Chapter 227 The Power Of The Half-Demon

Erdrich's skin began to change once more, as tattoos in the form of fire emerged around his body starting from his chest, these tattoos were actually the skin change from white to red, which was awakening his demon powers.

This red skin emerged like burning flame tattoos across his body through his chest, as black horns started to grow from his forehead and even a long tail appeared behind his back. His appearance was unique enough that many knew it was him and not a demon, the armor he wore also gave it away even better, so the soldiers and knights usually didn't attacked him nor were surprised by him… unless they saw him jumping around like a monkey by using his superhuman capabilities.

"RAAAH!"

CRAAAAASHHH!!!

Erdrich fell like a meteor against a Blue Oni attacking Ellergest and Seth, crushing the Blue Oni's head into the ground and splattering his skull through the floor like a watermelon!

BOOM!!!

His demon energy and mana were constantly merging and overflowing through his body, and recently Blank had even awakened his Ki, so he was even combining three energies together at the same time, gaining superb physical strength.

"Erdrich, I am glad you're safe!" Said Ellergest.

"You're so strong… But we are alright by ourselves, go assist Elizabeth! Her spirit just did something incredible, but it quickly dissipated and she weakened once more, go protect her and Jack!" Said Seth.

"U-Understood!" Said Erdrich, without even faltering, he moved forward, kicking and punching any imps that got on his way as he punched and kicked his way into Elizabeth, finding her surrounded by dozens of Imps and three Blue Onis wielding strong cursed weapons.

Because they saw her as a threat, they were actually being very careful while getting closer to her. they immediately saw the Angel she summoned, which was an enemy of the demons, and they immediately grew warier of her. She was a target they had to eliminate quickly but… also carefully. They had seen her fury with their two eyes, if she was let to go all out with it, she would surely end up killing many more of them.

Of course, they felt she was weakened and lacking Mana, but they were still too wary after what they saw her doing, so they were approaching her with a slow motion, while pointing their weapons at her.

Elizabeth bravely grabbed a golden knife that Ellergest had gifted to her, imbued with holy magic, it could easily pierce and burn demon skin and flesh. It was an expensive magic item and it was very hard to make them, so it was a birthday gift that she loved and appreciated the most.

As her arms trembled, Elizabeth pointed the knife at the demons approaching her, wary of her mysterious divine and holy powers.

"D-Don't get close…!" She cried, containing the tears from her eyes and the snot from her nose. She looked like a little girl lost and afraid, despite having fought so well, she was broken and tattered, weak and afraid… the Imps and Onis looked at one another, as malicious smiles emerged in their lips, showing their sharp teeth. They realized she was too weak to even fight back now.

"GRAH!"

One of the Blue Oni was bolder, moving forward, he kicked the girl's arm mercilessly, with enough strength to break her little arm in a single snap, alongside throwing her Holy Knife farther away!

CRASH!

…Crack!

"AAAGGGH…!"

Elizabeth cried in agony as her little arm broke. Jack's consciousness, which was already fading away into obscurity was awakened by Elizabeth's scream… with nobody to help so far away from everyone else, his body was moved by his instincts.

"L-Let Elizabeth alone…!" He cried, sitting down barely as his chains flew out of his hands, wrapping around the legs of the Blue Oni and making him trip into the ground!

BAM!

"GUAKH!"

The Blue Oni hatefully looked at Jack, as his arms quickly helped him crawl towards Elizabeth while still holding his cursed sword… and he pointed it at her! Jack attempted to defend her once more but his strength was so dismal now that he could not. His body tried to move but he could not, and he fell into the ground once more, he couldn't even breath properly anymore.

"Hahh… E-Eli… za… beth!"

"GRAAAAH!"

The Blue Oni roared loudly and savagely, as his cursed blade soon reached Elizabeth's head!

"ELIZABEEEETH!"

However, out of nowhere, the scream of a young boy resonated across the entire battlefield, as a half-demon boy, Erdrich, emerged from the back of the group of demons, kicking and punching them away and reaching the Blue Oni attacking Elizabeth, kicking him away savagely with all his might!

CLAAAASH!

"GRUAAAAHH…!"

The Blue Oni cried. Erdrich immediately stole his Cursed Blade, a weapon that could curse their wielder most of the time… unless they were demons, of course. Erdrich held the blade without any actual repercussion and immediately sensed a cursed dark power rushing through his body from the sword shrouded in demon blood until it became cursed.

SLASH!

He mercilessly swung it against the Blue Oni, slicing his head cleanly off. EXP quickly filled his EXP requirements, as he immediately leveled up once more, unleashing a bright aura from within that slightly increased his power.

"Hahhh… I-I made it on time." He sighed. However, even leveling up won't help him take away all the accumulated fatigue, but thanks to his great physique as a half-demon, which constantly evolved the more he leveled up, a power that demons lacked, he was still managing.

"E-Erdrich?!" Asked Elizabeth while in tears.

"D-Don't worry… Hahh… I will protect you, Elizabeth…!" Said Erdrich, as he swallowed saliva, he immediately began to feel nausea out of nowhere, after having fought so much, the overflowing energies inside of his body were turning into a burden more than strength.

The demons saw the figure of Erdrich, as they immediately realized he wasn't normal at all… He was a human yet also a demon? It was something they had never seen before… Despite having decapitated one of the Blue Oni, the other Blue Oni quickly tried to appease his fury and find some kinship within this stranger.

"Brother! Why are you siding with the humans?!"

"Wha…?!"

And Erdrich could understand their language.
