Chapter 147.1

The woman’s eyes overflowed with happiness and the corners of her eyes and brows were also full of smiles. She smiled brightly as she held a bowl of soup in both hands, walked quickly to the table and placed the bowls on the table next to the dishes.

The man walked over, put his arms around the woman’s slender waist and kissed her between her eyebrows: “Thank you for your hard work.”

The woman shook her head gently and raised her eyes to look at the man. Her face and eyes were full of love for the man and she said softly: “It’s not hard.”

The man and the woman were affectionate for a while and then they took the little boy to sit down and eat.

The little boy has always been quiet. He does whatever his parents say and is extremely obedient and well-behaved.

Wen Chi had nowhere to go, so he could only stay around this family of three.

He tried many times, but no matter how loud he shouted, the couple couldn’t hear him and he couldn’t touch them. His outstretched hand would go through their bodies when he tried to touch them.

Slowly, an idea emerged in Wen Chi’s mind – he suspected that he was dead and now he had become a lonely ghost.

This thought made him feel scared and he subconsciously leaned closer to the little boy. He tentatively stretched out his hand and tried to put his hand on the little boy’s shoulder.

Unfortunately, his hand still passed through the little boy’s body.

However, the little boy who was having his meal noticed his actions and tilted his shoulders forward in disgust – but he didn’t avoid it.

Wen Chi: “…”

As if he didn’t see Wen Chi’s irritated gaze, the little boy used a spoon to scoop up the soup and pass it into his mouth without changing his expression.

“What are you hiding for?” Wen Chi muttered  in frustration, “I just touched you, I didn’t do anything to you.”

The little boy didn’t even give Wen Chi a look as he continued to drink the soup.

Wen Chi puffed out his cheeks and was angry for a while. Seeing that the little boy still ignored him, he suddenly felt bored.

“Kid, it seems that only you can see me.” Wen Chi came up and sighed, “Why can’t your parents see me? Could it be that I have really become a lonely ghost?”

The little boy lowered his eyes, completely blocking out Wen Chi from his sight.

Wen Chi knew that the little boy could not behave strangely in front of his parents, so he stopped pestering the little boy. At least the fact that the little boy could see him comforted him and the fear in his heart also eased a lot.

He sat on the empty seat next to the little boy, supported his chin with his hands, and said to himself while watching the little boy eat: “Why am I here? It seems like I’ve been here as soon as I opened my eyes. Did someone throw me here? But even a lonely soul should have some kind of memories.”

As he spoke, he patted his head dejectedly, “Hai, this brain of mine, it really doesn’t remember anything.”

Then, he became curious again: “What’s your name? I just heard them call you Xiao Ye.”

Hearing this, the little boy’s hand holding the spoon suddenly tightened.

“Are you really called Xiao Ye?” Wen Chi was still talking to himself, “But there are many characters for Ye. Which ‘Ye’ are you?”

Before Wen Chi finished speaking, the little boy suddenly put down the spoon and stood up suddenly.

The men and women who were talking stopped one after another and turned to look at the little boy in confusion.

The little boy whispered: “I’m full.”

After saying that, he ran away.

When Wen Chi saw this, he quickly followed.

The little boy ran straight out of the house, turned around and came to a small house on the right1(Usually ancient houses are made up of several buildings). He quickly opened the door, glanced at Wen Chi running towards him with a cold expression, and slammed the door close before Wen Chi arrived.

Wen Chi, who was caught off guard and rejected: “…”

Wen Chi was so angry that he wanted to slap the door panel hard but he didn’t expect that his hand would actually pass through the door panel.

He was immediately surprised and didn’t know what was going on, so he instinctively stretched out his other hand and both hands passed through the door panel.

Soon, Wen Chi’s whole body passed through the door. He looked down at his hands, and then looked up to see the little boy standing upright in front of the window, looking at him expressionlessly.

Wen Chi looked at the deflated expression of the little boy and laughed mercilessly: “Hahahahahahaha, you see I can pass through doors. It’s useless even if you close the door hahahahaha…”

Maybe Wen Chi smiled too wantonly and the little boy’s face became darker and darker and the pair of beautiful phoenix eyes became gloomy. He was completely different from the obedient and well-behaved kid just now.

Looking at the little boy’s gloomy eyes, Wen Chi stopped laughing – he wimped out.

But then he thought about how he was already a lonely ghost and even if the little boy had extraordinary abilities, he couldn’t hurt him at all, he felt confident again and even put his hands on his hips to strengthen his courage.

“What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen a handsome guy?”

The little boy stared at Wen Chi for a long time, then suddenly said in a deep voice: “Are you a ghost?”

Wen Chi scratched his chin, a little confused: “I don’t know if I am a human or a ghost.  I woke up like this, but if you’re the only one who can see me, I should be a ghost.”

The little boy looked as if this had nothing to do with him and was quite impatient: “If you are a ghost, go and be reincarnated as soon as possible. Don’t wander around in my house.”

Wen Chi was unhappy: “Not to mention whether I am a ghost or not, if I am really a ghost, I have to know where to reincarnate, right? Do you know where to reincarnate?”

The little boy frowned: “How do I know?”

Wen Chi frowned and said: “I don’t know either.”
