Chapter 225 Carnage

Elizabeth wasn't trained to fight at close quarters, as she specialized in using her magic to fight and heal others. The moment two Blue Oni ran towards her, quickly realizing she was emanating a strong amount of Holy Energy and quickly being targeted as a big threat to them, she wasn't able to react in time… But Jack was able to, immediately running in front of her and guarding her from the two attackers, with barely any Mana, he unleashed a flash of bright light against the laughing Blue Oni, slightly blinding them.

"Light Flash!"

FLAAAASH!

"G-GRYYAAAH…!"

"GUUUAAH!"

The two Blue Oni were surprised by the blinding light for a split of a second, but one of them pushed forward, holding a sword and quickly attacking the mana-less Jack!

SLASH!

"G-Guhh…?!"

Elizabeth's eyes opened wide as she saw Jack's state, as the sword covered in demon blood by the Blue Oni pierced right through his stomach, blood splattering all over her face and clothes as Jack himself vomited a mouthful of blood. His breathing quickly began to turn unstable, as his mind started to feel dizzy, the toxic demonic energy was already seeping through the interior of his body.

"J-Jack…?"

Elizabeth silently muttered Jack's name, as she looked at the young man looking back at the Blue Oni piercing his body with a sword. He immediately unleashed his spirit's powers once more, as without mana, he began to put his own life into the energy required to bring the chains out.

Seeing their companion in such a state by such a lethal wound, Seth and Ellergest both screamed as they immediately ran towards his aid.

"JAAAAAAACK!!!" Cried Seth, unleashing his Holy Flames and pushing forward, only being stopped by over ten Imps and another two Blue Onis that ended entering the formation!

"Y-YOU BASTARDS!!!" Seth roared, losing all of his composure as his emotions were made into a mess. His flames created through Wisp emerged like an infernal hell of holiness, burning through the Imps in front of him as he ate a Mana Pill to recover Mana quicker and then attacked a Blue Oni in front of him, smacking it with his staff!

CLASH!

"GRYAAH…!!!" The Blue Oni fell into the ground due to the Seth's fury, as he ran towards Jack while ignoring the Blue Oni behind him, who quickly pointed a club towards him and swung it with all his force!

CRAAAASH!

"UGH…!"

BAM!

Seth ended falling into the floor in an instant, as he felt like his spine was dislocated, completely losing his senses below his hips, as his legs couldn't move and he was unable to crawl back properly! Seth gritted his teeth as he pointed his staff at the Blue Oni, attempting to conjure an attack only to have his hand crushed by the Blue Oni's feet, cracking his arm's bones!

CRACK…!

"AAAAGGH…!"

Ellergest looked into the battlefield, not only his close apprentices were being overwhelmed but the other Priests were all getting… killed! Three priests had already been killed and the others were fighting for their lives while the knights and soldiers attempted to help them, only being pushed back by emerging smaller groups of Imps that were constantly throwing their lives away to distract them.

Ellergest immediately unleashed his wrath, as he summoned his Holy Gold Dragon and commanded it to attack the Blue Oni… But he had to make a choice. Should he save Elizabeth and the dying Jack, or Seth?

Elizabeth looked at the dying Jack, as his eyes slowly began to lose their light while he poured his very soul and life into conjuring his Spirit, which chained him and the Blue Oni together. The Blue Oni struggled to free itself, but it was futile.

"Jack…!" Cried Elizabeth, quickly conjuring healing magic, but it was futile with a sword still piercing him, even more, all the demonic energy inside of Jack was killing him like venom, he even began to cry blood.

"Elizabeth… Live… Run… away… Stupid brat…"

"No… no… NOOOOO!!!"

Erdrich heard Elizabeth's scream from the frontlines, where he had joined hands with the Hunters, Knights, and Soldiers in an intense battle against the endless army of Imps led by Blue Onis and the occasional Giant Demon.

"Elizabeth!" He cried, rushing back to the backlines at high speed by abusing his demonic transformation. In mere seconds, he reached the area, where the priests were being massacred by the demons who had infiltered the backlines… without them the entire formation would be broken! He immediately saw Jack being pierced by a sword and in death's door, all while Elizabeth screamed for Jack while trying to heal him, hugging him from the back.

"R-Run away… you stupid girl…! Graaha…! I am about to die, just go!" Cried Jack, trying to get Elizabeth away from him.

"No, Jack! Don't die! Don't die!!!" Cried Elizabeth, as Jack quickly realized three Imps holding spears were stealthily approaching the back of Elizabeth! He wasn't even able to move anymore to stop them either!

"R-Run! There are Imps behind you, idiot! RUN!" Roared Jack at Elizabeth, as she looked behind her. Her tearful face quickly turned into divine wrath, as a holy power suddenly began to awaken from within Elizabeth's Spirit Orb.

"W-What… the…?!" Muttered Jack in shock, as he saw the Cherubin that Elizabeth could summon suddenly become illuminated by an incredible, all-encompassing holy light! The Cherubin suddenly shapeshifted, growing taller and more adult-like, resembling a handsome blonde man covered by a toga, an angel.

"RAAAAAH!!!"

And with Elizabeth's furious cry, the angel's eyes shone with bright golden light.
