Chapter 76 - Deceive Oneself

"I somehow managed to seduce a jinn. Now it always stays with me and follows my instructions. You better be careful and do not take advantage of me.  He is a jealous one ah!"

Ruhan had thought that Lisa was going to answer him seriously.  But her answer made him furious.

"You...you are shameless.  Stop beating around the bush and answer me." he said annoyingly.

"Darling, you won't understand even if I tell you. So don't waste your braincells anymore. It might affect your beauty." Lisa smirked and left him fuming with anger.

'Damn it! Ruhan cursed. He shouldn't have accused her of seducing investors before getting clear answer from her.

But he could not control himself. Seeing her laughing with other men like this made his blood boil. She had never laughed with him like this. Whenever she would face him, she would pull on a disgusted face. This really hurt his ego.

However,  what he didn't know that even if he hadn't insulted Lisa that was, she wouldn't have answered him.

Lisa wasn't a delusional to think that she could replace Ruhan permanently. There will be a time when Ruhan would join the office and Lisa might have to compete with him. She was not foolish enough to leak her secret to her rival.

Moreover,  she was not as amazing as Ruhan thought her to be.

She could solve today's problems not because she has supernatural power or she has supertalent.

It was because of her clumsiness.

Lisa had always been clumsy about keeping her things. She would lose her pendrive, cellphone quite frequently.  She had to redo many of her assignments because of this.

For this reason, she had the habit of keeping back up. She would upload important documents on Google drive so that she could download them from anywhere.

She had also uploaded the encrypted presentation on her google drive. That was why she was not that worried when Tuli had forgotten to bring the pendrive.

Rather, she was disappointed.  If she hadn't had the habit of keeping back ups, she would have been really in trouble.

Women had to face lots of problems while doing job outside. Not to mention the harassment and unfair treatment at the office, even the family members didn't co-operate with them well.

That's why Lisa had always been appreciative of girls who had the courage to work like that. She wanted to train Tuli properly for her further development. Although Tuli's academic result wasn't that outstanding,  but Lisa believed that with proper training,  she could be of great help, just like Mina.

But Tuli's recent activities really disappointed Lisa. She was not as enthusiastic about her job as before. She could oversee her small mistakes, she could forgive if she came office late, as long as she finished her job. But she could never forgive her negligence....Lisa had worked too hard to build her reputation.  She would not allow anyone to tarnish it.

After today, Lisa would no longer accommodate Tuli. She would observe her. If she could mend her ways and did her job diligently,  she would keep her. Otherwise she would replace her with a more capable employee.

The two persons parted with different thoughts in their minds. Lisa threw today's incidence to the back of her head and began go plan for next project.

While Ruhan was full of regrets. He really thought he would see a good show.

'Never mind' he sighed. Today was just a bonus. His main focus was somewhere else. Even though Lisa wasn't humiliated, he did manage to sway Tuli's loyalty. That was more than enough for him.

What they didn't know that their interactions fell into someone else's eyes. Tuli couldn't understand what they were saying but she did understand that they were arguing.

She also observed that today Ruhan was not here as Mr. Ahmed's son. He was introduced to the investors as 'Lisa's husband'. Naturally few people wanted to interact with him who didn't know his identity..

"Looks like he wasn't lying. " Tuli mumbled. "Since they do not have good relationship, it would not be a blasphemy to separate them. Right?"

Tuli didn't even realize that she had already begun to deceive herself to justify her behaviour.
