Chapter 19: STANDING BY THE RIVER, K-I-S-S-I-N-G

When they finally arrived at the river, Bai Chen desperately wanted to moisten his throat which was like having a long drought with water. He didn’t care about cleanliness anymore as he immediately ran into the river and splashed water on his face.

“Why is the water so cold?” Bai Chen suddenly shouted after the water ran down his face. He even rose from his position as he turned to face Zhu Ge, who was standing behind him.

Seeing how angry the shorter man was, Zhu Ge sighed heavily. “The water in this river comes from the glaciers on the snow mountain, so of course, the water will be very cold.”

The black-haired man didn’t tell him about the facts beforehand, and Bai Chen’s blue eyes glared at the man after hearing the explanation.

“But because the water is straight from the top of the snow mountain, I guarantee that the water is clean. It is not polluted by anything, so it can be drunk safely,” the man in red added.

Even if Bai Chen was annoyed, he admitted that Zhu Ge was not wrong. They were close to the snow mountain, so the headwaters of the river must be in the snow mountain. He should have guessed it without waiting for Zhu Ge’s explanation.

Bai Chen’s top priority was to wet his throat, and now that he was right by the river with water that was so clean, he couldn’t just leave the water and let his throat suffer for too long.

.....

And finally, the brunette turned around once more before crouching down to scoop the water with both hands. Zhu Ge smirked when he saw the man’s behavior.

The cold water finally entered Bai Chen’s mouth before wetting his parched throat, and although the cold was a little unbearable, Bai Chen still groaned in satisfaction after he was able to quench his thirst.

“I heard that werewolves are not afraid of the cold. Are the rumors not true?”

Bai Chen could hear Zhu Ge’s question, and he only glanced at the other man with no intention of turning around.

He noticed that the werewolf empire was near the snow mountain, and he assumed that werewolves were indeed not afraid of the cold. But, he was only a human who had just transmigrated to this world, and the real him did not make friends with the cold. That was why he was shocked when his face came into contact with the cold water earlier.

But now that the cold water had entered his stomach, he thought the feeling wasn’t too bad. Perhaps his werewolf body could tolerate the taste of the ice.

“I was just surprised,” Bai Chen replied. “But you’re right about the water. It’s very clean and fresh, and it quenches my thirst immediately.”

Zhu Ge looked satisfied when he heard Bai Chen’s answer. “Just enjoy the water to your heart’s content then,” he replied.

Hearing the man’s statement, Bai Chen shrugged before returning to the water to drink more. He also splashed water on his face, and even if his body shivered a little, he somehow felt pleased because of the water.

Zhu Ge was still standing behind the man, and no one could read his thoughts as he continued to stare at the Prince’s narrow back.

But, suddenly, his relaxed expression was replaced by a wary one as his ears caught a rustling sound from behind.

He furrowed his brows as he tried to identify the sound, and without turning his body, he suddenly walked over to Bai Chen before forcing the man to stand up.

Bai Chen screamed as his body was forcibly pulled by someone, but his voice was muffled when his lips were locked by another pair of lips, and two hands covered his ears securely.

His brain failed to function, his body refused to move, and he could only widen his eyes when he realized that Zhu Ge was kissing him right on the lips!

Bai Chen was greatly taken aback, but then he came back to his senses again as he tried to free himself from the man’s grip. Unfortunately, the taller man only tightened his grip every time he tried to break free.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

The kiss also intensified, and Bai Chen cried inwardly, ‘Why did this man suddenly kiss me? Does he want to do something to me? But we’re out in the open now, and people might see it!-oh! That’s not the main problem! Still, why did this man kiss me?’

Bai Chen felt like he was being assaulted, and his eyes were even wet from the man’s behavior towards him. In the end, he used all the strength in his body to push against the man’s chest, and the connection between them was finally disconnected.

Zhu Ge fell on the countless pebbles, and he looked like he was in pain. However, Bai Chen paid no heed to the man’s painful expression as he roughly wiped his lips with the back of his hand.

“Why did you kiss me?” Bai Chen tried to scream to make himself look intimidating in front of the other man, but his voice cracked because he was on the verge of crying now.

Zhu Ge didn’t answer immediately, and instead, he rose from his position before patting the back of his red clothes. “I was just trying to save you,” he replied.

In Bai Chen’s ears, the answer sounded like complete nonsense, and thus, he sneered at the man, “You’re trying to save me? I’m a werewolf, but I don’t feel any danger around me. What are you trying to save me from? The only danger around me is you!”

Bai Chen spoke harshly, but because he didn’t say any swear words, the system didn’t give him a warning.

On the other hand, Zhu Ge stared at him flatly as he replied, “It’s up to you if you refuse to believe my words, but I must say that you are a weak werewolf for not being aware of the dangers around you. In my eyes, you’re just a useless werewolf.”
