Chapter 374 374: The Glade Wars 2 VI

Cole watched impassively as the Pontifex fought for her life, the effects of both his and Delarosa's sword was not something that anyone could or should pay attention to. They were extremely deadly as far as he was concerned and it was quite the cheat. Any wrong move from a person, letting Cole or Delarosa land so much as a glancing blow would be enough to turn any fight in their favor.

"Would you like to do the honors?" Cole asked Delarosa, pointing at the Pontifex as the woman shook her head and went back to go drag Tehila out until she was standing in front of the terrified Pontifex.

"To the Victor goes the spoils, this victory belongs to her, so too would it's spoils." Cole nodded and took a few steps back, watching as Tehila moved closer and without even standing on much ceremony or saying anything else, she placed her hand on top of the Pontifex's head, and then she used [Sin Eater].

This time Cole was lucky enough to get front row seats to the sight that accompanied a Raen feeding on a person's stats or energy. It was a pretty but somewhat horrifying sight as a Golden corona of energy spilled out of the Pontifex's body.

The light dance out of her in a stream of golden, red and bright silver glows. The Pontifex screamed, Cole doubted Tehila had the power necessary  in her stats to back her [Sin Eater] skill. But the Pontifex had already been brought down to such a low state, she was weak, so bringing her down was not too hard for her.

Cole watched as the Pontifex was drained, until all that was left was a husk, a shell of her former self. Then that too turned to dust and was blown away into the wind. The leader of the Northern Glade has fallen, and as such it meant that at least the Glade wars was about to enter it's final chapters.

"What do we do about her army?" Thunder-Jack asked, as Cole shifted his attention to the army. Many of them were rushing towards the northern glade, probably to try and claim for themselves due to the current power vacuum, or perhaps was it because they felt as if the Glade itself would serve as protection from Cole and his Raens, of which there had been casualties, but not too bad as they had actually re-spawned, making Cole realize something important.

The Pontifex and a few of her followers seem to be the only ones capable of delivering the true death, killing the soul of an aspirant here in the system universe and out there in the real world. So in the end, while he was not so sure yet as a census has not been carried out, so he was not sure if at all there had been people who have been affected by the true death, Cole frowned as he returned his attention back to the problem at hand.

"cut them off, kill everyone until they start surrendering, then keep killing but spare those who surrender. No need to be so heavy handed, their leader has been defeated." Cole said to Thunder-Jack, but Eze interrupted.I think you should take a look at

"I'm sorry sir but I don't think that's a good idea. These enemies are denizens, and all of them has some sort of connection or corruption from the darklings. You let them in and that corruption would spread, you've seen the same thing when you were dealing with the western glade." Cole sighed as he turned in the direction of the Northern Glade.

"What do you suggest I do about this?" Cole asked all of them, but mostly Eze. He was right in the middle of the council of leaders, the heads of the division with the exception of Castor and Peronico who were still busy doing God knows what. He at least could rely on their judgment and not have to do everything by himself, after all they all gave good advise.

"I believe our current course of action should be total eradication. With this much amount of enemies, we can power up our people, taking and placing them ahead of the curve. You saw what we had to deal with in London. If we don't take harsher steps to facilitate our growths, then we really would be caught with our pants down when the system finally gets here."

"But that's Genocide!" Farida said, with a shocked look on her face, the fact that Cole was even considering such an option was obvious to all of them. But it was one thing to slay every enemy in your path, but it was another to slay those trying to get out of your way, of which there would definitely be innocents."

"I think it's necessary. We have to think about this in the long term, if we don't stamp them out they will definitely rise up again and try to take revenge for what has happened here." Tehila shook her head as she turned to veteran.

"I understand you Eze, we need power, and a lot of it. And this does seem like a good way, the darklings give a significant portion of stats and there is just so many of them. The northern Glade are enemies and seem to have some sort of symbiosis with the darklings. We ought to end them all before they become a problem in the future.

But the moment we begin to think like that, to think like our enemies, then that's the moment we become them. The Pontifex would have stopped at nothing to kill me because she believed I'm some sort of oracle, something that would destroy the universe, and she was ready to kill even the none- combatants in the city, down to the children in order to do so. We don't roll like that." was simply all she said as she turned to look at Cole, in the end the decision was left up to him.

"Take the Glade, spare whoever surrenders, and kill who does not. Disable every defenses, and take the damn city, this war would not be over until we have the entirety of the great valley in our grasp and clutches. As for the none combatants in the northern glade, all Raens are to give them the option to either surrender to our rule, or, gather them all in one place, once everything is said and done, give them some rations, and send them away. It all depends on whatever choice they chose to make."
