Chapter 111 Relocation

Name:Undying Warlord Author:HideousGrain
Relocating was easier said than done.

It was not difficult to provide enough fuel for the buses because there were numerous abandoned cars around the police station.

Taking out their fuel and filling it in the tanks of the buses was done in a matter of minutes.

However, the more problematic factor was that when the engine revved to life, it made very loud noises which attracted some monsters, while the streets were blocked off by zombie crowds and vehicles.

Dilan was strong enough to move the cars and other vehicles around and to annihilate the groups of zombies to create a way for the buses to move.

But Dilan couldn’t protect all three buses at the same time when they would start moving forward.

That was why he chose to run next to the second bus. Simultaneously, each bus had two scouts, one to observe and protect the survivors from attacks on each side.

This was an added security measure through which the scouts could report to Dilan the moment they saw monsters, humans or mythical beasts.

Only some basic preparations were needed before the Survivors’ transport was completed rather easily as long as they avoided more powerful Tier-1 monsters.

Fortunately, Dilan knew the position of most of them as they didn’t move much owing to their territorial behavior, which was why he had created a proper path towards the Rian mountainside hospital.-.

It was a 20-minute drive from the police station owing to some detours they had to make.

However, that was perfectly fine.

Taking everything into consideration, the new Survivors should be able to sleep on mattresses after filling their stomachs with a freshly prepared, warm meal.

This was something Dilan was certain of.

He had returned to Kathrine and the others to explain the situation, and to tell them to focus on preparing everything for close to 600 new Survivors!

At first, Kathrine and the others were shocked. They thought that Dilan would annihilate the gang, and not take them under his wing just like that.

This was unexpected, but considering that Dilan appeared to be confident in the decision he took, everyone could only agree.

Even if it sounded dangerous to have gang members in their group, it was quite obvious that Dilan would kill them the moment they would try raping someone.

His rules were quite simple, and nobody doubted that Dilan would have no mercy on anyone who broke them.

As such, instead of feeling overly scared about the gang members, the female Survivors felt reassured of having more than 100 Survivors with combat experience to protect their home.

The Survivors even forgot about the fact that a small group of the exact same gang had attacked them just a day ago, or maybe they were just trying to ignore that particular incident, thinking that it would be fine because nobody died.

Because Dilan was able to take a shortcut with his terrifyingly high Agility, he reached the Rian mountainside hospital in less than 10 minutes.

In the end, he was less than half an hour away from the police station, just to see that most people were already fully prepared to leave.

Many Survivors in the police station were starving, and it looked like they might collapse due to dehydration.

Unfortunately, Dilan could only solve a few problems at once. That was why he chose to tell Williams and his inner ring of five people to hunt a few zombies.

They were supposed to give the Essence crystals to the weakest Survivors in order to keep them alive.

This worked out much better than expected as the devoured Essence provided the Survivors with enough energy to nourish their bodies.

In the end, Dilan never stopped moving and the relocation of 581 Survivors began.

Several hours passed in the blink of an eye before Dilan found himself in the cafeteria in an overly exhausted state.

It was already quite late at night and the three buses at the police station had finally stopped as well.

With the last batch of goods being brought over, the first relocation had been completed.

There had been quite a few groups of monsters that tried to ambush the buses during their trip to and from the Rian mountainside hospital but Dilan eradicated them in no time.

While Dilan worked hard outside the hospital, Kathrine and the others moved around everything within the cafeteria to make some space.

Instead of being used as a sleeping place, barracks, workshop to grind weapons, kitchen and a place to eat, the cafeteria returned to its original appearance.

Several rooms were cleared in order to turn into barracks, the workshop where one could turn body parts of monsters into weapons, sew the hide of monsters to create protective garments and so on.

The first floor was solely used for facilities which the entire community required.

This included the workshop for potions as well.

Dilan hoped that there would be someone with an alchemy-focused ability in the batch of 581 Survivors out of which more than 500 had yet to procure their first ability!

As such, while the ground floor was used differently, a part of the second floor and the entire third floor were occupied by the Survivors.

Only the left corridor on the second floor was not occupied because Oliver and the others were still not sure how to make use of the Gate’s breakout.

It was uncertain whether they should simply allow the waves to occur, or if it was necessary to delay them by offering Essence crystals as a tribute to the Gate.

But that was not important for now because the next Gate breakout was more than two weeks away.

By then, more than 100 Ascenders would have reached level 10, and would have powerful equipment upon them!

That was Dilan’s next plan as he required many powerful Ascenders to mine the Silver iron, Jadetite, and Lumina crystals, and to safeguard the others!

However, even if that was his next big goal, Dilan knew that he couldn’t neglect the Survivors he had recently brought in.

Everyone was a little bit nervous about the future. That was why he had to give the Survivors the necessary reassurance to calm them down.

Providing them food was already a good start. Meanwhile, the lack of potable water was the next thing he had to solve.

“The fastest way would be to burrow a truck with a water tank and to fill it at the river nearby. But even that could be quite dangerous to do right now…” Williams suggested when the problem of the water scarcity came up.

After the relocation had been completed, Williams, his inner ring of five people, Dilan and his people came together to devise a foolproof future plan.

Everyone received the reports of the other camp, which made it much easier for them to be up to date.

Having everyone prepare reports made things more efficient. This was one reason for Dilan to order everyone to write down the information they procured.

Another reason was the simple fact that one could re-read some facts to gain a better understanding of something if one was not sure about the exact pieces of information.

There were more things to reconsider, but that was not of importance right now.

“That’s not necessary for now. We will procure a few more [Rings of Yarad] from the Gate. If I’m correct this should be feasible. The only issue is that we need quite a few ordinary Essence crystals to exchange them with <Trash> treasures at the Gate on the second floor!”

Dilan was already exhausted, and he wanted to sleep. However, his responsibility was far more important than a little bit of exhaustion or sleep.

As such, he simply announced,

“I will start clearing the next floors from the fifth and upward. We should clear the entire hospital soon either way!

Give me a few trustworthy Survivors, who are ready to pull out Essence crystals, and I will eliminate the threats of the next four floors in the next three hours!”
