Lydis the Bride and the Vessel of the Goddess 1 (3)

The scarlet dress chosen by Mercuris had a large black ribbon attached to the waist, the skirt was made with plenty of lace, but the upper half of the dress was sleekly made. The black lace sleeves were slit from the tips of both shoulders to the tips of the fingers, and swayed everywhere as she walked, reminding one of an ornamental fish.

She told me that the reason why the glittering light blue particles faintly spilled and disappeared every time it shook was because the fabric was woven with the magic thread of the Spider race. I have yet to meet the Spider race, but they probably look like a combination of a human and a spider.

Her carefully woven hair also had black ribbons wrapped around it, and according to Mercuris, it felt like it’s 100 million times the loveliness of the beautiful princess of the demon world and her young wife. I didn’t really understand it, but the fragrant oil of moonlit flowers applied all over my body was so pleasant that I dozed off, so I could not understand much of what Mercuris was saying, although I am sorry to say that she kept on talking throughout the session. I was thankful that she told me that since she was talking on her own and it was just a habit, I didn’t have to answer her.

I thanked Mercuris for helping me get dressed and left the room. She offered to accompany me as a maid of honor, but I declined. It had been a while since I had been to the castle, so she probably had some work to do, and I could at least walk around the castle by myself.

The library was on the second floor, I believe. There were several staircases leading downstairs at the end of the corridor past Gilbert’s room so I headed for the stairs and walked down.

The corridor, which had been dingy and dirty, was now clean, as if it has been repeatedly cleaned every day.

I stopped when I saw the wood nymphs I had seen at Ria’s mansion decorating the corridor with colorful flowers.

“Hello, wood nymphs. I see you all come this way already”

“Princes, Hello Princess… Good evening?”

“It is almost dusk, so either way would be fine.”

The wood nymphs are numerous, and although there are differences in the shapes of the leaves, vines, and flowers that make up their bodies, it was difficult to tell them apart.

I was not sure which is which, but anyway, when they touch the wall with their hands, which seem to be a combination of vines, a circular assemblage of decorative flowers is created in its place.

Heartily, the number of lights on the tetrahedron seemed to increase as well. The fire nymphs and water nymphs like Cronaea walked on air, but the wood nymphs are doing it by piling up several people working together when they are working in high places, so perhaps not all the demon race members can fly.

“We were ordered by Master Ria to return to the king. The backyard, which was in shambles, and the garden at the front of the Castle will be very beautiful again tomorrow. What colour of flowers do you like, Princess?”

“I like all kinds of plants.”

“Aria-sama liked blue roses. Do you like blue roses too, Princess?”

“Yes, I like them. May I pick your flowers and decorate them?”

“That is not your Job princess, but if you wish to do it, I would be very happy.”

I bent my knees to make eye contact with the wood nymphs, who were about my waist or thigh height and reached out and caressed the head made of leaves, which were soft and fluffy to the touch, as if I had stuck my hand into a bundle of freshly cut grass. I suppose it’s not very nice to treat them like children, but since they were smaller than I was and had cute little voices, I couldn’t help but think they were adorable.

As I caressed one of them, the wood nymphs who had been watching me came to me one after another and began to offer me their heads. It was soft and comfortable, so I couldn’t get enough of caressing them, and then I heard a voice behind me, laced with giggles.

“I’m not impressed with you spoiling yourselves too much just because Lydith-san is so nice to you.”

It was Ria-sama who spoke. He took my hand and made me stand up.

His clothes were still black from top to bottom, but he was wearing a stuffed collar and sleeveless clothes, giving the impression of being somewhat approachable. Behind his body was a bushy, long-furred tail. I was very happy to see what I thought must be there.

How wonderful to see such a beautifully sculpted creature with pointed ears and a tail.

I wanted to touch him so badly, but I knew that it would be inappropriate to touch a person of the opposite sex without permission, so I held back.

“Master Ria, would you like us to put up more flowers?”  The wood nymphs gathered around Ria.

“Lydith is different from my sister, so there is no need to turn the castle into a botanical garden.”

“Understood, Ria-sama. We are going to another place. Princess, please come see us again.”

“After receiving Leah’s warning, the wood nymphs stepped back from me regretfully.”

“Yes princess. We are looking forward to seeing you in the rose garden and strolling through the gardens.”

After watching them gingerly walk away, I turned to Ria-sama.

He took my hand and stared at the imprint on the back of my left hand with interest.

“I suppose it’s a good trend for Gilbert, who never cared about anything, but didn’t it hurt?”

“No, it didn’t hurt.”

“Then, that’s good. Now you are the bride of our King, Lydith. We promise you our undying loyalty. You can do whatever you want, and you can command us. You may also call upon us when you are lonely at night.”

“That would be very kind of you, thank you. I would be happy to talk with you when Gilbert-sama is not available. Will you be staying at the castle from now on, Ria-sama?”

“The rooms for me, Astaroth, and Chuzel are located on the left, right, and front of the king’s room, with the King’s room in the center. You can request for me anytime. However, my role is to provide security and protection, so I’m often outside.”
