Chapter 507 The Subjets' Strength

Name:Undying Warlord Author:HideousGrain
"Are you ready to die?" Dilan asked lightly, his gaze fully focused on the huge city ahead of him.

"Only if I'm allowed to go on a rampage and kill whoever I want, including children, pregnant women, and virgins!" The Demon Spider towering next to Dilan declared, causing Dilan to sigh deeply.

"How often do I have to tell you this, you are supposed to attack the tarnished human Ascenders, not anyone innocent!" Dilan reminded him in a stern voice yet again, but the Demon Spider shook its head vehemently.

"And how often do I have to tell you that I don't care what you say?" It retorted, causing Dilan to flick his hand to his right side irritatedly. As a result, one of the Spider Demon's legs was cut off.

Green blood oozed out of the wound while the Demon Spider began to scream at the top of its lungs.

"I can cut off another leg when I throw you inside the city. That's enough distraction for me to find my father," Dilan said, controlling his emotions at the mention of his father.

It had been around half an hour since he had summoned the Demon Spider, using the Blood Eclipse Necklace. It had drained around 200 Units of Mana from him and he had used the momentum to replenish his used-up mana and to get a rough understanding of the city's infrastructure.

There were only humans inside the city, but the overall situation was far from normal. There weren't too many powerful humans, but that small batch was a lot stronger than expected.

At first, Dilan thought that this small batch only consisted of the Ascenders with an Origin ability or some sort of other unique traits.

However, the final result was something entirely different because the small batch belonged to his father's most loyal Ascenders. They were a part of his source of power, something Dilan had to cut off clearly before encountering his father, whose Origin ability was the cause of the problematic situation.

[Overlord] was the name of his Origin ability, and Jörg had explained to Dilan that the Origin ability became stronger the more loyal subjects the wielder submitted. Jörg only knew about the function of the President's Origin ability because Arnes had asked the former Minister of Defense to become his loyal subject.

In the end, Jörg received a large amount of information from Arnes to have a rough understanding of the ability, only for him to reject the offer. Not only would every subject of the [Overlord] Origin ability become a puppet that had to follow the commands of his master, but 2.5% of every subject's power would be transferred to the wielder of the Origin ability.

In exchange for 2.5% of the Ascenders' strength, the Overlord Origin ability would transfer portions of the wielder's elemental abilities, talent, and comprehension ability.

To Dilan, it didn't really matter whether that exchange was fair or not. He just knew that he had to kill hundreds of his father's loyal subjects before fighting his father. If he could weaken his father before their fight would even begin, Dilan would gladly do so!

And thus, the Demon Spider had been summoned with the target being the easily distinguishable subjects of the President.

"Just do what I said and you might even be able to survive," Dilan didn't feel like wasting more time. He pulled the Blood Eclipse necklace out from under his shirt and showed it to the Demon Spider.

"I think you will be stronger if you use your strength as per your own wish, but I can force you nonetheless. I am giving you the chance to possibly survive, so listen to me, or die miserably!" He was getting tired of the spider's antics and gave a final warning. And it worked for it was not even half a minute later that the spider succumbed. She listened to his follow-up commands and came up with a bunch of ways to entrap hundreds of humans.

Meanwhile, Dilan ended up nodding his head, satisfied that he summoned a Demon Spider rather than the Ice Demon or some other demon.

The surrounding area was filled with mountains, and Dilan's current location was in a deeper part of two mountains more than ten kilometers away from the outskirts of his father's city. There was not much for him to do other than resting and paying attention to his surroundings until the Demon Spider finished with the preparations.

"Now you have to show me how dangerous you are!" Dilan exclaimed while activating a customized version of [Taunt] for the first time.

The Taunt he used was a generalized taunt for Tier-3 beings with a specific trait. This trait could control both darkness and light, exactly what his father possessed. However, the Taunt of the Artifact of Traction was customized in a way that only beings with a very shallow connection to both elements would be taunted!

This was to prevent his father from finding out about his trap, and the attack he had planned. One after another, Ascenders were pulled outside the city. Their speed was rapid and it looked like their urgency increased while Dilan kept reusing Taunt.

Thus, more than a hundred Ascenders found themselves in front of the Demon Spider, confusion gleaming in the eyes of the oblivious humans.

"Was it this spider that pulled us away from home?" One of the Ascenders asked and the others nodded their heads, agreeing to the possibility.

"It's possible that it was the spider, but that would have been lucky. Unfortunately, you guys are not that lucky, I'm sorry!" Dilan appeared behind the last Ascender, his [Walk of Thunder] fully unleashed. A thunderous noise resounded through the mountain range and a bright smile appeared on Dilan's face.

However, nobody was able to see his bright smile as his entire face was covered with a large mask of a golden oni. Issuing a quick slash, Dilan cut through the throat of the Ascender in front of him before he stepped ahead. He continued to activate Taunt to pull more of his father's subjects away from the city.

He wanted all of them to reach this place as soon as possible because he was slowly getting impatient. Dilan was ready to fight his father, not the weak subjects, who gave him more power to wield!

With that thought in mind, Dilan's steps accelerated and his killing spree commenced. He thrust the Cursed Dagger deep into the chest of a middle-aged man, and twisted the dagger's blade twice before he kicked the writhing body into the crowd. Afterward, he beheaded the woman to his right with a sideways slash without even looking at her.

Dilan burst forward, he evaded some of the spiderwebs the Demon Spider had fired and he witnessed how the remaining Ascenders were slowly getting caught in the traps the Demon Spider had set up.

"Looks like you won't have to die!" Dilan announced to the Demon Spider, who rolled all of her eyes in response. Dilan didn't want to waste too much mana for now. Thus, he merely kept [Walk of Thunder] activated, while the rest of his abilities were waiting to be unleashed.

As he continued his killing spree, Dilan felt like a Blood Reaper. He took the lives of everyone, who obstructed his plans in the slightest and he didn't show any remorse to his enemies.

"You should have noticed the deprivation of your strength by now," Dilan mumbled quietly, and his smile widened even further,

"Are you already on your way?"
