Chapter 106 Conversation With Xiao Ling In Dungeon

After concluding the battle, Wang Jian restrained the two women using his formidable King Realm binding chains.

He ensured that they were bound securely, preventing any chance of escape. He carried them to the Black Castle and threw them in separate chambers of the dungeon.

He then returned to the town square, where a crowd had gathered, including members of the Lin Clan, Ji Clan, Dao of Alchemy Society, and the Meng Clan, eagerly waiting for his arrival.

The City Lord breathed a sigh of relief as he realized that he had chosen the right side. Meanwhile, Xiao Ling, Bixi Shuyan, and Zhang Fei's expressions turned deathly pale upon seeing Wang Jian's return successfully.

Meng Xiangyi and Xu Yuting frowned slightly, realizing that Wang Jian's strength was far beyond what they had anticipated.

Despite knowing the capabilities of Lady Zhuoran and Mei Yan, the fact that they had lost to Wang Jian left them in awe of his true power.

Bixi Shuyan's voice trembled as she demanded, "Where is my mother? What have you done to her?"

Wang Jian's lips curled into a wicked smirk, and he replied with a hint of sadism, "Oh, your mother is safe... for now. I have her captive, and she'll be dealt with in due time."

Bixi Shuyan's eyes blazed with fury, "If you harm her in any way, I'll make sure you pay with your life."

Wang Jian shrugged her off and surveyed the battlefield before him. The ground was littered with corpses of humans and beasts, a testament to the carnage that had taken place.

These corpses were once members of powerful clans like Lin, Ji, and Meng or the prestigious Dao of Alchemy Society.

As for the beast corpses, these were once members of tribes that were subservient to the Silver-Tailed Fox Clan.

He let out a deep sigh and commanded the surviving members of the Lin and Ji Clan, "Clean up this mess. Leave nothing behind."

As the Lin and Ji Clan members commenced cleaning up the battlefield, Wang Jian scooped up the bound Bixi Shuyan, Xiao Ling, and Zhang Fei and flew towards the Black Castle.

He hurled them into separate chambers of the dungeon, ensuring they were locked up tightly.

Wang Jian had a specific reason why he didn't instantly take Zhang Fei's life. And that was to gain more destiny points.

Wang Jian had a specific reason for keeping Zhang Fei alive.

He knew that if he killed him, all his heroines would stop providing him with destiny points, as he learned from his encounter with the first protagonist, Lin Feng.

Wang Jian was not one to waste an opportunity to farm points, so he chose to keep Zhang Fei as a means to gain more destiny points.

The first woman Wang Jian decided to target was none other than Xiao Ling. He knew that she was the most beloved and the closest woman to Zhang Fei.

Breaking her would allow him to reap the greatest benefit.

Wang Jian's footsteps echoed through the cold, damp dungeon as he approached the restrained Xiao Ling. He observed her with a wicked smile on his face, admiring her as she struggled against the chains that bound her.

"...I have always wanted to talk to you, Xiao Ling," he spoke, his voice laced with amusement.

Xiao Ling glared back at him, fire in her eyes. "Don't you dare utter my name from your filthy mouth!" she raged.

"Really?" Wang Jian replied, his grin growing wider. "Even when I am the only one who knows the truth regarding the destruction of the Xiao Clan."

Xiao Ling's eyes widened in shock and anger. "What do you mean? What do you know?" she demanded.

Wang Jian simply chuckled, his amusement growing. "Oh, I know quite a bit. But it's more fun to watch you squirm, my dear."

He leaned in closer, his breath hot against her ear. "I must say, you look rather lovely in chains," he whispered. "Maybe I'll keep you here for a while."

Xiao Ling's face twisted with disgust and fury. "You're sick," she spat.

"Perhaps I am," Wang Jian responded while maintaining that smirk.

"Tell me. What do you know about my family's destruction?" Xiao Ling asked furiously with a hint of curiosity.

Wang Jian gazed at Xiao Ling with a greedy expression, taking in her every feature as if she were an exotic delicacy. With a low chuckle, he began, "It's an interesting tale. You became a servant to the very clan that helped annihilate your Xiao Clan."

Xiao Ling's face contorted in disbelief. "That's impossible," she spat. "The Zhang Clan was a noble and righteous clan. They would never commit such an atrocity as destroying my clan. We had nothing but amicable business dealings with them."

Wang Jian narrowed his eyes and leaned in closer to Xiao Ling. "You see, the truth is that your clan's destruction was not a mere coincidence or some random attack. It was all because of a rare alchemy recipe your clan possessed."

Xiao Ling's eyes widened in shock. "What? How could a recipe be the cause of my clan's destruction?" she asked in disbelief.

Wang Jian smirked. "The recipe was highly sought after by all the major clans in Qianwei Town, including yours. However, your clan refused to share it with anyone. They thought they could keep it all to themselves and monopolize the market."

Xiao Ling's heart sank as she realized that Wang Jian might be telling the truth. She recalled the whispers she heard among the servants in the Zhang Clan's mansion regarding a rare alchemy recipe.

"And then what happened?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Wang Jian's expression turned cold. "All the clans banded together to destroy the Xiao Clan and take the recipe for themselves. The Zhang Clan played a crucial part in this, but they kept their involvement a secret. Your clan was destroyed, and the recipe was taken by the Zhang Clan."

Xiao Ling couldn't believe what she was hearing. She couldn't help but recall the time she began serving Zhang Fei in the Zhang Clan's mansion, and she remembered his grandfather's grave injuries.

It all seemed to fit together, and she couldn't deny that Wang Jian might be telling the truth.

Wang Jian looked at her with a sneer. "You see, Xiao Ling, appearances can be deceiving, especially in business."

Xiao Ling's heart was racing, and her eyes widened in shock as she tried to make sense of what Wang Jian was saying.

Her hands were shaking, and she could feel the weight of the chains that bound her.

As she tried to gather her thoughts, she suddenly remembered something that didn't make sense.

"W-why then would Brother Fei help me out by giving me money to provide a proper funeral for my mother?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion. She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

Wang Jian's face twisted into a sinister smile as he responded, "It's not hard to guess, Xiao Ling. Your beauty is your biggest asset, and that must have been what attracted Zhang Fei to you. He probably wanted you all to himself.

He further added, "In fact, it's only because of these good looks of yours that I'm taking the time to reveal the truth to you."

Xiao Ling's face contorted in anger as she spat out, "You're disgusting."

Wang Jian chuckled darkly, "I am simply stating facts. The truth can be unpleasant, but it is still the truth.

"It is also the truth that I didn't come looking to capture you. It's you who came while trying to free Zhang Fei. The only person responsible for your current state is yourself. The quicker you understand this, the better it will be for you," Wang Jian spoke firmly.

Wang Jian stood up, a smug grin playing across his face as he left Xiao Ling in her dungeon. His intention had been to sow seeds of doubt in her mind, to make her question whether the Zhang Clan was responsible for her family's downfall.

Despite Wang Jian's lies, the truth remained that the Zhang Clan had played no part in the destruction of the Xiao Clan.

If only Xiao Ling was given a chance to investigate, she would see the falsehood in Wang Jian's words.

But Wang Jian wasn't finished yet. He had grand plans to spread rumours of the Zhang Clan's supposed involvement in the Xiao Clan's demise.

With the Lin and Ji Clans at his disposal, he could use their connections to turn the tide of public opinion against the Zhang Clan.

After dealing with Xiao Ling, Wang Jian decided to meet with her master, Mei Yan.

Wang Jian made his way to the deepest part of the dungeon where Mei Yan, Xiao Ling's master, was being kept in chains.

Mei Yan was a breathtaking sight, even in her restrained state. Her traditional red Chinese dress hugged her curves perfectly, accentuating her beauty.

Despite her helpless position, her eyes were filled with defiance as she glared at Wang Jian.

As he entered the chamber, a chair appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and Wang Jian sat down, never once taking his eyes off Mei Yan.

He couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as he looked at her.

"You are quite the exquisite sight, Mei Yan," Wang Jian spoke with a depraved grin on his face. "I almost feel bad about the chains, but I suppose they are necessary."

Mei Yan remained silent, but her eyes burned with fury.
