Chapter 492 492: Resident Evil I

Chapter 492 492: Resident Evil I

The second area looked like a vista of sprawling green hills and suburban homes. What used to be clean sidewalks and calm family houses was now a ghost town, abandoned as gravity raged in a storm above.

From his divinations he already knew just how terrible these storms were, so even now more than ever he would have to keep his feet planted firmly on the ground. It would be extremely painful for those who come to this dungeon without a way to move in an environment with no gravity.

They would just float into the air where the gravity storms would tear them apart. Cole did not even want to imagine what that would feel like, it would make him feel pity for his future victims/enemies. The phenomenon above him was inspiring and showing Cole new limits that he could push the gravity rings skills. Imagine a gravity storm along with a normal storm, the level for destruction of that sweeps through a city would be massive.

lightsnοvεl It was quiet though, too quiet even. Considering the commotion Cole had caused before he stepped into this new area, you'd expect he had an army of monsters waiting for him, but there was nothing, just rows upon rows of abandoned suburban houses.

"Something's not right." Cole said to himself as he placed his leg on the lawn of the first house. The reaction was almost instantaneous, and the reveal after even more so as Cole had not noticed any of the undead hanging around the neighborhood. It was almost as if they were camouflaged from his eyes until he had crossed into the area proper.

There was a zombie sitting on the front of porch of the first house. Her hollow red eyes stared right back at Cole as barbed tentacles came out of her ears, and her throat split open to reveal teeth in ridges and a spiral, designed for piercing and tearing, all in all a very painful death.

She looked back at Cole, her movements almost hypnotic with the way she was moving. Cole grunted as he took a step back and raised his rifle up, aiming down the holographic sights as the creature let out a weird keening wail. That sounded like a mating call, or rather maybe not a mating call but very different, this was not a booty call, this was an all you can eat Cole buffet call.

Cole squeezed the trigger putting two quick bullets into the undead. The gun was in burst mode which was good, the shots had been subdued so not much attention had been drawn to it, but that was all for naught.

Like a scene out of a horror movie, Cole watched as the undead started coming out of the houses, their eerie moans and stomach churning look, setting the ambience ad Cole now noticed the pressure they were putting off.

"Diamond Rank!"

He cursed softly, Erasure would soon be out of cool down, and he could try to cross as much of the distance away from the gathering crowd of zombies. This was not the first time he's had to deal with zombies, his had experience with Darklings and Banelings. All different forms of undead, this third kind seem more animalistic than most.

There was purpose in their stumbling gaits, and a primal intelligence in their eyes, and strength hidden in their bones. Cole turned around and took one step only to run into a lariat from Azrael, the power behind the strike so intense that Cole was spun and turned inside out, before being blasted backwards into the waiting crowd of extremely powerful and hungry undead.

There was no smug smile or look of satisfaction on Azrael's face. Cole caught the look, the sheer absence, the guy didn't care. This was a task for him that was getting too difficult and taking too long. He was getting annoyed, but there was no other emotion. This was a man who would kill Cole and won't lose a wink of sleep once he does it. What made him so terrifying was the fact he wasn't doing this for money or for some previous slight.

Azrael was doing this for power, a chance to answer to no one but himself. To be strong that no one would ever be able to hurt and use him again. Power to save and preserve his own life and right now Cole was in the way. Cole grunted and spun his body, wrapping this body with [Gravity Rings] and creating a repulsive force, barreled through their middle, the force from him being thrown had built up with his kinetic stat, the moment he crashed into their middle there was a powerful release of energy.

*BOOM!*

Flesh was ground into the tarmac as Cole left a bloody smear by crashing into the midst of these zombies. But there were more than prepared for him even with him crashing as one had grabbed a Cole by the armpit and dragged him up and over its head, smashing his armored body into the ground before kicking him in the face and flinging behind away as his body blasted through a building to come to a stop with his face planted in a toilet seat.

"Well you're getting your ass kicked. This might be just as good a time to go super Raen....or you know just turn into a giant robot and blow this joint to shit." Lyren's voice was heard as Cole nodded his head in agreement.

"Yeah we tried stealth, and that didn't work. So let's go out there and kill that fucking Assassin!"n-(o--v/.ε.-l-/b((I-)n

[Animech Mode]

A flash of light and rapid grinding not gears as out of the wreckage of the house, a giant mechanical arm could be seen pushing it's way through the debris. As Cole rose, now a good 30 feet tall, he pointed Lyren's massive arms in the direction of the zombies and just poured in his energy, letting the chaos born creature take charge or attacking.

*Du! Du! Du! Du! Du! Du! Du! Du!*

An endless spray of chaos bullets, but much more than that was the fact that Cole could feel the were .50 cal rounds. Whether it's with the smaller armor from, or this massive Animech form, Cole and Lyren were bonded that both their strengths combine. And that combined strength was powerful enough to punch holes through the bodies of zombies, with enough power to slap the entire empire state building to dust.

The zombies screeched harder as they scattered, their speeds amazing and their dexterity non a whole other level as they all scrambled away or scampered onto Lyren's Animech frame as he and Cole attempted to dislodge them from their body. It was an obvious distraction as Cole turned just in time to get a massive fuel truck smashed into his face.

The blow had enough power to lift his Animech form off its feet , and thrown sideways. His body flying over an entire block before he crashed into a well made lawn, digging massive furrows into the ground with his body as his head smashed into a manor.

*Crash!*

"Oww!"

Lyren moaned as Zombies hidden in the manor dropped down on their face and started scratching and attacking, leaving actual dents within the frame of Lyren, Shocking Cole because even before the level 100 system change, he was not strong enough to leave a scratch on Lyren's body.

Cole got up ripping undead from his face and chucking them into the air, that was a big mistake. The gravity storm hung 35 feet above the ground, so when Cole raised his hand to throw the zombies, it got caught up in the storm as he was lifted off the ground and violently thrown against, the crash this time was a lot more intense as Cole's massive Animech body crashed onto the ground and rolled over and over again until it came to a stop on the shores of an artificial lake.

The Animech's right arm was twisted badly out of it's sockets and Cole could hear the chaos pup whining from the pain. He grunted as he got back to an upright position and deactivated the Animech mode. Going that big was not wise, it made them a bigger target to take down, and Cole sacrificed a lot of the mobility his smaller form would have afforded him, no matter how far ahead of it's time the Animech was, against the undead in a 7th floor dungeon, it might as well just been a punching bag.

There was a dull throbbing pain from Cole's right arm, but we he and Lyren bonded, the chaos pup shared of his Raen regeneration. The only problem would be ensuing lack of energy, using the Animech mode was a huge drain on resources and right now Cole was scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

He took two steps forward and punted a zombie that had still been hanging onto the Animech. The strike released a dull sound and a small wave before Cole brought to bear his rifle and left two bullets in its head, putting it out of is miserable existence as he switched from burst to automatic fire, then he placed the stock against his shoulder and aimed down on the sights.

From beyond, as he stood with his back to the lake, a literal army of undead were all rushing his way, mouths open wide with rage and promise of death with their throat mouths even spitting out acid.

"Guess it's time to channel my inner Leon S Kennedy."

"Who?"

"Don't worry about it Lyren, just know we're going full resident evil on this bitch."

"What?"
