Chapter 404 - Sword of Kyle.

After the tenth auction item, there was a short break of ten minutes. Players of the Spellcaster Class were still mourning the loss of the book that could have greatly benefited them.

With a class that could not be further from Spellcaster, Lynch obtained it.

"Hmm, what is this? "Lynch asked as he pulled an item from his inventory. A jewel-encrusted hilt adorned the edge of the saber. At first glance, it did not look like a weapon that could be used in battle. Instead, it looked like a wall decoration.

"Young master. It is the item you got from that..." The butler hesitated for a moment, struggling to remember the player's name.

"It was that rude player who collided with you on the streets."

"Oh." Lynch snorted and tossed the weapon back into inventory. "These useless items clog up my inventory."

A wry smile crept across the butler's face. Everything his young master owned would be enough to pay his rent.

Ten minutes later, the break was over. The auctioneer returned to the stage, followed by a beautiful woman pushing a cart.

A yellowish-dyed worn-out paper sat on the cart this time. The paper was scribbled on, and drawings were drawn.

All of the players leaned closer to examine the item. They were attracted by the drawings because they seemed to lead somewhere with X-drawn.

"This is a treasure map that takes you to the ancient burial ground of Mythical Figure!" The auctioneer started with breathtaking words.

All those present gasped in surprise.

"And… There have been rumors of Mythical Legacy being hidden there, somewhere!"

"What?!" The players exclaimed, and the hall immediately grew loud with shouts and discussions.

Their eyes turned red, and they were gasping for breath. Everyone regarded the treasure map as the most precious thing in existence.

'This could be my way for World Domination…'

'Mythical Legacy… My treasure!'

'I have to get it… I have to!'

The players had different thoughts, but all of them led to one conclusion. They had to get the treasure map!

Lynch, surprisingly, looked disinterested, 'Only Mythical… Hmph, in front of my Godly Legacy, everything else is simply mediocre!'

Then, he thought, 'But… Seeing the looks of others. The idea of tearing their hopes to shreds would be funny.'

After seeing the intense reactions, the auctioneer smiled, "The starting bid is 500,000!"

"550,000!"

"560,000!"

"600,000!"

Within seconds, players began shouting their bids, and the price shot up quickly until it stopped rising after 800,000.

Lynch tapped his armrest and then got up after noticing everyone had stopped bidding, "900,000!"

"Gasp!" The players gasped, and many, who were about to bid, sat down with despair. It was clear that Lynch was being savaged by the crowd, as several hostile looks were directed at him.

Lynch snorted and thought that the bidding war had ended.

However, one voice resounded throughout the room.

"1 million."

The auctioneer, as well as all the participants, were shocked.

"What are you doing?" Lynch asked, looking back at the person who bid against him. A woman sitting not far from Lynch had a cold appearance. With bangs going over musky eyes, she had disheveled black hair that reached her knees.

Her pale skin and eerie appearance could easily fool the casual observer into thinking she was a ghost.

She sat among twelve well-dressed priests. It appeared that they were from the same Guild as the ghost-looking woman.

'What are they doing here?' Lynch grimaced, 'I thought they weren't that fond of betting any material wealth and only gave it to their Gods.'

"1 million, going once, going twice…"

The auctioneer looked again at Lynch, who shook his head, having no intention of betting against her.

"SOLD!"

Afterward, the ghost-like woman and the priests left. As the hall filled with the scent of her perfume, many groaned. Her perfume engendered strange feelings. There was an initial smell of flowers, then of damp dirt.

'Who was that?' Isaac, seated in the back row, turned slightly to look at the ghostly woman. There was something strange about her, but Isaac couldn't wrap his finger around it.

From the eleventh item on, more items were pulled from backstage and sold fast. The items were significantly cheaper, which made them more accessible to players with less wealth.

Soon, it was time for the 41st item.

Everyone exclaimed in surprise when they saw the item atop the metal cart. A beautiful blue crown adorned with sparkling jewels stood atop the cart.

They were captivated only by its beauty. This was all the players cared about, so they grew disinterested.

However, there were several female players that begged their companions to buy it for them. But, it was a long shot because the starting bid started from 100,000!

Right away, Malcolm stood up and shouted, "300,000!"

Everyone was shocked by such an extraordinary increase. It was assumed that the old man was a fool who wanted to please his wife, who coincidentally sat next to him.

There was no bidding war, and no one spoke up.

Then, the auctioneer said, "Going once… Going twice… Sold!"

Malcolm sighed in relief and left the hall with Madison. The item they came for was successfully acquired!

At that moment, Isaac stood up in shock and saw the retreating backs of his grandparents, 'Grandpa… Grandma… They are also playing?'

'Why did they bid so much for some… Crown with the seemingly only value being an item of decoration?' He sat down with those thoughts riddling inside his mind.

Then, the following item was shown on the stage. It continued until it was time for the 50th item.

Among the contents of the scabbard was a beautiful sword hilted with a beautiful blade.

With images of phoenixes and white-furred tigers carved on the scabbard, it was beautifully decorated.

"Now… It is time for the last ten items to be auctioned!" The auctioneer shouted, which brought everyone out of their stupor.

They were shocked to know that only ten items were left. In a short period of time, so many items had already sold that they didn't realize how quickly time had passed.

"We are starting with this… This is a legendary-ranked sword, named Sword of Kyle!"

"L-Legendary?!" The players were shocked due to the fact that legendary-rank items were almost impossible to find without incredible luck!

"Heh… Finally." Lynch grinned, and it was finally time for the items he was waiting for, "It's time to party…"
