Black Glove sighs, “Coyote has been with me all these years, doing everything he can to help me. He’s the most hard-working man I have; who could have guessed he had other motives?”

“Condolences.”

Lin Yi idly comments before cutting to the chase, “now that we have confirmed his identity, I think the matter has been settled?”

He hurries him with knit brows, “Captain’s orders are simple. He’ll deal with everything else, and you simply need to do what needs to be done.”

Black Glove then glances at Lin Yi, “I think Old Coyote’s plan wasn’t all bad though.”

“I think that…”

“One fake, one real. We’ll pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. The plan has its merits.” Black Glove interjects, “and of everything Old Coyote said, there is one thing I found quite reasonable.”

“If I’m going to die either way, why not make my death more meaningful?”

“Vice-Cap…” Lin Yi looks like he still wants to argue, but he is stonewalled.

“Go. The plan will go forward. Bring him the info in my place.” Vice-Cap’s scars twitch a little, “tell him, that this is as far as I can go now.”

“Vice-Captain, you really are…” Lin Yi stops, heaving a heavy sigh, expressing a profound respect for the man’s unwavering loyalty to Captain, his brother.

Black Glove sees him off, and the cell falls silent once more.

A long time later, there is an almost imperceptible sigh.

Who would have guessed indeed? Both of them, are traitors.

Jian Si is back in his cell——He had no special treatment like Jiang Yiyi had and is not dangerous at all, so he was sent to the most average 5-person cell on the fourth floor.

And this cell that was so mortally dangerous to him before, suddenly feels safer to be in for him.

As for the cellmates who once brought him immense psychological pressure, even breaking his mental defences at one point…

He looks across each one of them closely, finding his previous fear of them unfathomable. Hey, don’t they all look like good lads? How outrageous it was that he thought them evil beyond all belief.

Being under the examining gaze of Jian Si quickly irritates those present. One quickly breaks the oddly stale atmosphere.

Big Guy stands up——His nickname describes his stature most accurately. He is extremely tall, and also wide. When he stands up, he is a tower of metal that blocks off all light from all directions.

“What are you looking at?” Big Guy approaches Jian Si.

The closer he comes, the more intimidating his height and build brings. Add to that his less-than-friendly appearance, any normal person wouldn’t be able to stay calm under the gaze for long.

Jian Si, meanwhile, performed worse than even normal people so far.

Big Guy has taken a few steps, waiting for the guy to show fear and extreme cowardice once more, to prove the efficacy of his intimidation once more.

He walks; a step. Two. Three…

Jian Si, though, still maintains his look of being in thought. Never mind fear, even that irritating, prying gaze is unchanging.

What’s… going on with him?

Big Guy estimates their distance, and stops——He doesn’t just have the muscles, of course; no one can survive on the fourth floor without quite the capability.

He is looking back at the others.

Rat responds, and he also walks forth with a sly smile; it does not look warm at all, “oh? You’ve got guts now, is it? Got Doctor behind your back?”

The mention of the Doctor makes Jian Si retract his gaze. Then he walks.

The distance between Jian Si and Big Guy is shrinking. He is not stopping——Jian Si really isn’t afraid of them at all. It is evident to Big Guy from the way the guy is calmly comporting himself.

He reflexively steps to the side before their inevitable collision——Allowing Jian Si a straight path to his destination.

They brush past each other, and Jian Si returns to his bed.

Rat gives Big Guy a curious gaze.

Big Guy turns around slowly, staring at Jian Si for a few seconds as the latter makes his bed.

“Bunny…” Big Guy has only just started to speak when Jian Si interrupts him.

“I do not like that nickname.” He has flattened the bed. He straightens up and looks back at Big Guy, “call me something else.”

“Hey.” The rage that has been building in Big Guy’s chest boils over. While his orders were only to observe Bunny’s movements, keep his distance, and continue to stress him out regularly, but fact is, the provocation so far is severe enough that, if he backed off, he’d become the bottom of the food chain in this cell immediately.

As a matter of principle, he cannot back off.

After that ‘hey,’ he says nothing else, and begins to shake his shoulders loose.

Jian Si is watching him from in front of his bed. He is somewhat surprised at his own indifference.

He thought he would finally fear what is to come, but in fact, he is simply calm.

Calm enough to recall the smile of Jiang Yiyi when he said “Now that your life is mine, I think it will be rather rude to waste what belongs to other people.” It was a business smile, but it was also a powerful smile.

Jian Si still remembers the drunk Jiang Yiyi he met. He was another loser just like him. In fact, the man was doing even worse than him.

It has been half a year. On their second meeting, Jiang Yiyi has become Jiang Yiyi. He, though, has only become worse.

He was the only loser all along.

Of course, that realisation was not what changed Jian Si. It was Jiang Yiyi who changed him, to be calm and collected.

He has made a choice and a promise. A deal with the Devil.

Death is scary, but he has seen something more vibrant than death. A danger beyond what death offers. It can trample all other forms of danger underfoot, leaving but itself behind.

Jian Si thinks that he will be beaten, as he continues to calmly look up at the imposing man before him.

It will hurt. Jian Si knows it will, but it is fine. He is familiar with the sensation already.

Now, there is only one thing left to consider…

Jian Si stares as Big Guy steps forward once more, rushing for him. How can he win?
