Chapter 328 328: Extraction I

Cole watched as Ravena took care of the sentinels, they were quite strong all of them being in the gold rank, but Ravena had enough artillery to bring down the entire dome if she wanted. But that was not the aim, after all Cole's target was still in there. He watched as she used scale like projectiles to pick the sentinels out of the water.

Blood filled the entirety of their view with almost no way to peer through the guts and gore. Cole chuckled, he had to admit that Ravena had a palette for carnage. Never the less she carried on and passed through the area to come up in front of the tunnel that came down from the island.

There was a way in from the outside, but Cole didn't really needed. He watched quietly as a sentinel swam through the tunnel. Bringing along with it, it's own shadow. A shadow that Cole popped out of the next second, to grab the sentinel by the back of the massive power pack it had on.

Cole stabbed Black Malakai into the back of the sentinel, grunting in annoyance as he did so due to the lack of reaction to pain and death from the sentinel. These shark men were most definitely broken to the core. Whatever process that goes into making them, it leaves them a husk of their former selves. A puppet with a soul but without spirit. If that even made sense.

He rushed ahead, reaching the doorway that led into the dome proper. Seeing as this was a prison for what was pretty much Gold rankers, it would have been built a  lot more sturdy than most, so perhaps it would take Cole some time to break through the door and get in. But he has been here before, and his perception was a lot stronger.

"Hah! I knew you were going to betray me, so I have already made preparations in case of that. The entire prison is locked down, there is absolutely no way that you can get through and get to Peronico Porins. That gnome is my most prized possession. And his existence here should only be a secret known to the captain that delivered him here, and that captain is dead! Dead! Dead! Swimming with the fishes I would say.

So it's weird, even if the damn system gave you a quest, why did it have to be Peronico, it made no sense to me. But at the very least it didn't send you to kill me, but fuck the system! That gnome and his million children are mine! So kindly wait there while I come down and kill you! You're trapped, there's no getting out of there."

Cole blinked his eyes multiple times as he turned and vanished, appearing right at the entrance of Peronico's workshop, right behind over a hundred sentinels, defending or rather being the wall that stood between him  and Peronico. Unfortunately they were on the wrong side and Cole was on the right one, With Peronico being in front of him, while two massive sentinels with heads reminiscent of a hammerhead shark loomed over them.

"Ugh I think I'm in the wrong room." Cole said with nervous tilt to his voice, however.

"You fool! What did you do? That Blasted Dragon is on to us!" Cole gave the screaming Peronico a dull look as he asked.

"Seriously?" all he got in response from the gnome was a simple shrug, but there was no time to contemplate anything as the hammerhead sentinels already started attacking.

They were moth at least 3 and half meters tall, massive and heavily built. But it was made all the more worse by their red armor and volcanic power pack. They were an intimidating sight, and both of them had a variations of a massive weapon.

One had a massive rounded head mace, it had a line attached to the pack, and the other was two massive whips, each with three lines, and blazing red in segments that let Cole see the magma flowing within the whips. Cole jumped up, flipping himself backwards as the mace slammed into the spot he was just occupying. He quickly wrapped himself with [Gravity] as six fiery whip mouths rushed for him.

The whips acted like they had a mind of their own as twirled and twisted through the air as they struck at him. The [Gravity] shield held as Cole blasted upwards,  pulling out [Methuselah] much to the annoyance of [Black Malakai]. his feet met the roof of the building then blasted himself forwards as the whips began to twirl in the air, closing off the avenue for him to move.

He twisted with his spear spinning with him, deflecting and even managing to cut off one of the whips. He landed on the ground and used [Root Cascade] however all he received was a massive backlash and lightning seemed to lance through his brain. He shook as his legs smashed into the ground... no not ground. A floor, a floor made of metal.

There was no earth or anything of it's natural form here, and the lava just wont work. The damn spear was useless within the dome, not unless they go outside into the ocean, and the ocean floor would serve as earth to power the spear. This was such a massive weakness in a weapon that's supposed to be op and at the gold rank. If it was this bad then perhaps probably his sword also had a weakness that Cole hasn't noticed yet.

He chucked the spear back into his inventory and pulled out Black Malakai. And then promptly rolled away as the massive mace smashed at him. He had to raise a shield of [Gravity] as the other sentinels started attacking, firing off compressed lava out of guns that was also attached to their power packs.

But space in the workshop was quite limited and in no time at all Cole was surrounded with the sentinels attacking with everything they had. Cole just responded by stabbing Black Malakai Into the ground, as he activated the skill.

[Umbra Sword Garden]

Hundreds if not thousands of swords, all of them pitch black with a smattering of colors and styles. Shadows seemed to waft off the blades like a vapor as they stabbed into all of the sentinels present, leaving Peronico and his ten wives and hundreds  of children untouched. But the [Umbra Sword Garden] was just one part of the equation as with the swords still stabbed into all of the sentinels.

[Sin Eater]

A deluge of energy rose up,  spilling out of all the sentinels in a shower of golden sparks and fiery glows. They all rushed into Cole's body, filling him with energy all the way to point of bursting as he heard multiple rings of notifications. Cole was sure he had reached level 80 and another racial advancement.

But more than that were the stats, these sentinels were the cream of the crop, probably some of the best that Garudon had. And Cole just ate all of them at once. The workshop was empty except for him and Peronico's family. And each and every single one of them were staring up at him with a shocked look on their tiny faces.

"What kind of skill is that Boy! You took their energy and their stats! Their power becoming your own, you even ranked up. You will have to explain to me how you got that skill boy, what prism gave it to you and from what being. And  above all else we now have to get you out of here, because if Garudon saw that display, he would do anything to get his hands on you. There is not a skill like yours in all of existence."

Cole listened with amusement, he wondered what Peronico would do if he found out that Cole was just one out of thousands who have the skill. Guess this was another thing that made the Raens unique. He got up, moving over the desiccated bodies and ruined armor of the sentinels. Looks like Cole was even able to absorb the energy from their armor too.

"We don't have much time to spend here, I need to get all of you out of here at once. So if you all wouldn't mind, please link hands together, each and every single one of you, and do it fast. Peronico, we'll talk about the skill later….if you would accept a proposal of mine, but as soon as we get away from Garudon. After all like you said, I wouldn't want him to find out about me." Cole said as he made sure each and every one of the gnomes were holding their hands.

"It is already too late…..He's already here." Peronico said with a hitch to his voice as Cole turned and came face to face with the face of the driver that first took him to see Garudon…..Garudon himself in his commoner disguise.

"What is this I hear about a skill that can take stats and energy?" he asked with a mad grin on his face and fiery yellow eyes.
