Chapter 298 298: Ring A Ring A Prison I

Cole has never been to a prison before, but he has seen the structures many times before in movies, so perhaps he had a certain level of expectation about what a prison is supposed to be or look like…..the Naughty Nurse was very different. It's cells were in a spiral, and apart from the single elevator that was under control by the pirates, there was only one other way to go to the top level where the crew and the deck were.

And that was to use the spiral walkway, placed in front of the cells, or rather follow the cells themselves in an upward motion, till you get to the top. He had to say that the design was quite impressive, he was sure it was done this way to ensure that should the prisoners escape, they would have to take the long way to get to the top, giving the warden/captain and his guards enough time to intercept them.

Cole did not have to move this way, after all he could fly now. But honestly where's the fun in that. The moment he had left his cell an alarm had been sounded, so without a doubt the pirates would all be rushing down to keep him company, Cole was looking forward to it. For him every fight was a chance to get stronger, without fail, especially when the odds were stacked against him as that's when he shines the most.

The prison had four rings, coinciding with four levels. Cole had not even left the first ring when the elevator dropped down, and almost a dozen pirates showed up in front of him. All of them were at the silver rank, they were strong, which was good. It was about time he pushed his weapons to the next rank and have them level up, he too wanted to see what his weapons would be capable off once they leave the silver rank and enter the Gold rank.

[Black Malakai] let out an excited thrill as it fell into his hand. The blade seemed to vibrate in anticipation as the fishmen opened fire, their harpoons glowing configurations of water with the penetrative power of an advanced armor piercing round. They had as much power as the bullets from his guns, this was going to be an interesting challenge to say the list.

The first shot came for him, Cole smashed it to the side with [Black Malakai] but the force behind the harpoons propulsion was strong enough to push him back two steps. These guys were fishermen, and from what he was told, they were captured from the Ruby sea. It seems the seas were divided by a demographic of strength, and the captain had already told him that there were a few Gold ranks amongst their ranks, so these guys should have equipment equipped to hunt or rather fish the peak of the silver rank, or maybe even Gold rank beasts. Cole had to take this seriously.

[Shadow Dance]

Cole did not even move from his current location as the shadows around the pirate fishermen seemed to come alive. It was like a scene out of a horror movie as the shadows seemed to take on a tentacular form, before they all stabbed themselves into the bodies of his opponents. Their screams of horror and pain freaked Cole out as they were dragged into their own shadows with only a single shoe and some smattering of blood left behind as a sign that they had been here before.

"Well shit!"

Cole said to himself in surprise, he honestly had not been expecting that. The skill had acted on its own, but at the same time it was still taking directives from him. Cole could feel the shadows around him on a level that he has never been able to feel it before, it reminded him of the level of power and control over shadows that man, what's his name again, the dude responsible for cuckolding Irma's super hot fiery Dad. Cole shrugged, his name probably wasn't so important if not it would have come up, not at all because the author forgot the name of a random side character he had created.

The shadows felt like an extra limb, like it was both a part and separate from him, and what was much worse It felt alive. Cole chuckled, he had to be honest though, he was loving the Gold rank more and more. He sniffed as he headed the elevator moving again. He raised his head to see who was coming again, only to see a massive harpoon gun pointed in his direction and shot almost immediately by an individual standing on top of the elevator.

Cole moved his head to the side, dodging the harpoon, and using his will to lock down the area 10 meters around his body. The harpoon was primed to explode on contact but Cole had prevented it. He chuckled again, as the person with the harpoon pulled out two normal looking harpoons from his back, though these were longer, akin to spears as he jumped down aiming for Cole, his Gold rank aura blazing to life.

Cole held [Black Malakai] in a guard stance, but the pirate still had enough power behind his strikes to bring Cole down to a single knee. He pressed his attack by sending a knee towards Cole's face, all the liquid in the air quickly congealing around his knee to add more force to the strike. Shadows rose up to cushion the blow as Cole vanished in a puff and appeared behind the Fishman, fuck thinking of him as fisherman.

He swung his blade as the Fishman turned, his body moving really fluidly as if he was in the sea, itself to defend against Cole's strike. Unlike Cole who was pushed back, the fishman did not even budge as their clash released a shockwave with him having the higher ground Over Cole. But this was just as good a time for Cole to test out one of his new skills.

The massive costs required to activate the skills could be circumvented if Cole utilized the skills on a smaller scale. Of course only one of those skills could be utilized in such a manner. Plus Cole was someone with [Energy Manipulation] at the Gold rank, the things he could do now…..well there's only one way to find out.

[Shockwave]
