The next day, after breakfast and seeing off the tribe members who went out to hunt for food, the tribe’s empty field became even more lively.

Mocha was given an important task by Qin Fei, to lead a group of people to make a medicinal mud that could cover the scent and confuse the sense of smell of the bamboo wasps. Mocha was very happy with the assignment given by Qin Fei, and excitedly led the group to smash grass juice and dig up the soil on the field.

They said they were making medicine mud, but in fact, they just mixed the herbal juice into the mud with water. So Mocha gathered a group of people on the empty field, and they were playing with mud.

The children found playing with mud very fun, and they came around to join in the fun, laughing and making noise. Occasionally, they would mischievously wipe their muddy hands on the exposed skin of their playmates. Those who had mud wiped on them wouldn’t just sit quietly, they would immediately grab some mud and chase after the one who attacked them on the field. As they chased each other, the originally clean children became little monkeys covered in mud.

At first, the adults just laughed and scolded these mischievous children. Occasionally, two particularly naughty ones even put mud on the bodies of some adult males. The older males were okay and just laughed or gave a light slap on their butt to warn them. But the young males who had just reached adulthood, who were only a few years older than the bigger kids, how could they be willing to have their faces covered in mud for no reason? They immediately grabbed some mud and chased after the one who dared to smear mud on them, vowing to smear mud on their faces as well.

As a result, the situation gradually got out of control, and the mischievous adult males also began to join in the fun with the children. Mocha started out scolding a few rowdy individuals, but when a clump of mud accurately hit his face, he howled in anger and joined the mud battle as well.

After having breakfast, Qin Fei delegated the task of making the mud to Mocha and planned to make more pills to prevent the effects of drugs in the bamboo building. After all, many people were going this time, and it would not be good if they didn’t prepare enough and ended up getting drugged themselves. Sa Lei naturally followed behind, planning to continue being affectionate with Qin Fei while no one was around.

Initially, the old priest Ruma had nothing to do with this, but he was very curious about the pill-making process. Ignoring Sa Lei’s pitiful expression and constant eye signals, he sat in the bamboo house, acting like a big ‘light bulb’.

While Qin Fei was busy with the herbs, Sa Lei gritted his teeth and signalled to Ruma with his lips, “Old priest, you have nothing to do here, why don’t you go back?” Ruma’s response was straightforward and resolute – he shook his head in refusal.

Sa Lei snorted and Qin Fei looked at him with confusion, but he had a smile on his face. Taking advantage of Qin Fei’s smile, Sa Lei gradually approached him. Once his hands were on Qin Fei, he had no intention of letting go.

While Qin Fei was making the medicine pills, Sa Lei rubbed his hands all over his body. Qin Fei had a handful of medicine and warned him with a stern look. Sa Lei smirked and kept his hand on Qin Fei’s body. As Qin Fei finished making the medicine pills, Sa Lei’s hands got even more presumptuous. Qin Fei glared at him again, indicating that there were others around. Sa Lei ignored Qin Fei’s warning and continued to take liberties with him. Although the angle was just right to prevent Ruma from seeing it, Qin Fei’s suddenly blushing face was still clearly visible to Ruma.

Qin Fei gritted his teeth and glared fiercely at Sa Lei. Sa Lei looked innocent, but his hands were not hesitant at all. If it weren’t for Ruma’s refusal to leave, he would have gotten even more benefits by now. Qin Fei had good skin, and the subtle touch made Sa Lei unable to resist licking his lips. Qin Fei shuddered under his touch, biting his teeth to suppress the sound.

If Ruma didn’t understand by now, then he might as well be dead. Knowing that Qin Fei had thin skin (shy, reticent or sensitive disposition), the old man couldn’t stay any longer and could only glare at Sa Lei in hatred before leaving.

Sa Lei watched Ruma leave and couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction on his face. Unfortunately, the satisfaction didn’t last more than two seconds before a palm print full of medicine appeared on his forehead. Qin Fei glared at Sa Lei with anger, and Sa Lei immediately put away his smug expression, looking somewhat wronged at Qin Fei. His hands, however, continued to tease Qin Fei.

Qin Fei suddenly felt his body go weak. Although he tried hard to resist those troublesome hands, the rising heat and gradually weakening body betrayed him. Regardless of Qin Fei’s hands full of medicine, Sa Lei quickly took off the things they were wearing and pressed Qin Fei down for a hot kiss.

The heavenly thunder ignited the earthly fire. So, when Qin Fei crawled out of the bamboo house with a sore back and climbed down to the river to bathe secretly with Sa Lei, he was shocked to see the scene in front of him – the legendary “Mud Festival”.

Qin Grandpa blinked his eyes. He had only participated in the “Mud Festival” once in Yunnan, but at least everyone was wearing clothes while smearing mud. In front of him, these barbarians were smearing mud naked.

The group of people were enjoying themselves and didn’t notice Qin Fei staring at them blankly. Sa Lei’s eyes lit up and he turned to look at Qin Fei. Qin Fei suddenly felt uneasy and tried to run away. But he couldn’t outrun Sa Lei and was caught by him in a few steps. Disregarding Qin Fei’s screams and curses, Sa Lei skillfully stripped him naked, and the two of them fell into the mud together to join the melee.

At first, although Qin Fei was covered in mud, he still covered his sensitive parts and tried to escape desperately, hoping to dodge Sa Lei’s clutches and return to the bamboo house. But an idiotic male, who had no sense, ran into Qin Fei and a clump of mud smeared directly onto his white and tender face. After striking, the male froze. He did not expect that he had hit Qin Fei.

Qin Fei spat out the mud in his mouth and became enraged. He threw his face into outer space and charged at the male, not bothering to cover his sensitive parts. The male was frightened by Qin Fei’s fierce expression and stood there motionless. Qin Fei did not hesitate to strike and quickly knocked the foolish boy into the mud. Sa Lei rushed over to help when he saw Qin Fei’s anger. They pinned the pitiful male to the ground and smeared mud all over him from head to toe. However, the male had a helper who pushed Qin Fei down and quickly tangled up Sa Lei. The two of them wrestled and fell into the mud.

Qin Fei climbed up from the mud, grunting with anger and yelled at the two guys who were rolling in a bundle, “Don’t think that just because you’re covered in mud, I can’t recognize you. Remember this!”

One of them froze at once and was immediately thrown into the mud by the other. Sa Lei was sitting on top of Mocha and turned his head to shout at Qin Fei, “Come over here, I’ll hold him down, you can vent your anger.”

Qin Fei sneered twice, making Mocha’s back shiver with fear. He quickly spun around and said, “Sa Lei boss, Qin Fei boss, spare me.”

The two of them said in unison, “Too late!”

Just as they were teaming up to tease Mocha, a roar echoed across the field. Everyone was stunned and stopped their actions, turning their heads to look at the source of the sound.

The Ruma priest was dressed neatly, but some mud was slowly dripping down half of his face. Qin Fei stuck out his tongue and whispered to Sa Lei, “Who acted so fast? I didn’t even see it and they beat me to it.”

Sa Lei replied softly, “I don’t know. If I did, I would have acted too!”

Ruma snorted in the direction of the two, “You two like mud so much, go play in it together. We’ll continue with the plan to smoke out the bees in the bamboo forest as planned. No one else is allowed to wash off the mud, everyone waits outside the bamboo forest for me.”

Little did Ruma know, these words of his turned what was originally a simple mud fight into the later popular ‘Nata Tribe Mud Festival’ that spread throughout the continent.

Author’s Note:

Regarding the association drama about ‘water ukaka’ (plastic sheeting):

Qin Fei is lying on the bed in the bamboo building, and Xiao Bu is lying next to him.

Xiao Bu: Qin Fei, what you just said is true? Can we plant things in those structures made of ‘water ukaka’?

Qin Fei: Of course, we can. We will grow many fruits and vegetables, especially during the winter when we will have lots of fresh food.

Xiao Bu: ( ⊙o⊙ ) Wow, then I want to plant, I want to plant too.

Sa Lei stood by the bed and watched as the veins in Xiao Bu’s neck bulged as he occupied Qin Fei’s space. He casually picked up Xiao Bu and said, “Mocha, Bante, you guys plant Xiao Bu inside. When winter comes, the tribe will have a lot of male labour when they grow up!”

Qin Fei looked coldly at Sarei and said, “Planting Xiao Bu is so troublesome. If we plant Chief Sarei inside, there will be many Chief Sareis growing in the winter.”

Everyone said, “Wow, really? Let’s try it…”

Sarei was dragged away and said, “Qin Fei, you can’t do this to me… I’m leaving, who’s going to burst your little (chrysanthemum which is used to refer to the ‘ahem’ special area in Bl novels) flower…”

Qin Fei (furious): “I’ll go personally and dig the pit deeper!”
