Chapter 47.1

Speaking of coaxing, Wen Chi’s face didn’t look very good.

Wen Chi looked at Eunuch Zhu crying and was at a loss for words, so he hurriedly spoke softly and comforted him for a while.

Ruo Fang and Ruo Tao were both sitting at the table waiting and when they saw Wen Chi running in in a hurry, they thought something had happened and hurriedly got up to welcome him.

Wen Chi took a sip of the tea poured by Ruo Tao, then waved his hands while panting and said, “I’m fine, why are you up so late?”

Ruo Tao said: “This maidservant and Ruo Fang were a little worried when we saw that the young master had not come back because it was getting  late and there was no news from Eunuch Zhu.”

Wen Chi smiled: “The Peach Blossom Banquet was quite lively and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince stayed relatively late before coming back.”

Ruo Tao said, “It’s fine as long as Young Master is safe.”

Also, just want to tell you, that Wen Chi’s character is very timid. There is a reason for that. If you read chapter 3 it says “He naturally knew what Shi Ye was talking about, maybe others didn’t but he, who had read the novel three times, knew exactly what he was talking about. Not considering Shi Ye’s eccentric temperament, he has a strange fetish – that is he does not like to kill the timid and weak, especially a cry baby.” So that pretty much answers his timid nature. But also, in the original novel Shi Ye was described as evil and since he wasn’t the protagonist Shi Ye’s personality wasn’t described in detail. So obv Wen Chi doesn’t know that Shi Ye is a softy in the inside (soft only to Wen Chi). So Wen Chi is acting as a cry baby to save his neck. But with the progression of the novel there will be a character development in Wen Chi and also solve some mysteries to the character of Shi Ye.
