Chapter 109.1

Even when he knew that Shi Ye’s blood could heal all wounds, he never thought of using Shi Ye’s blood as medicine. It was blood, Shi Ye’s blood, not a medicine that grew in the soil.

But, this kid openly called Shi Ye a human panacea!

If the elders of the Hua family didn’t teach him, how would he know these things as a child?

Wen Chi was so angry that the hands holding the boy were trembling. He felt that he was about to vomit blood and wished he could beat the boy right away, but reason told him no to.

He hadn’t spoken yet but the boy thought his silence was a denial and said, “You can’t fool me, I can smell your scent, which is the same as that of panacea.”

Wen Chi glanced at the boy: “What smell?”

The boy licked his lips: “The smell of fragrant.”

Wen Chi lowered his face and walked out with the boy in his arms. Since the boy had already seen through his and Shi Ye’s identities, there was no need for him to hide it.

“Where is he?” Wen Chi asked, “Tell me and I will consider letting you live.”

Wen Chi thought that the boy would be stubborn, but the boy raised his hand decisively, pointing to the north: “What he wants is over there, and he’s bound to go there too.”

While carrying the boy, Wen Chi walked in the direction the boy pointed. As he walked, he couldn’t use his strength anymore, so he put the boy on the ground.

Although Wen Chi felt that the boy was very strange, he still couldn’t do anything to a child. So he planned to let the boy go alone, but he didn’t expect the boy to follow behind him.

On the way, Wen Chi lost his way but it was the boy who pointed him the right way again.

“Go along the road on the left and stop when you reach the lotus pond. What he wants is in the house on the right side of the lotus pond.”

Wen Chi doubted what the boy said but he had no choice but to follow the boy’s instructions. He was left with one option and that is to scurry around like a headless chicken.

Either way, it was just a matter of luck……

As they got closer and closer to the lotus pond, they met more and more Hua family members on the road but without exception, they had injuries of all sizes.

Wen Chi quickly hid and when those Hua family members saw the boy, their original hurried footsteps slowly stopped.

“Rongsi! Why are you here? It’s dangerous here, why don’t you hurry back to your room and stay there!”

The boy named Rong Si instantly returned to his childlike innocence, nodding his head in confusion and saying yes repeatedly.

The people who greeted Rong Si came and went in such a hurry, they didn’t even notice that Rong Si’s arm was injured, they only told Rong Si to go back quickly.

Wen Chi took advantage of those people talking to Rong Si and flew towards the lotus pond.

There were a lot of people gathered near the lotus pond. So Wen Chi hid in the shadow of a tree branch, his eyes scanned over the crowd below and finally fell on the tall figure standing on the other side of the lotus pond.

The man was dressed all in black, with a veiled hat on his head. He was like a piece of wood, motionless and unaffected by all the people around him.

Wen Chi looked at the person and couldn’t move his gaze away anymore. His pupils gradually widened, filled with both surprise and shock.

Although that person was tightly wrapped from head to tail, he could recognize that person was Shi Ye.

It’s Shi Ye.

Even if he had changed his face, he could still recognize him instantly.

But why is Shi Ye standing still?

Before Wen Chi could figure it out, he heard two people talking from under the tree.

“I think that man is dying, why aren’t we attacking him, whether we win or lose at least there is a definite answer!”

“No, the second uncle and the grand princess have gone to the palace and haven’t come back yet. That lunatic has hurt so many people in our Hua family. What should we do if he escapes? We should delay as much as possible until the second uncle and the eldest princess come back.”

“But that person is already at the end of his rope, if we strike while the iron is hot, we might still be able to catch him, if we continue to delay, only then will he get a chance to escape.”

The two held their own opinions and argued endlessly.

Wen Chi frowned when he heard this and couldn’t help but look up at Shi Ye in the distance. He found that Shi Ye hadn’t moved from the beginning to the end, just as one of the men under the tree had said – he was at the end of his rope.

Watching those people slowly approaching the lotus pond, Wen Chi quickly became an ant on a hot pot.

For the first time in his life, he felt so helpless. Shi Ye was clearly standing within his reach, but he felt that Shi Ye was so far away from him, so far that there were so many people between them.

What should he do?

He really didn’t know what to do.

Wen Chi really wanted to rush out, but he was afraid that not only would he not be able to help Shi Ye but he would actually harm Shi Ye.

What’s more, with so many people now, he really didn’t have the confidence to walk up to Shi Ye under the nose of those people.

While Wen Chi was struggling endlessly, those surrounding Shi Ye tightened their circle again. They seemed to see Shi Ye’s weakness and became more reckless.

Seeing this, Wen Chi gritted his teeth and rushed out.

But before he had time to make a move, a fiery red figure descended from the sky, landing right in front of Shi Ye.

The soft sword with fierce killing intent swept across the air like a snake, spreading the sword qi in all directions and the few Hua family members who were close let out a scream of misery, their faces and bodies soaked in bright red blood as they were too late to dodge.

Zuo Zhi’s sudden appearance was undoubtedly like throwing a heavy stone into the originally calm lake and the Hua family  suddenly became furious and rushed forward with their swords, regardless of the consequences.

Zuo Zhi was holding the sword, her head and face were covered as tightly as Wen Chi, only her exposed eyes were full of cold stern light. Her hands showed no mercy, and the sword swept over the ground, splattering with blood.

At this moment, Shi Ye, who was standing behind Zuo Zhi, soared into the sky and flew straight towards Wen Chi.

All of them were preoccupied by Zuo Zhi and could not escape. They could only watch as Shi Ye flew to a tree and actually picked up another person hiding in the shadow of the tree and disappeared from their sight.

***

The wind, laced with snow, was a little painful on his face.

Wen Chi had to close his eyes and turn his face in to Shi Ye’s arms.

But soon, he felt that Shi Ye’s strength was exhausted and after a while, both of them fell into the snow.

Wen Chi was mentally prepared and hurriedly got up from the snow: “Shi Ye!”

The veil on Shi Ye’s head fell into the snow, revealing his pale and sickly face. He pursed the corners of his mouth in pain and his pair of beautiful black eyes gradually lost focus. It took him a lot of effort to see Wen Chi’s face clearly.

“I’m poisoned.”
