92 Stay at Home

Splash! Splash!

After washing up, Kyle treated his injuries and rolled his eyes in annoyance when he saw his battered appearance. His father really didn’t hold back and truly beat him up, especially his face.

Hmph, it’s good that he had also landed a few punches on his father’s face.

Heh, it would be funny to see the soldiers’ reaction when they saw their general was being beaten.

It was just unfortunate that Kyle couldn’t beat his father yet.

Anyway, the two of them were not seriously fighting with each other. If they were serious, they would have long used their ability to fight all the time rather than trading close distance punch like this.

After he had cleaned up, Kyle went to bed and sleep.

The next morning, Kate was staring at the ceiling in front of her with bewildered expression.

Where is she?

“Meow?”

Full of confusion, Kate moved from her bed and saw the large thin blanket that covered her and her whiskers twitched. That blanket was far bigger than her and seemed to be a waste to be used for her.

Oh well, there didn’t seem to be any blanket that suited her size either.

After all, Kyle was definitely not someone who kept a doll... Kate honestly couldn’t imagine the image of Kyle playing with doll.

“Meow.”

Stretching her body lightly, Kate looked around the room. It was then she noticed that this room looked a bit different from the living room and the kitchen that she had seen yesterday in General Ryan’s house.

This room’s wall was painted in grey color and there was barely any furniture inside aside from a bookcase, table, and bed. Well, there was also the chair where she was placed and the pillow.

But this room really look very lacking.

Kate glanced down and after estimating that this height was fine for her, she jumped down.

Thud!

‘Wow, a cat’s body is really flexible.’

Kate was pleasantly surprised to see that she had instinctively landed with her four legs. Ugh, she really wanted to turn back to be a human being, but it seemed that being a small kitten has its advantage and disadvantage too.

Anyway, it didn’t matter that much for her.

Kate walked towards Kyle’s bed and pulled his blanket so that she could use it to climb up. As for whether she left claw marks or something like that, Kate simply didn’t bother to care at all.

Thud!

Landing on the bed, Kate looked at the sleeping Kyle and called out, “Meow”

Kyle frowned and opened his eyes. He could see the small little cat in front of him and a smile unconsciously formed on the corner of his mouth. It has become a habit for him to see this little cat whenever he woke up by now.

“Hey, Little Kitty.”

“Meow~”

“Good morning.” Kyle definitely still couldn’t understand what Kate was talking about, but he could guess.

He sat up and picked Kate up easily. Looking at the blanket that had been pulled to the floor by the naughty little cat, Kyle laughed lightly. It seemed that he should just put the chair beside his bed so that the little cat could climb up to his bed easily.

Before this little cat grew, her size wouldn’t change so fast, so some things would need to be adjusted for her convenience.

‘She had grown a bit bigger as compared to 10 days ago, though.’

Kyle walked to the bathroom. He put Kate beside the tap and brushed his teeth while the little cat happily played with the water to wash her little paws.

“Do you want to brush your teeth too, Little Kitty?”

Brush her teeth?

Kate looked at the big brush and then compared it to the size of her mouth and quickly shook her head. There was no way she would want to put that big sized teethbrush into her mouth.

No way in hell.

“Alright.” Kyle didn’t pester the little cat and brought her out of the bathroom. “Wait on my table. I rarely stay here so there’s nothing much to see, but there should be some toys inside my drawer.”

Toys?

Kate watched as Kyle took the towel then turned to look at Kate again. “My clothes.”

Kate numbly took out Kyle’s clothes without looking at them and then turned her back towards him. This was not the first time, but she still didn’t want to look at them. Thankfully, she could just say what she wanted to take out from her space without looking at what they were.

Seeing the cute reaction of the little cat, Kyle laughed lightly.

He picked up the clothes and entered the bathroom.

Splash! Splash!

After Kate heard the sound of running water, she knew that Kyle had already started his bath. She looked at the few drawers not far from her with curiosity. Kyle said that he rarely stayed here, could it be that he used to stay in different city?

Well, she didn’t know much about Kyle anyway.

With her small paw, she tried to pull open the first drawer that was the closest to her. It was pulled out easily.

Just like Kyle said, there was barely anything inside.

A small notebook, a pencil case, a few marbles, and also an old phone.

“Meow.”

Kate picked up the marbles and looked at it. They were all at different colors and seemed to be really beautiful. Just like the stars in the sky, the glittering color from these marbles were very pretty.

She really didn’t expect that Kyle would have a hobby of collecting marbles.

‘One, two, three...’

She counted the marbles and noticed that there were only five different marbles. It was not many.

Kate played with the marble a bit and admired their pretty colors. It was not easy to make marbles that could be so beautiful like this as most of the time the color would be distorted and looked more random.

“Are you having fun?” Kyle saw the little cat was playing with his marbles and smiled. “These are the marbles that my mother gave to me whenever I do something to make her proud.”

“Meow?”

“The rest of the marbles are in my hometown and probably would have been buried at this time.” Kyle shrugged and took one of the marbles. He smiled faintly as he could remember the days when his mother was giving him these marbles.

He honestly didn’t like this thing, but seeing his mother treasured them and looked so troubled when giving to him, he actually liked to see that. Thus, he tried his best to make his mother proud so that her collection landed on his hand eventually.

“Meow.”

From the few conversations Kate heard from Kyle, she could guess that his mother might have passed away. This was why no one seemed to mention her in front of Kyle.

“Keep them in your space. It’s a waste to leave it here. You can play with it anytime you want.”

“Meow?”

“Yes, I’m sure.” Kyle patted Kate’s head softly. “Come on, let’s have our breakfast.”

“Meow~.”

Kate looked at the five marbles and then collected them into her space, specially placed in the middle with nothing else. For some reason, she could see that there was not only happiness but also sadness in Kyle’s eyes when he looked at these marbles.

She didn’t know what happened to Kyle’s mother.

And she didn’t dare to ask.

He didn’t seem to be willing to talk about it and Kate was not a person who liked to dig into someone’s wound just because of her curiosity. At the very least, she would just act as if nothing had happened.

Being carried by Kyle out, she could now see that they were on the second floor. This house only has two floors and the rooms were all located at the second floor.

Counting the doors, Kate realized that there were a total of four rooms on the second floor, which was more than the number of people who lived in this house. If one of them was the guestroom, the other room should be empty?

Kate only glanced but didn’t ask, though.

They reached down and saw General Ryan was already putting several bread on the table. He himself had already started eating.

“You’ve gotten slower when waking up now,” General Ryan complained.

“Is there any need for me to wake up so early? I’m not going out today. Is my study room still exist?”

“Do you think that I’m going to destroy your room?” General Ryan passed a sidelong glance at his son. “Just go there. It’s right beside your room.”

“Got it.” Kyle took a bread and put Kate down.

Kate glanced at Kyle and them lowered her head to drink her milk. It seemed that the room beside Kyle’s room is his study room.
