Chapter 79 - It was not a park

"Are you sure that you are satisfied with this arrangement? " Jahid glanced at the informations Ruhan gave and asked him finally.

According to his opinion,  Ruhan was he was being soft on Lisa. The arrangements he made would just damage Lisa's reputation, but it could be recovered with efforts.  If he wanted to chase her out permanently,  he needed more materials.

"Yes I am sure." Ruhan nodded. "No matter what she is my wife. If I go too far, it might be detrimental to our reputation.  "

Jahid agreed with him. They couldn't make Lisa look too bad. Afterall it was related to Ahmed family's reputation.

"Ok...then I will get to work as soon as possible.  When will the project start?" Jahid asked.

"Next month." Ruhan replied

"Wait for the good news." Jahid smirked as he left the cafe.

Tuli returned to her office at a daze. She didn't know whether she was right or wrong,  she just knew that from now on she had to follow Ruhan's plan.

According to him, she would have to find an excuse to resign as soon as possible.  The project would start in two weeks. By then Lisa would be aware of the conspiracies and she would be the prime suspect. So she had to find a place to hide as soon as possible.

To be honest, she did not feel good about it. There were lots of "what ifs".

What if Ruhan lost?

What if she had to go to prison?

What if Lisa took revenge?

What if Mr. Ahmed didn't accept her as his daughter-in-law?

Although Ruhan insisted that for the reputation of the company,  his father wouldn't call the police. He would rather find a scapegoat.  It would be either Lisa or Tuli. If Tuli stayed here, she would have to be the one to take blame. So Ruhan told her to stay away.

Although Ruhan assured her that the police wouldn't be involved,  she still was afraid.

Anyway,  her ambition was far stronger than her fear. So she went ahead with the plan anyway.

"May I come in madam?" Tuli knocked on the door.

"Come in." Lisa replied without glancing at her.

Tuli hesitated and then brought out an envelope.

"This is my....I would like to resign madam."

"What!" Lisa exclaimed.  She couldn't believe her ears. They were at a critical moment. They could not afford any mistake in the project.  Now her secretary suddenly asked to resign!! Is this supposed to be a joke?

"Actually, it's my family.  They have arranged a marriage for me. My husband doesn't live in Dhaka. So it would not be convenient for me to continue to work. I am really sorry madam."

Tuli began to chant her story with great sincerity. She looked really pitiful.

If Lisa didn't approve of her resignation,  it would seem she was deliberately making things difficult for her.

"What do you think this place is?" Lisa asked her calmly?

"Hmm?" Tuli didn't understand her question.

"Do you think this is a park where you can come and leave according to your wishes?" Lisa smiled amiably but her speech was sharp.

"Madam..." Tuli bit her lips and looked aggrieved.

"When you signed the contract with our company,  did you look through it properly? " Lisa smiled again.

Tuli hesitated and nodded.

She had glanced through the contract but didn't read it carefully. She was too excited about joining the main branch.

Now that Lisa suddenly asked her about it like a sly fox, Tuli suddenly had a bad premonition.

"It seems that your memory is really bad. You really forget important things. It doesn't matter though. I am here to remind you of your duties." Lisa took out a file from her drawer, highlighted a clause by a marker and handed it to Tuli.

Tuli picked up the file in a confused state.

However, the moment she saw the highlighted clause, her face turned pale!
