Chu Yang now looked at the dregs on the ground where five mana cores were part of before. The gravity of the situation made him forget about feeling things out and completely committed to gathering all of it in his system.

The combination of mana made even the ever-confident Chu Yang feel like his body was being forced apart. The power of these mana cores might just cripple him, but he won't go down without contributing it his all. His family was still in the country after all, he cannot go back home without putting this threat out of reach or even better, kill the damn abdicate.

"Ahhh!"

The mana flowing through his body developed ice around him, ice that he forced to strike towards the Heftpound. It appeared like a snake made of ice slithering its way to the abdicate's arms which was being kept still by Zel's threads. He replaced those threads with firm ice that didn't grow as thick as the ones he used to do.

'I don't need them thicker. I need them harder!' Chu Yang's previous experience with freezing this monster made it very clear that it can break his ice with some effort.

If he makes the same mistake of just making a giant ice cube around it then he'd be ashamed to call himself the Coalition's Head Commander. This time, he was lowering the ice's temperature to levels he had no idea being. The forceful removal of heat caused the surroundings to seemingly shift in pressure, but the visual impact was more incredible.

"Concentrate fire on that arm!" Matthew, who scrutinized it all, suddenly shouted. The aggressively shooting members of the Coalition found reprieve in his words as they all fired in that direction.

The arm that threatened to demolish the surroundings had turned to ice, not surrounded by ice. The first bullet to strike it caused cracks to appear from where the bullet's impact landed. Immediately after though, hundreds of bullets followed, and the hairline cracks turned more prominent.

"Crack. Roar!" A visible tear appeared from where the arm connected to the Heftpound's body. It roared in indignation, but no one cared, the beast is going down today. There is no mercy for it.

Chu Yang felt the mana still overloading his system. Immediately after freezing it's one arm, he proceeded to freeze the rest of its body as well. He started with the legs that were still encased in ice. He pressed his hands over the pillar of ice he was on and a flowing river of ice appeared, its light blue color was replaced by a much darker tone. When the flow reached the ice that encased the legs, it passed through it, heading directly to the legs.

"Die!" Chu Yang felt the connection of his mana infused ice and the Heftpound's body. He then conveyed everything he embodied into that connection, forcing the rest of the excess mana to produce ice made from the Heftpound's body. It's blood and muscles froze over while its pale fur turned dark blue. But this time it wasn't because of its own mana but from being frozen from the inside out.

"Quake!" Zel who had released his threads from the Heftpound's arms suddenly created a conical shield in front of him. He looked towards Billy who had been absorbing a mana core slowly all this time. Zel's instruction beforehand was that he shouldn't try to shatter it.

If he did, he might just explode. It wasn't generated of the same quality of mana to his after all, a trivial amount of this could fill his reserves up by magnitudes greater than what he thinks it would. This was proven by the fact that the mana core still appeared the same as it did when he took it out while his whole body felt like it would leak mana if he budged just a step.

"Pops!" Matthew saw that Billy hadn't responded, so he took the mana core from his hand and threw it aside. When he did so, Billy finally got back to normal and clasped his hands together. A yellow lightning appeared on close proximity of Billy's hands, but they didn't just flash and disappear, they swarmed his praying hands like bugs around a light source.

"Go!" Billy then pushed his arms forward with his palms facing the Heftpound's frozen torso. Its target was the chest, the part that holds the abdicate's mana core.

The lightning proved to be superior to those bullets as not only did that portion crack, they immediately burst apart. The Heftpound only had its head under its control as it screamed angrily. Though no one had visualized it, its arm that was still on the other side had flames of deep blue color condensing into one solid sphere.

"Roar!"

The Heftpound's eyes were focused on Chu Yang whose smug face was looking at the abdicate as if he already won. Though the abdicate had lost its ego, the taunt seemed to have affected it somewhat as the flames it held on the other arm passed through the rest of its body. Though it couldn't reach its left leg and left arm, it was now burning from everywhere else.

When it was about to wrest its lone arm out of the hole though, a harsh impact knocked it back. It didn't even get to see what happened before the abdicate felt the portal holding its arm back expand. It would have been gratified for it to happen if not for the fact that it was now heading straight back to it.

"Roar." When its body was pushed all the way inside, it saw a man standing over the portal on the other side. His upper body was naked while he stood on a disk of mana. The man was holding over his arm towards it, the hand looking as if it was trying to clench into fists. Tendrils gripped the edges of the portal while the Heftpound finally understood that it needed to go back before the human finishes what it desires to accomplish.

"See you later!" Zel's hand clenched to a fist while the threads that held the portal congregated into a single thread with the portal coming with it.

When he retrieved the threads, the portal had disappeared. He looked behind him where Matthew and Billy had raised their arms in glee while Chu Yang produced a weary smile as he sat on the ground without a care for his reputation.

"Look! The hole is gone!" Cheers sounded out from all around.

The threat of the abdicate had finally passed and the entire battalion sighed in relief. Zel, Matthew and Billy felt the fight had been too easy, but that's just because it was Chu Yang who did the heavy lifting. If anyone of them tried that, they would explode with just one, let alone five cores.

Jane saw through the whole thing, more importantly, she had chosen to show it live. Generating a buzz all over the world as everyone awake had seen exactly what happened here tonight. The appearance of an ice man, three weirdos and a rain of bullets would have made for a weird fictional movie scene, but this was a live feed. No visual effects can be produced during live feeds. Jane looked at Gendry who was also cheering on the side, the man was howling while pumping his fists in the air when he suddenly looked up with a horrified expression.

"No!"

A scream rang out from above them as a look of despair showed itself in Amanda's face. A claw had appeared right beside her as Gin got impaled from the back. The claw is connected to a portal, right beside the helicopter. It was subsequently that a foot forced itself out of that portal.

"Boom!" Amanda manipulated her ability to construct a barrier on the air. She hopped to it just in time before the helicopter would crash, though she received no time to save anyone else but herself.

She watched as the helicopter fell to the ground, exploding when it did. She was about to cry out again when a force slapped the barrier she had made, and she felt herself now falling to the ground. The cold night air produced a 'very cold' feeling that was enhanced by the sheer terror of recognizing the ground get closer.

"Ahhh! Thud."

Her body was then held by her arms as threads made of mana snatched her. Though she still felt herself getting closer to the ground, the momentum was presently at an acceptable pace. She looked towards the three men wearing compact full body armor whose helmets concealed their faces. She was about to thank them when she felt her whole body being dragged towards one of them and a sound came from behind.

"Roar! Roar!"

The familiar rabbit's feet appeared again, only this time there was more...

"Roar!" Three...

"What's happening?"

Chu Yang looked at the Heftpound he had frozen just a few minutes ago. It's one eye glowed the same blue color but the anger present in its eye showed no pain, just a hunger. A hunger for blood.

The lone rabbit's foot now had a buddy, a second pair of rabbit's feet. The celebrating Coalition was now wrapped in deafening silence as only the sounds of a rapidly expanding portal were heard. Instead of one arm though, three arms were opening the portal.

"Get back to base!" Zel held the Matthew and Billy as they ran towards the hospital.

If even one abdicate made them spend all that effort, there was no way to stop two at the same time. The three were not the only ones who understood that because nearly everyone did the same. Running for their lives.

"Are you kidding me?" Chu Yang stared at those rabbit legs and swore to slaughter every rabbit he ever sees, but he had to leave right away.

If he doesn't, he might not ever see the sunrise tomorrow, much less see a rabbit. The helicopter was gone, so he had to hitch a ride with one of the land vehicles, he used the rest of his mana to pull Amanda to his side who was still dumbfounded from the appearance of the two Heftpounds.

The two Heftpounds had finally gotten themselves out when they saw there was nearly no one in their vicinity. The mightier one of the two possessed a blistering arm that was covered in frost, it's eye red from an injury that was left behind just a while ago.

There seemed to be no actual communication with the two though as one hurriedly followed the direction of the Coalition while the other walked slowly towards another direction, right where the hospital was. Its eyes glowed Green while the fur on it was the same white, it looked at the lingering traces of blue mana that Zel had left behind.

When its eye saw this, it suddenly sprinted towards that direction, not caring for any stray human on its way. Its eyes glowed Green while the fur on it was the same white, it looked at the lingering traces of blue mana that Zel had left behind.

"Zel! I've just checked the system! The timer!" Phil's voice sounded out from the helmets they wore as Zel didn't look back once.

The pair of abdicates had just released themselves from the portals in their entirety. The one who they were most familiar with had even gone towards the pit where the lingering ice made from the rest of its body lied. It didn't communicate with the other Heftpound who all headed towards a mass of people, jogging out of its way as the earth quaked underneath their weight.

Zel clicked the watch on his wrist and an interface like what the app would show appeared on his helmet. He saw the timer had dwindled down to just a few minutes left while the system had issued another announcement.
