little to hide her nervousness. Gulping in fear, she slowly averted her gaze, and uttered out a single sentence:

"… C-Could you look away for a moment?"

"…" Sighing, Xuan turned around, and waited for her to finish putting her clothes back on.
