Chapter 427: My Physical and Mental Health Isn ‘t Important?

Everyone fell silent.

The group admin quickly realized the situation and kicked out the person who had used Assistant Qin’s name.

[Who added Assistant Qin here? I will kick them out.]

Everyone replied that they didn’t know.

Before they could figure out what happened, the group admin received a request from someone to join the group again.

[Sister Hong, this is Xinxin. I was just joking. I got kicked out before I could explain.]

The group admin clicked on the profile picture to check the information and confirmed it was indeed Xinxin, so she accepted the request.

[Simple misunderstanding. Xinxin pretended to be Assistant Qin.]

[@Xinxin, what are you doing? You scared us to death!]

[Sorry. Was just joking.]

[False alarm. Alright, back to work.]

The group chat returned to silence.

In the CEO’s office, Xia MO put down her things and told Lin Wan that she would be leaving.

Li Yanchen looked at the row of bags on the sofa and was quite satisfied.

What pleased him the most was that Lin Wan still thought of him after shopping. He leaned on the desk with one hand on his cheek. “Not bad, there’ll be a reward tonight.”

“My dear Mr. Li, you’ve been staring at me for five minutes. Can you focus on your work instead?” Lin Wan circled around Li Yanchen and pushed him toward his chair.

“I will be waiting for you in the lounge. I’ll check the children’s clothing store till then.”

Lin Wan went to the lounge on her own.

Lin Wan was on her phone. She didn’t realize it was already seven at night. Li Yanchen his work and came in to call her.

She bookmarked several shops and planned to wait for her stepchildren to return home. They could visit the shops together.

As Li Yanchen put on his coat, he said, “Wanwan, you must be anxious.”

“Oh, I forgot to tell Xinxin that we don’t have time for his class today.” Lin Wan realized.

“I sent a message to Auntie Huang, and I assume she has already told Xinxin. Should we go home to eat or do you want to eat outside?” he asked.

“Let’s go home.” They had left early in the morning, and Lin Wan missed her own bed.

At Yun Xi Junior High School, Li Zexin and his roommates finished dinner and returned to the school. They noticed Lin Wan’s absence.

Preserved Egg and the others were all smiles.

“Xinxin, why aren’t you saying anything?” Chubby Jiang asked.

“Sister Lin went to the company with Uncle Li, and Xinxin didn’t get to attend English class. How can you be happy?” Big Mouth asked.

“Just treat it as a day off. Don’t just think that Sister is there to only serve you. You need to grow up. In the future, Sister Lin might have a baby, and she will need to pay more attention to the baby. She will have no choice but to pay less attention to you. You need to get used to it. If not, won’t you feel more upset?” Preserved Egg said.

Li Zexin felt like he had been hit on the head with a stick.

Although he thought Preserved Egg’s words made sense, he still held on to a last glimmer of hope. “Ms. Lin isn’t pregnant yet.”

“You never know. You should prepare for the worst. I think you rely too much on Sister Lin,” Preserved Egg said.

Li Zexin was speechless.

On the way, his friend advised him on a lot of things. In his eyes, Lin Wan’s status surpassed even his father’s. If he depended on her so much, it might seem inappropriate.

Li Zexin felt that even if he didn’t break off his relationship with Lin Wan, he couldn’t prove his innocence.

“Thank you for your comments. I won’t be a day student starting tomorrow.”

“That won’t do. We’ve just obtained a long-term meal ticket. How can we not use it?” His roommates shook their heads.

“So, my physical and mental health isn’t important? Am I destined to become more and more attached?” Li Zexin asked sarcastically.

“Xinxin, we were just talking about the worst-case scenario. Right now, you’re in good health.” Then, they all started to say the opposite of what they had just said. They told him it was normal to be treated as a favorite by their parents.

Although everyone changed their words super quickly, Li Zexin still remembered what they had said before.

After arriving home, Lin Wan washed her hands, and Auntie Huang served her steaming hot porridge.

With each sip, it warmed her stomach and her heart.

After dinner, Li Yanchen took a shower, while Lin Wan chatted with Auntie Huang downstairs.

“Wanwan, Xinxin seemed disappointed when he didn’t see you at home tonight.” Auntie Huang wanted to say that Lin Wan was important to the children.

However, Lin Wan misunderstood. “Auntie Huang, do you think I should set some boundaries with them?”

“What do you mean?” Auntie Huang didn’t quite understand.

“What I mean is… They are becoming too dependent on me.”

Auntie Huang finally understood. “Madam, that might be impossible for young masters. They love you. Please don’t distance yourself from them. I’ve watched them grow up. They long for a mother’s love.”

Lin Wan thought for a moment. “Alright.”

After Li Yanchen finished his shower, he stood at the staircase and called for Lin Wan. Lin Wan said goodnight to Auntie Huang and went upstairs.

She couldn’t sleep easily.

The next morning, the sky was clear, and the little snow that had fallen had already melted. After Lin Wan got up, she basked in the sun in the courtyard. Auntie Huang prepared lunch and made several dishes that Li Zexuan liked, following Lin Wan’s instructions.

Lin Wan had arranged to meet Xie Wanyu on Sunday, but it was postponed due to Li Zexin’s parent-teacher meeting. Today was the day they agreed to meet.

The break time from Monday to Friday was short, but Xie Wanyu decided to see Lin Wan as soon as possible.

In the morning, she wore her favorite clothes.

Knowing that Lin Wan was going to Yun Xi High School, Li Yanchen also prepared something for his son. He gave Lin Wan a gravity mechanical pencil.

It was Assistant Qin’s suggestion, but he chose the design and color himself. Although it wasn’t much, he wanted his son to know that he always cared for him and was trying to make an effort to do better as a father.

The entire morning, Li Zexuan seemed absent-minded. Finally, after school, he and Xie Wanyu walked toward the school gate.

Lin Wan sat in the car and waited for the security guard to inform her of Li Zexuan’s arrival.

Ten minutes later, Li Zexuan took the lunchbox and sat with Xie Wanyu and Lin Wan in the security room. He hurriedly took a few bites of food and excused himself to go and buy a bottle of water. He wanted to give Lin Wan and Xie Wanyu some privacy.

Lin Wan invited Xie Wanyu to sit in the car with her.

“Sister Lin, thank you for meeting me.” Xie Wanyu then talked about her father.

Xie Wanyu had already found out everything she wanted to know. They never mentioned Xie Xiang’s profession, but the truth was evident in every word.

“Sister Wanwan, how did you know?” asked Xie Wanyu.

Even though she had never spoken about her father in front of anyone, and no one Imew where her father had gone, Lin Wan had been so certain that he wasn’t a bad person.

“It was just a guess. How could parents of such an outstanding daughter be anything less?” said Lin Wan.

“But that post went viral. You made such claims based on speculations.. What if you had gotten it wrong? Sister Lin, do you have some kind of psychic ability? Can you predict the future?”
