Chapter 158 158: 4th Floor Welcoming Party III

There was another zombie slowly shambling in his direction. He was lucky enough that he didn't get any serious injury from the zombie that just attacked him, either way he had to keep his wits about his as he got up and leapt off the stairs, going down a few flights as he attacked with both his knees. But in a move that severely shocked Cole, the zombie quickly twisted to the side, grabbed Cole out of the air and smashed his back into a wall, creating a small crater as it rushed towards him.

This zombie was not fighting like the other ones, even the zombie he just finished with was not as quick or as strong as this particular one, and the intelligence and battle acumen was so strong it was almost on par with what Cole could do. Cole ducked under a wild fist as he covered his with energy and slammed it into the sternum of the zombie. It was blasted back into the opposite wall, creating a crater of it's own as it's skin developed cracks from the point of impact. But just like Cole had reacted in the heat of battle, the zombie also did the same, releasing a purple beam of energy from it's eyes that smashed into Cole's chest, leaving really terrible burns over his skin as the attack bypassed the defenses of his clothes.

Cole was facing off against a stronger opponent than he had thought this floor had to offer for him, and he panicked a bit as the Zombie leapt a Ross the distance. He had already said that he would not underestimate any of the zombies, but he really did not have a full Gauge for their strength as it seemed each successive one that he found was a lot stronger than the previous one. It was at this point Cole finally understood why the third floor was still accessible, if you were not in the silver rank, or at most within the mid to late stages of it in a stat, then there was no way you would be able to deal with these zombies.

Better yet, people without proper combat instincts would not have been able to even put up a fight. This current zombie fought like it had intelligence And maybe it did. But ultimately it was still trying to kill Cole and was nothing more than a monster. It landed hard on Cole, pushing him to the ground as it's jaws widened go epic proportions, causing a chill to go down Cole's spine as he raised his hand up to hold the jaws apart, stopping it from chomping down on his skull. Acidic saliva burnt Cole's hands, but he was already taking action as he summoned a [Chaos Blast] and shrunk the pineapple sized skill to it was the size of table tennis egg and sent it flying into the mouth of the zombie over him.

*Splat!*

Another head exploded, but this time with enough force that more than half of the zombie's torso had also been blown away, by this point Cole was positively covered head to toe in blood. He grunted in annoyance as he quickly got back up to his feet. This floor was rapidly proving to him that staying in one place for too long is definitely not the way to go in order to survive. He got up to his feet, looted the zombie and ignored the notifications as he went down the flight not stairs, his sword held firmly in his grasp.

He stepped down onto the next floor as silently as possible and for someone with Cole's level of skills, that was absolute. The entire hallway was filled with doors on both sides of it with glass windows interposed between them, and signs over the doorways to show which class was which. The entire floor was dedicated to Class 2A to D, and filling the hallways was a literally army of zombies. Cole did not stand on ceremony as he quietly just kept going down the stairs, but in place like this trouble was not too far away.

"Hey Marshall are you ready to throw the dummy grenade? We need to draw the entire horde out of the school if we're to have any chance at all of leveling up and getting some sweet loot." Cole heard a voice, giving him a bit of hope in his heart as he came down to the landing of then next floor. There was a set of doors to his left, and straight ahead was the entrance of the school where about a dozen people stood in combat gear and Military grade weapons. Cole raised a hand up in greeting only to received a hail of gun fire in return.

*Ratatatatatata!*

Cole quickly dove to the side as the bullets flew over his head with a vengeance. He crashed through the double doors and into the waiting arms of a zombie that had no qualms about sinking nits rotten teeth into Cole's gloved hands. He growled as he delivered an energy enhanced knee strike into the sternum of the zombie, Cole felt rather than saw as vibrations seemed to spread from the point of impact and the zombie literally fell apart. Cole was confused, something was off with his energy and this place as whole. But he did not have much time to dwell on it as he turned to the doorway he just went through, hoping to tell the people outside that he was not a zombie to have them not shoot at him.

But ultimately that was not to be as the initial gunshots had dragged the attention of the zombies on the floors above. Cole cursed as some of them blasted into the room he was in while others rushed past heading towards the people who were shooting. Cole turned around and cursed even more as he realized that he had just ran into a tunnel that led straight to what looked to be a basket ball court, however there were no baskets, just weird hoops floating in the air and a shit ton of zombies tightly packed together and now turning their sights on the morsel that's walked in.

[Fade] [Spectral Rover]

Cole's form vanished as he moved in between the small army of zombies, trying to get to the other side, and then much to his shock he was sucker punched by a zombie that he absolutely did not see coming. At that moment it completely turned his entire worldview about just what the fuck he was dealing with. He landed hard midway through the court and right in the middle of an encirclement of really weird looking zombies.

The first thing he noticed of course was the fact that they were cheerleaders, one of them even had a badge that read welcoming committee member, and she also had a fire axe planted in her back. But beyond that it was the look he could see in their eyes, one of pure malice and hunger, but even more terrifying was the glint of intelligence also held in those gaze. They wanted to tear him apart, and as it stands Cole had no other choice but to meet that ferocity in kind.

They all rushed at him as Cole settled into a stance, seamlessly slipping into a state of being and mind that saw him as nothing other than an absolute predator. [Black Demon Swordsmanship] worked all too well with [Shadow Dance] which in turn blended well with [Gravity] to keep enemies of guard and stumbling, and using [Vertigo] [Assassination] and careful needful found flexibility of the [Chaos Blast] skill to fight for his life. In the end while he might have been trapped in a room with monsters, Cole himself was a worse nightmare than they would ever be…. Zombie or no Zombie.
