Chapter 137 An Early Confrontation

We did not go any further than that.

I initially thought Lisa would have wanted to go all the way right there but according to her, she wanted our first time together to be more memorable.

Thus she set a date for me to come over to her store this weekend to consummate our relationship after our shopping date.

Honestly speaking, I'm not really sure what kind of relationship the two of us have. It was obvious that Lisa fancies me but does that only extend to just us being friends with benefits?

Kicking the can about our relationship down the road, I went on my way towards the school gates in order to leave for home.

Since it was already quite late, the only students that were still in school were those that had club activities.

I was expecting Odeta to have left already but there she was waiting for me at the entrance. What's more, she was not alone.

There was a group of Mahuns gathered in front of her and by the looks they were giving her, they were most definitely not there to be friendly with the Amrap.

Getting closer to them, I tried to listen in on the conversation.

"This bitch really think she's special huh?"

"Are you delusional enough to think that just because you cheated your way into the special student position in this school, it makes you turn into an actual special existence, huh?"

"I don't even know why such an uncivilised thing like her was accepted into our school. Just look at how she's dressed! She's obviously just a savage!"

Ok, that's it! What's wrong with the way she's dressed?! It perfectly showcases her abs for me to touch whenever I want! You're the savage for not being able to understand such a charm!

I stormed my way over to the group, "What are you doing?!"

The ones closest to me jumped at my voice, all of them turning around to see me standing there with my hands on my hips.

A boy with reddish hair strode out from the small crowd to stand in front of me, "This has nothing to do with you, go away."

I don't know if I should be impressed that he could use that tone of voice when he only reaches the bottom of my chest in height.

Then again, he's already up against Odeta where he barely reached her waist height.

I guess this is one of those things where you don't have a sense of self preservation because healing magic exists.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You seem to be troubling my friend so it does have something to do with me. What do you want?"

"So it's true? I really thought that she was just hanging on to you but you really consider that savage as your friend?"

A few of his friends also sneered at me, as though they couldn't believe that I would willingly associate myself with Odeta.

I pretended to look around, "The only savages I see around here are you though?"

The boy seethed, "Do you know who I am?! I'm Eugene Lane, heir of the Lane family!"

I'm guessing this is the guy who challenged Odeta for her special class position… Does he really think he stands a chance against her?

Oh well, at least I have a name now so I can ask Katsuki or Mary about his family later and see if we need to be worried about him.

I tilted my head at him, "Should that mean something? Because I don't know if it should?"

He actually growled at me, "Hmph!! Of course a person like you who would be friends with someone like her would not know me! My father is a Marquis overseeing the East Border Fort! We can have you locked up!"

I really doubt he can do that, especially considering my position.

Before I could respond to him though, Odeta grabbed him by his shoulder and spun him around to face her, "Hey. I don't care what you say  to me, but you give sister Aster another look like that, I'll break your face, you understand?"

He must have finally realised the difference in both height and build between them as he stuttered, "I… I'm not scared of you!"

"An dumb male like you obviously wouldn't even know what fear is," She spat before shoving him away from her. "Get lost before I really smash your face in you stupid male."

Odeta then grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the crowd without a word, ignoring the indignant sputters from Eugene.

The other boys parted for her to walk past them, those who didn't simply got shoved aside by the larger sized girl.

She continued to pull me until we were out of sight of the gates before she finally slowed down and released my hand.

"Haaaaa… Sorry for involving you in that, sister Aster…"

I tilted my head, "Why are you apologising? It's not your fault, right? I called out to them myself, didn't I? Actually, why are you just standing there and letting them say those things?"

"Eh? What did they say? I wasn't listening to them at all."

"Wow, really? They were calling you a savage and stuff you know?"

She shrugged, "I don't pay attention to the stupid words of people I have no interest in, especially if they're weak males."

"I see… Umm… Katsuki?"

"You called Mistress?" Katsuki's voice came from behind me.

I still jumped a little in surprise despite already expecting her to show up, "Umm.. Yeah. So… Who is that Eugene?"

She bowed, "As he had said, Mistress. He comes from a Marquis family in charge of managing the East Border Fort and the surrounding lands. I will need to check if they indeed got their hands on the meat of a Sky Cow recently but it should be well within their means to do so."

"So why is he so obsessed with Odeta?"

The Amrap scoffed at my words but said nothing while Katsuki answered me, "I believe it's because their family has been embroiled in multiple wars with the races to the north of the Kingdom which include Amraps. Despite being at peace for a while now, they still view them as savages for trying to invade the Kingdom and passed down such values to their descendants."

Ugh… Why are the older generations passing down their problems to the younger generations? Why can't they just let their hate and prejudices die out with them instead?

I sighed, "So she's upset that an Amrap like Odeta took a special student spot and is standing above him huh… What about me?"

"I do not believe that he knows you are a Meslatar, Mistress."

"Does anyone in school even know about me being a Meslatar?"

Katsuki shook her head, "Aside from the principal, the teachers in charge of your class and the members of the student council, I believe most of the students in the school are unaware of that fact, Mistress."

"Then that means their attitude towards me will change once they know, won't it?"

My Inugami maid hesitated, "I cannot say for sure, Mistress… But I would believe so."

Ugh, it's always a race thing isn't it…

She then looked at me, "Speaking of which, Mistress… What did that Alchemy teacher want from you?"

Ah, that's right, the room was soundproofed and locked so it was no surprise that Katsuki wasn't able to listen in or see what we were doing.

I poked my fingers together, "Umm… Well… You know who she is right?"

"Lisa the Alchemist, right? I am aware, Mistress."

Odeta suddenly cut in, "Is it another girl interested in sister Aster?!"

"She is," Katsuki confirmed without missing a beat.

"Ehhh?! Who is she?! I wanna talk to her!"

"I'll tell you later, but please tell me what she wanted from you, Mistress."

Somehow I felt a pressure coming from both of the girls as they stared at me intently.

No, it wasn't that they were jealous, this was something different. It felt like they were really interested in knowing her, like they had found a new friend or something.

Look, their eyes were even sparkling.

"Umm… Well… She's a futa too and she just taught me that there were underwear for futas that I was missing out on… We set a date this weekend to go shopping for some…"

Katsuki nodded, "I see. Please be careful of her, Mistress."

"Can I come along as well?!" Odeta asked.

"Umm… Maybe next time… It'll be a little awkward I think…"

She pouted but did not protest.
