Chapter 76.1

These four familiar words made Wen Chi blush instantly.

His intuition told him that the words “Heaven rewards hard work” written by Shi Ye on the calligraphy scroll were definitely not the literal meaning.

He held the calligraphy scroll with both hands and stared blankly at the large flowing characters, but his mind couldn’t help but recall what Shi Ye had whispered in his ear yesterday ……

Fuck!

He’s imagining it!

Wen Chi shook his head quickly, trying to get rid of those messy and yellow pictures but the more he resisted, the more those thoughts kept coming back to him.

Finally, Wen Chi closed the calligraphy scroll.

He let out a foul breath, turned his head as if felt something and met Liu De’s surprised eyes.

Liu De hesitated to speak and finally raised his finger to point at Wen Chi’s face: “Young Master Wen, your face is so red, you haven’t caught a wind chill, have you?”

Wen Chi: “…”

How could he have caught a wind chill when it was so hot?

But only now did he realize his gaffe, so he smiled awkwardly at Liu De and pretended to be nonchalant. He rolled up the scroll and put it on the stone table beside him.

However, Liu De still looked like he wanted to say something.

Wen Chi asked, “What’s wrong?”

Liu De sighed softly: “Young Master Wen, forgive me speaking out, after all, that is  something given to you by His Royal Highness, how can you just leave it on the side?”

Wen Chi paused for a moment, but after careful consideration, he thought that Liu De’s words were not unreasonable. What if the dog prince bumps into him later and then uses it to make trouble for him?

With this in mind, Wen Chi ran over and brought back the painting.

“But wouldn’t it be inconvenient for me to practice martial arts with it?”

Wen Chi held the scroll, first held it in his hand and then he planned to put it in his sleeve but the scroll was not small and it was a bit of a hindrance to put it in his sleeve, so he tossed about for a long time and finally held the calligraphy scroll helplessly.

Liu De was speechless  and held his forehead with a headache: “Why don’t Young Master Wen take this painting back first, I’ll wait for you here.”

Wen Chi agreed.

Seeing that Wen Chi was about to leave, Liu De added: “Young Master Wen, this calligraphy scroll is full of His Royal Highness’ good wishes for you. You can hang it on the bedside and look at it everyday. Think of it as the motivation to keep you going.”

“…” Wen Chi was silent, the corners of his mouth twitched. But he still agreed and quickly ran away with the scroll.

As Wen Chi went upstairs,  he thought to himself that the Dog prince was really a psycho, he had somehow given him a scroll and he had even written such misleading words on it.

Heavens reward hard work!

Hard work my ass!

Wen Chi ran back to the room in one breath, walked straight to the cabinet, opened the door of the cabinet and wanted to put the scroll in it.

But as soon as he put the scroll in, he saw the wooden box on the first shelf of the cabinet.

That familiar wooden box was placed here by Shi Ye at some point, lying quietly under his nose.

Wen Chi stared at the wooden box with a complicated expression for a while, then reached out to pick it up.

After he opened the wooden box, he saw several jade strips of different thicknesses inside. The thin ones were thinner than his index finger and the thick ones were as big as a baby’s wrist.

No wonder he thought this wooden box was so heavy before but he dared to think that there were so many jade bars in it.

And those kidnappers were right, even if Wen Chi was a layman who didn’t understand jade, he could tell that these jades were of the highest quality. When he touched it, it felt cold to the touch. But after touching them for sometime, he felt a slow flow of warmth seeping into the skin.

Wen Chi took a brief look at the jade bars and then put it back. He noticed that there seemed to be something pressed in the middle of the jade bar, which seemed to be a folded piece of paper.

He pulled out the paper after putting the wooden box back in its place.

After he opened the paper, a small white porcelain box suddenly fell out of it. It looked a bit like the rouge box Wen Chi had seen before but much smaller than the rouge box.

Wen Chi held the white porcelain box in the palm of his hand, squinted his eyes and read the tiny characters on the paper with some difficulty.

He looked at it for a long time and then his face flushed and his heart beat faster.

In the end, his face was hot as if it was about to burn. He reached out and touched his face, feeling like he could fry eggs on it.

On this paper…

This paper actually described in detail the process of how to use these jades.

And after Wen Chi finished reading it, he realized that the way to use these jades is not to stuff them directly into the back as he thought but to take a bath first, then clean them and then put a layer of ointment on both the jade and the back, massaging them in as he did so.

As for this white porcelain box, what it contained should be the ointment needed to use these jades.

At this moment, Wen Chi felt that the white porcelain box was burning to the touch.
