“Doctor!” Butcher is hurrying over, just in time to see Lone Wolf narrowly avoiding Lunatic’s fist headed right for his temples. Before he can sigh in relief, he notices Lone Wolf’s hand pausing in place, but only manages to leave half a fingerprint on Lunatic’s throat. The two of them both just skirted by death’s door.

While his heart is racing, he yells out at Jiang Yiyi.

Jiang Yiyi stops looking to give his attention to Butcher.

“Stop Lunatic right now! One of them will die if this goes on!”

Jiang Yiyi seems to be in no hurry. He asks Butcher, “what disciplinary measures will they be subject to?”

Butcher appears shocked by the question. The fat on his face twitches a few times, as he processes what Jiang Yiyi was truly asking, “it is really up to the supervisors…” He pauses, “but given Lunatic’s prior record and how he also initiated this severe incident…”

“He is probably pass the threshold for failing the evaluation.” He stares at Jiang Yiyi, “and will be moved to the third floor.”

Jiang Yiyi nods, “how about Lone Wolf?”

“Again, depends on the supervisors.” Butcher’s agitation has melted away entirely, as he explains in detail, “Lone Wolf is quite the odd case. Given his good record, and what could arguably be reasonable self-defence, he has more than enough reason to remain on the second floor. That said…”

“Incidents are incidents. His initial judgement already placed him on the third floor. That is also enough reason to send him back down…”

Butcher notes Lunatic and Lone Wolf’s close call occurring once more in the short few seconds. His heart is no longer racing, but his forehead is still twitching.

“It is really up to what the management thinks.”

“I see.” Jiang Yiyi replies, then asks Lin Yi, “see? Told you he came for Lunatic.”

“Someone does not want him to remain on the second floor?” Lin Yi gets it soon enough.

“It is possible that they see the second floor as too…” Jiang Yiyi winks at Lin Yi, “far away, just like you.”

Lin Yi recalls after a few moments of silence——When he was on the second floor, he told Jiang Yiyi that this floor was quite far away from his men on the lower floors. It was inconvenient…

He turns to look at Lone Wolf, “this is quite the energy they have.” A prisoner, at least as capable as Lunatic in his prime, is being used as a disposable pawn——What in the world could Lunatic’s enemy be?

A blade dances past Jiang Yiyi’s fingers as he calmly analyses, “so, if Lunatic has stopped, but Lone Wolf yet tries to retaliate with lethal force, would the supervisors see things differently?”

Butcher’s eyes widen for a moment, “quite possibly. Attempting a kill even after the opponent has stopped is a heinous deed indeed.”

“However…” Butcher appears to be reminding Jiang Yiyi, “if Lunatic did stop, he could die.”

Jiang Yiyi seems to think for a moment before giving him a vague answer, “possibly.”

Butcher appears worried now, his eyelids twitching, “Lunatic will probably be fine on the third floor. If he dies on the second floor…” his arse will be on the line.

“I do not like being forced into a choice.” The second and third floors are not much different for him; however, the fact that someone is expending much effort to force their goal gives him enough cause to go the extra mile to ruin their fun.

He raises his voice, “Lunatic, come back.”

Lunatic stops as soon as he hears, but Lone Wolf does not.

With one hand clamping Lunatic down, Lone Wolf’s other hand immediately grabs onto Lunatic’s throat. He locks every other joint of Lunatic down to stop any resistance. He has him in a chokehold.

Jiang Yiyi was not expecting Lone Wolf to stop either. If an acceptable outcome for them is forcing Lunatic down to the third floor, then killing him directly must be an even better outcome.

However, it is as Jiang Yiyi said, that Lunatic and Lone Wolf would be about equal in a fight normally.

Without outstanding circumstances, they will not achieve killing him easily.

Jiang Yiyi’s hand stops as a blade shoots out of his hand. There is a line of silver light headed right for Lone Wolf.

Lone Wolf is about to put force into his hand——

When his danger senses fire up in face of mortal peril. Before his brain can rationally judge his surroundings, his instincts dictate his subconscious reaction.

Lone Wolf’s hand loosens, and he immediately rolls to the side to escape danger——When he finds himself quickly surrounded by prison officers rushing forth.

He does not resist capture. His eyes quickly trace his previous location back to… a fence, which puts a stop to him finding the origins of that dangerous feeling.

“Lone Wolf!” Butcher sighs in relief as he classifies Lone Wolf’s previous act with prejudice, “Lunatic has already stopped. Why were you not stopping?”

“Butcher, before I stopped, he was still trying to kill me. It was in self-defence.” Lone Wolf answers Butcher as his gaze searches among the crowd.

Lunatic is recovering on the floor there. He has many wounds on his body, none fatal, but it is still affecting him quite a lot.

“Self-defence?” Butcher coldly smirks, “you came in on negligent manslaughter. I now suspect you were trying to pull the same trick!”

“I do not believe that, given your fighting capabilities, you would not have noticed that Lunatic has come to a complete stop…”

“Butcher, Lunatic has tried to attack me once more. He is too dangerous to let stay on the second floor.” Lone Wolf interrupts Butcher, and finally bares his fangs, “there is enough proof that he is aggressive and highly dangerous to other prisoners, as he may kill at any time.”

Lone Wolf’s eyes stop when he reaches Jiang Yiyi——Specifically, his hand.

A silver light dances across Jiang Yiyi’s fingers as he smiles at Lone Wolf, “I think that your judgement is inaccurate.”

Lone Wolf stares at him in silence with baleful eyes. He is a beast that has locked on to a prey anew, and is looking for the best place to bite.

“While it is true that Lunatic’s mental state is unwell, but outside of you, he has never attacked anyone else recently. As his attending psychologist, I have reason to suspect that you have provoked Lunatic of your own volition, to cause his severe, targeted aggressiveness towards you.”

“Attending psychologist?” Lone Wolf repeats the phrase, “as I recall, you are only a surgeon operating without license, aren’t you?”

Jiang Yiyi tilts his head, “that’s right, and right now, I am also a psychologist operating without license.”

He seems more honoured than ashamed.

The courtyard is quiet.

Lone Wolf sniggers, “then that means, your judgement is completely unreliable.”

Jiang Yiyi shrugs smugly, “I could get a license if you need, but…”

“I’m sure the supervisors don’t need to see that.”

“Because the efficacy of my treatment, is plain as day.”

Lone Wolf is glaring at him with wrath burning in his eyes.

Jiang Yiyi uses his hand to tap lightly in his direction, marking him with a simple label of ‘Hostile.’
