Tattooed Snake is leaning on the wall, his fists remain trembling. He does not speak.

Jiang Yiyi ignores him.

“Get the officers to give him medical attention.” Jiang Yiyi straightens up as Lowly Lackey dashes out from the side with a warm towel to hand to him.

Jiang Yiyi wipes his hands and looks towards Tattooed Snake.

The man is sticking to the wall with nowhere to back off to.

“Don’t be so impulsive next time,” Jiang Yiyi hands the towel back to Lowly Lackey, “and just ask me.”

Tattooed Snake’s Adam’s apple moves up and down, as his fists loosen and tighten a few times, before he finally says quickly to Jiang Yiyi, still dispassionately watching, “it’s nothing. I don’t want to ask anymore.”

Jiang Yiyi looks up and down the guy a few times, and is wondering about the quick change of attitude——And he looks deeply afraid right now.

In all honesty, shouldn’t he be the one feared by everyone else right now? He almost kicked someone to his death. What’s the big idea playing the victim now?

Jiang Yiyi shakes his head.

Tattooed Snake shudders, and if not for the wall, he looks like he’d fall over as his legs give out.

Whatever the case, as he’s not a party to this, Jiang Yiyi turns around to tell Lowly Lackey, “well? Have you called the officers yet?”

“Right on it, aniki.” Lowly Lackey goes to the small window to yell for prison officers’ attention.

Zhang Zheng hurries over, and barges in as soon as he sees Four-Eyes lying on the ground.

“Against the wall, all of you! What happened?!” Zhang Zheng looks at each of them in turn, his gaze lingering on Jiang Yiyi for a few seconds before he turns to Murderer, “Murderer, speak.”

“I’ll send Four-Eyes to the clinic right now.” Another prison officer quickly carries Four-Eyes out of the cell.

“Tattooed Snake had an argument with Four-Eyes, and kicked him a lot.”

“Why did you not call us when the fight was happening?”

Murderer glances at Tattooed Snake.

Tattooed Snake raises his hand, “report. I warned them not to call the officers.”

“You beat him up?”

Zhang Zheng glances towards Jiang Yiyi.

Tattooed Snake “That’s right.”

“At no one’s orders?”

“No one.”

“Why did you do it?”

“He pissed me off.”

Zhang Zheng stares at Tattooed Snake’s uncooperative form for a few seconds before suddenly moving in front of Jiang Yiyi.

“2091!” Glaring at Jiang Yiyi, he asks, “what did you do in the shed behind the carpentry workshop this noon?”

“Had a chat with Tiger,” replies Jiang Yiyi.

“Did you inflict the wound on Tiger’s arm?”

Jiang Yiyi tilts his head and calmly denies it, “I did not.”

Zhang Zheng is riled up, “who else but you?!”

Jiang Yiyi asks in turn, “did Tiger accuse me of such?”

Zhang Zheng appears to have lost his voice for a few seconds before indicating to another prison officer behind him, “pat him down.”

The officer seems hesitant.

Lowly Lackey raises his hand next to them, “report. Officer Zhang, this is against protocol. We reserve the right to report you for infringing on the rights to privacy and contempt of human dignity.”

Zhang Zheng now glares at Lowly Lackey for a few seconds before turning back to Jiang Yiyi, with emphasis, “I will nominate your name for consideration of dangerous prisoners next time.”

Hm?

What is that?

“Someone like you should never have been let into the first floor!” Zhang Zheng stares at each one in turn, Lowly Lackey and Murderer lower their gazes, not meeting him in the eye.

“Tiger’s arm had clear injuries from a bladed instrument and signs of suture…” Zhang Zheng stares back at Jiang Yiyi, “they’re still keeping their mouths shut on your name, but we’ll see how long they’ll last.”

“If it’s proven you are in possession of illegal articles and caused intentional harm…” Zhang Zheng pokes Jiang Yiyi on the shoulder, “there is no way you’ll escape evaluation unhindered.”

Jiang Yiyi can’t help but smile——These people here, he realises, sure do enjoy acting tough, in stark contrast to how they actually make good on the words – in a manner that can only be described as ‘genial.’

Genial enough that Jiang Yiyi could develop a false sense of security that he can act with free reign around here.

With that smile as the ultimate form of mockery, Zhang Zheng retracts his arm with a terribly wrathful expression, unable to comprehend the confidence in display here.

How in the world can he be sure that Tiger, with whom he’s on such bad terms, would try to cover for him?

“Take Tattooed Snake away. Due to the severity of the brawl, put him in solitary confinement for three days.” Zhang Zheng gives Lowly Lackey a warning glare before taking the prison officers away with him.

The last officer in line glances at Jiang Yiyi before shutting the door.

Jiang Yiyi, currently leaning to pick his book back up, appears to sense it and looks at him.

It is the handsome prison officer.

Jiang Yiyi raises his brow.

“I-saw-it.” With his back to the surveillance in the corridor, the officer makes shapes with his lips in silence, while his eyes lock fixated on his hand.

The cell door closes once more.

He saw it?

Jiang Yiyi’s finger twitch, and he looks at the thin blade at his fingertip. He realises after the fact——When did this even come into his hand?

It’s like a reflexive gesture his body undertakes during an emergency without the brain’s input——He was ready to retaliate and even overpower the enemy.

Jiang Yiyi retracts the blade while wondering, once more, if this random person he ended in might have a hidden identity.

Actually, no matter how he sees it, his identity is suspicious.

That said, the memory he inherits had no remarkable segments. This random person really should have been an average, unskilled surgeon.

So this random person is not the cause of all these odd things?

It couldn’t have been because of he himself, right?

Jiang Yiyi dismisses the thought and leaves the questions to the back burner.
